I wasn't always the biggest fan of Lori but at the end of the day she's a mother who sacrificed herself for her child. That speech between her and Carl kills me. Great final obviously. Also I've heard people say T-Dog being bit already means his sacrifice was less noble. Hell no that's a truly awful way to die and yet he endured it to save someone else.

I hate a lot of S8 too don’t get me wrong and I am still bummed about it HOWEVER I feel like people only look at the negatives when it comes to GOT when there are so many great things about that series just because they dropped the ball with the ending doesn’t undo all of that amazing stuff before that. ANNND TO COMPLETELY DISCREDIT ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT POURED THEIR HEARTS AND SOULS INTO MAKING SEASON 8 HAPPEN AS IF THEY HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE WRITING CHOICES IS JUST SILLY. A lot of ppl didn’t care and still hated on Lori. I think that it shows just how good she really was. Not knowing much about t dog the only thing I can measure him on his last as a person. He was willing to do that to himself for Carol. The love between everyone in this group is amazing. Ricks breaking down and yelling out about Lori rips my heart out. He is such a good actor. Her last dying words, were to her husband. Rick, well, What an amazing performance from Andrew Lincoln! Rick is obviously distraught. Now its too late. They loved each other. And they let past things get in the way. And for what exactly? Many people in real life make this same mistake. Forgiveness goes a long way. But not much help if it comes too late. I knew this episode was surely going to knock the breath right out of you both. No matter how you felt about how Lori was in the 1st 2 seasons, seeing her sacrifice herself for the baby made her an amazing mom. As I type I am visiting Senoia, GA (better known to you as the little town of Woodbury-The Governor) where the show is and has been filmed for all 9, going on 10 seasons. I got blessed by my daughter with this surprise trip! We took a tour and the guides we telling us that Andrew Lincoln is a method actor. He has to really get worked up for scenes like these either with music or reading stories from the past that will make him feel such raw emotion. When Lori said “good night love” it was improv’d in an earlier scene from this season. It is when they get to the prison and she attempted to talk to Rick and he tells her to go talk to Hershel, he’s doing thangs. Andrew Lincoln loved it so much, he asked Sarah Wayne Callies to have it be her last line and that she not be on set when Rick finds out that Lori died. The actress actually was on set to hear the scene. She went to Andrew afterwards, hugged him, and said that she was fine and well. Lori Wayne Callies said the emotion was so strong that it felt palpable. This episode feels like it reaches into your chest and tears your heart out. It is just that heartbreaking. We lost some great characters this episode! T Dog was a very underrated character. Still miss his presence. The actor, IronE Singleton is a lot like the character. Once you 2 get caught up in the series, you have got to come check out Senoia. It’s an amazing little town that is so inviting and friendly and on a cool night, it’s a location used in many other tv shows and movies such as Drop Dead Diva, Sweet Home Alabama, Fried Green Tomatoes. Interesting little tidbit, The Conjuring 3 is about to start filming now. Looking forward to your next reaction! Steve, I pray your mom is doing better. It never fails to make me tear up, the way Maggie comes out, her lips quivering, and she tried to grab Rick so he didn’t have to see what was left (I.e her stomach being ripped open and head shot). Then how Rick realizes, he pulls a Daryl and almost looks animalistic trying to find the words and read expression at the same time. And when the camera pulls away and he’s just laying there crying amongst the dead also laying on the ground... (or at least this is what I got from the scene haha) it never fails to hit hard. Loved this reaction and can’t wait for the discussion in the next episode!!

In the next video you ( Steve) mentioned that you weren't sure where Carl's head was at when he put Lori down and then just walked out looking straight ahead with no emotion. I felt the same way the first few times I watched this episode. But then something clicked for me when you heard the gunshot, Maggie jumped and Carl walked out with no expression on his face and was very deliberate with his steps. He didn't even seem to worry if there were walkers out in the hallway or not. As I watched him he actually reminded me so much of "savage" Rick, the same way Rick walked back into the prison to kill everything in sight , that's how Carl looked to me. He looked just like his dad and he was basically savage Carl at that point to me. Bless his heart. I cannot imagine any kid trying to survive during something like this but Carl isn't just surviving. He's fighting, protecting his family ( all of them are his family) and he takes charge when he has to to keep people safe. He really does amaze me and I love his character. Andrew Lincoln not being nominated for this episode is still one of the most absurd things in the entertainment business to this day. I cry no matter how many times I've seen this. Sarah Wayne Callies who played Lori also deserved a nomination imo although everybody was awesome.

I remember feeling worse for Carl than anyone else with regard to Lori's death. T-dog (T-dawg?) was shocking, of course.. but the impact the whole ordeal had on Carl is what got me. Lori did not have my respect at the time so her death did not bother me much beyond that. Peace

Yeah, the Lori hate I'll never understand. To this very day the hate for her always baffles me. She made a choice when she was scared and feeling alone. She slept with Shane. Bad decision, NO DOUBT. But going forward everything was on Shane. He even sexually assaulted her in the episode 'TS-19'. She was more than honest with him more than once that they didn't have any future. I blame Shane for Shane's actions and choices.

Trending InterActive Studios I think her acting pissed at rick in the finale of season 2 pissed a lot of people off
@BenTIStudios5 жыл бұрын
@@michaelmatejka1068 Which never made sense. She had a right to be upset. Finding out Carl was involved and everything. She wasn't mad he killed Shane. She backed away once he mentioned Carl's name. That's something commonly misconstrued.
@michaelmatejka10685 жыл бұрын
Trending InterActive Studios yeah but she was mad at Rick and pushed him away. Also when the secret of her pregnancy was revealed to Rick and they had that argument on the farm, it was selfish of Lori to not tell Rick and almost kill the child. Time and time again when she’s entrusted with keeping an eye on Carl he just ends up on his own. And her not being smart when giving Shane mixed signals I’m not saying I hate her like many do. I think she’s made dumb mistakes and I’ve got frustrated with her. She’s not a bad person or anything. And rewatching it with @duo reacts I’ve realized that more and kinda like her character now. I’m just saying that there are reasons for her not to be a favorite and for people to be frustrated.

@@BenTIStudios My not respecting her character had noting to do with her sleeping with Shane.. and everything to do with her attitude toward Rick and her not-so-bright decisions that lead to her being in situations that got others injured trying to save her. Her attitude within the prison was less than supportive and, imo, completely uncalled for. If she had lived longer she may have redeemed herself in my eyes.. but NOPE. Mind you, I have not watched these episodes in several years and am going on memory plus what few snippets get shown in these reactions.. I am 100% positive there were other instances that got under my skin.. and I am pretty sure there was at least one where I would have applauded Rick if he had shot her in cold blood himself. Peace

Yay Part 2. Andrew Lincoln's acting here is amazing. I've never seen him in a full feature movie, but this acting is the absolute best I've seen on TV, and this is one of those moments. It's not just what he said, but his behavior, his physical ability to convey feeling and emotion. AL is this show, man I don't know where they dug him up but yes, that is he, and no matter what this show does and where it goes, I stick around for AL. Don't get me wrong, the others are great too, I'm on several bandwagons. Poor TDog right? Here he is trying to stand up for the underdog and whatnot, and this is what happens to him. And Lori, I felt like a lot of what she was trying to tell Carl was coming from the mistakes she made. and that last bit, "goodnight love" was to Rick. As a mother to 4 kids born naturally and without meds, I understand her pain, I truly do, but I honestly feel they could've gotten her back out to Hershel before taking such drastic measures. This was only her second child, and although things do tend to move a little quicker after the first one, I feel like she still had enough time. But of course they didn't know the situation outside and Maggie was in a panic. Kudos to Carl for stepping up, think about how strong he has to be to be able to basically kill his own mother. I'm not even sure my kids would be able to do it (if I wasn't already a walker of course). Definitely a powerful episode, and only #4! We aren't even halfway through this season.

The problem with trying to keep Lori alive long enough to get to Hershel is the baby would be dead by then. I'm not a doctor but I know enough to realize that the blood is indicating a prolapsed cord or detached placenta. Either way the baby is not getting enough oxygen and even IRL you only have minutes to do an emergency C. Damn TWD! So good at these little details, setting up a heartbreaking situation. 💯😊🧟

1:11 Rick's face. Man. The acting really makes me /feel/ this show. That fear, terror and worry. Rick was lucky Oscar even /knew/ about the generators. Imagine if neither of those two had any idea? Imo things could have taken longer and ended up a lot worse overall, like more people might have died or been injured, or more walkers might have shown up at the fences. Lori is so strong to have been able to do this. I'm not a mother but I imagine what she did, wanting to save her unborn baby before herself, is what it feels like to be a mother. Plus, she knew a baby would be something like hope for everyone in the group that a future is possible. She chose to die in place of her baby both for the baby and for everyone. I also love how she tells all those things to Carl because she's learned from her own mistakes. She doesn't want him to go through the things she's gone through due to her own mistakes. It's sad because this was all stuff she could have taught him over time but now there is no time and she just has to let it all out right now. Tbh I felt like, as parents, that the two of you would really feel this episode. I know a lot of people don't like Lori but I really respect her and a lot particularly in this episode. Imo the worst part might even have to be that the last Carl ever heard of his mother's voice was her screaming in pain. I respect Carl a lot for this episode too, just for taking on the responsibility that he did. You can see the change in him when he walks past Maggie after shooting Lori too and how different his eyes look now compared to S1 (and S2). The ending was handled amazingly, but I also heard Andrew Lincoln had really prepared himself for this scene. The main actors involved in Lori's death have all said filming that day was extremely difficult. Whenever I see the characters reacting like they do on this show I remember how much the actors put into this show and how they really do put themselves in their characters' shoes and go through what the characters go through. Steve said it felt real, and tbh, it was. What everyone went through during that scene was real. The actors put their everything into this show and for me, that's the biggest thing that makes this show. When I first started it I had similar concerns as Steve, being unsure I would like it, but the characters and the actors really kept me going and then I loved everything. The scene at the end of this episode was just... it. That was the deal sealer for me that this show had the best actors I'd ever seen. Ngl your reactions did make me happy though. I know you guys had some reservations about Lori, but between her death and Rick's reaction to it you guys were devastated. It looked like it hit you a LOT. It's one of those things that like... you never thought you'd be this sad over Lori dying or that it would be this painful to get through. I'm glad that at the very end for her you didn't feel happy about losing her or just brush her death off. In the end she died a mother and a wife. Rick wouldn't have been that destroyed over losing her if he had just moved on already. He loved her. They had problems they didn't know how to fix yet but Lori said in a season two flashback that her and Rick married "so young". They've known each other for a very, very long time. They were family and they loved each other regardless of their marital problems. Plus, I really love Carl so seeing him and Lori have that interaction was really powerful for me. This family was just torn apart and it's so heart wrenching. Even now with how far this series is, this episode is still one of the most powerful to me. I really wish Lori had survived because I think it would be amazing to see what she could have become, but she was so brave and true in her final moments. Shoutout to T-Dog too because uh? OW? Both him and Lori had shit awful painful deaths and this poor guy got /eaten alive/. That scene where they find what's left of him is terrible to me. I mean like... imagine seeing someone you knew for like a year, someone you were friends with and had been through /all that/ with, and you see... that. Their body like that. T-Dog was a great man to have gone out like that. He knew he was done for, yeah, but that didn't mean he had to go out of his way to get eaten alive to try to save someone else. He could have made it back and died more peacefully with everyone around him, but he chose to not take the risk of a friend dying in that mess and died in the most painful way he could have just to buy her time and give her a /chance/. Dying that painfully just for a /chance/ at saving someone. I'm really not sure how many people would even have the guts to do something like that. Cheers for T-Dog, man...

What a heartbreaker. T-Dog sacrificing himself for Carol was bad enough. Lori’s long goodbye scene to Carl had me welling up. Carl shooting his own mother to keep her from turning pushed it further. Rick finding out that Lori was dead/Carl put her down just pushed it over the edge. That combined with seeing Maggie clearly devastated that she did the crude Cesarean that cost Lori her life, and goddamn. Who could be okay after seeing this episode?

Once again, a genuine, relatable reaction...you two are fantastic!

cuesegue I couldn’t even count how many times I’ve watched this episode and it still makes me cry, her telling Carl good-bye is heartbreaking and Rick’s reaction rips a persons heart out. It’s the last death that wasn’t spoiled on-line before it happened and coming in episode 4 took me totally by surprise the first time through.
