Perhaps not as different as you think. This is the ending that was promoted in the comics. Rick taking over the 'Commonwealth' can become Rick taking over CRM. Remember that both Morgan & Dwight are heading to Virginia and Morgan intends to find Rick... AGAIN! Carl is gone but then there's RJ and Negan is (to my distress) very much alive. Dwight was very important in the _take over of the Commonwealth._ Daryl is in ANOTHER COUNTRY... stuck there and Carol is on her way to find him (in the comic she died at the Prison). That gives the 'Original Dwight' comic character space to be who he was in the Comics. Some are saying they have already been 'greenlighted' for a SECOND season, I wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be true.

The dream-state Michonne scenes were a smart addition for the story that they're attempting to tell. Would a man who is trying desperately to get home to his family NOT dream about his family?? ;) lol He's depressed, tired, somewhat defeated and his dreams are trying him to his past - and yet in a more appealing/pleasing backdrop.... they ARE his DREAMS, after all. ;) And dreams are often odd - yet with an occasional message or meaning. Michonne telling Rick that he isn't "stuck" for example... kind of a heady subliminal pep talk, if you will. :) Those scenes were purpose-filled and logical. The audience should see the Michonne character outside of running around, killing Walkers and saving Rick - although one might say that these images that he was dreaming up, WERE saving him, in a way. ;) My two cents. 😎
@Pfruit09165 ай бұрын
💯agree. Rick is defeated at this point. His life is a cycle of misery & he misses his wife desperately. He’s always said how lucky he felt having found her & how she led. So to me it makes perfect sense that he’d dream up peaceful uncomplicated moments where he meets her & just gets to be with her. Also her repeatedly saying “I believe in you” and “are you where you want to be” is definitely his subconscious using her to push him forward.

The band thing was dealt with so interestingly to me. Because during the actual main show they sorta teased him maybe loosing it on several occasions, but it got to a point where everyone sorta figured that if they were going to do it then they already probably would have when he’d actually lost it in the comics. But they didn’t. And then in this series he just does it so fast and out of no where. It’s not even because he got bit or anything like that. But I loved it because it made his escape feel so desperate. And then he doesn’t even escape too, it’s just wild.

It was really fascinating watching you guys discuss this at the end because it was like seeing the distinct two different types of TV viewers, those who like character and atmosphere and those who like lore and scope. I find it fascinating because in the era of spin-offs and universes it feels like everybody can find something to enjoy in these, but are also frustrated by certain elements on each side as well. I can see why you guys both made your case for what you felt about it, especially with Greg saying he wishes it would slow down. I feel like if he had watched all these years at the fandom's pace he'd feel different though. Also, I like that someone else liked World Beyond, cute is the same exact word I used to discuss it. Also, I'm glad we're all on the same page that Fear became total trash, lmao. But if Greg really liked Season 10C he should give Fear a shot, he'd probably really enjoy it. Good discussion. Excited for upcoming episodes.
