TWD trivia: The writers were going to write Carol off the show before this episode. Melissa McBride talked to the producer and writers, and convinced them to keep Carol alive, that there was a great opportunity for Carols character development. They agreed, didnt kill her off. This was a great episode! Rick's trip to Crazytown, Daryls character development and backstory is getting a huge kickstart, and Carol is saved by Daryl! Merle is a very conflicted character. He wants to be with his brother, I think he is realizing the Gov doesnt trust him, and vise versa, and Merle will do pretty much anything to get to Daryl. Great reaction guys! I think Merlekilled the kid because he said he was going to tell the Gov, and as mentioned, Merle doesnt trust him much

People often try to say, “Blood is thicker than water,” to say that family should come before all. This is an oft-misquoted line. The quote is, “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,” meaning that the strongest bonds are often formed on the battlefield. As to Merle, he’s an antagonist, but far from being a primary one. A villain can be a bastard, but still fun to watch. It’s not like Joffrey or Ramsay from GoT, where they’re supremely well-written villains, but they’re so sadistic and well-acted that you can’t stand it.

If Michonne really believed that she & Andrea weren't really free to leave Woodbury, then it's only natural that she expected them to follow her, to kill her. She was ready for them. 😉 Daryl finding Carol was THE best part of this episode. He looked so heartbroken & lost, thinking she was dead & gone. In his own way, he was grieving like Rick (but not like Rick - lol). Daryl IS the real deal. Daryl has a soft spot for broken people. Maybe because he recognizes that he's been broken a few times himself. I understand what you're saying, tho. I think most of us feel the same way about Merle. We should be offended, and we are, but Michael Rooker's delivery is so good that you forget sometimes that you should be outraged by his comments. I laughed a lot at his shit. lol Not that he should have, but I wonder what would have happened if Glenn had put up his gun and have had a conversation with Merle. Would things have escalated like it did? Great reaction! 😊🌺🏝️❤️

I am having so much fun going on this journey with you guys! When The Walking Dead was rather new up thru season 6, AMC would do week long marathons of all seasons and I would watch them in getting ready for the new season to premiere. Now we are about to launch season 10 in 59 days, getting to see your faces light up like kids at Christmas is a real treat for me. Up to this point Merell is more of an antihero, meaning he is on the Governor's side, but still has love for Daryl. You can see this when Andrea asked him if the Governor was a good man, and Merle hesitated for a moment before saying yes he is a good man. I think Merell questions some of the Governor's actions. Keep up the great reaction! Love and Prayers from Dallas Texas!

It opens up this box of all these questions and social commentary. But when you really think about it... we can't really answer any of these questions... because almost NONE of us know how we would react in a situation like this... or what kind of people we would be in extreme situations. I tell most people that if TWD happened in real life... I would like Michonne or Maggie... a total badass.... I even OWN a Katana.... but lets be real here.... if that shit ever REALLY happened... I would be one of the first to go out... probably trying to protect my kids... cause this is the real world. But then again maybe I would be a badass... I have no idea. ~ Lacey

I think the red zone is the area zombies will go towards since they compromised their location by the sound of gunshots.

Tyree Jacobs Yeah, that's a great thought. I never considered it before but that makes perfect sense. ♡

Many people say "How could Michonne find the prison so fast", blames it on bad writing and so on, but the fact is, we don't know what Michonne has been doing before this, perhaps she's been at the prison before several times.

I recall her saying... in the next episode that goes up tomorrow... that she heard them talking about the prison, and that it was a straight shot... and then when she was talking to Beth, she said she thought this place was overrun... So she had probably been by there at some point in the past, and knew it was probably the only prison around. - Lacey

I don’t remember if you’re pro wrestling fans, but Merle is that “heel” (bad guy) that walks that fine line between “babyface” (good guy) and heel. Even when he’s a heel, he’s so over-the-top that he’s likable and still a fan favorite. A lot like The Undertaker in WWE. He can be downright evil, but still a fan favorite because of the nature of his character.
