What I like about all the TWD villains is that they're all unique in their own way. Negan is a strategist, has his senses about him, sees people as a necessity wants to keep a structure and rebuild society in his image. Alpha was a fanatic, cultist kind of mentality, saw the world as it is now as the new normal, needed to adapt to survive, like feral instincts. But the Governor, was straight up psychotic, manipulative, killed people because it was fun. make excuses to people to mask the fact he enjoyed the bloodshed, hence the fighting pits. The Governor was my fave out the lot of them. simply because he was just straight up evil

The Governor is who Carl would’ve grown up to become. The missing eye, the cold bloodness, the willingness to do anything to protect the towns they loved (Woodbury & Alexanderia), and the Governor’s daughter being equivalent to Carl’s love for Judith. Rick could see Carl turning into the Governor. Negan could see it too which is why he called Carl a serial killer

The show is such an epic and an incredible watch for six (1-6) seasons in a row and the first episode of the next one what happened. It went from pure survival, horror and zombies to mafia and gang war and weird new enemies later on. Changed so much unfortunately. Governor and Gareth were my favorite villains. Negan is like a ruthless, crazy and a sadistic messed up comedian I couldn't take him that seriously other than being intimidating and threatening. I definitely didn't approve of Blake's wicked and evil actions but he is a force to be reckoned with and so dangerous and unpredictable. Governor and Negan were the brutal dictators in this series. I know Rick has a lot of flaws as a person and wasn't all there but he didn't stoop to brutality unless it was absolutely necessary and justified. His leadership was respected and admired by most people kind of similar to Aragorn from TLOTR. I can't say the same for Philip and Negan they did so many reckless, twisted and plain awful things. Even this theme is a banger. Governor is almost like this Jigsaw type of character so insane and manipulative. Almost no redeeming qualities. Like this Devil character in human form. Maybe the same with Negan. Woodbury would have been much better in the hands of Milton Mamet instead of this egotistical maniac.
