They need to record a new album. They’re too good to go on long hiatus.

Lovely vid to watch. Saw them at Koko in London last week and they were absolutely brilliant - Hamilton Leithauser is clearly living his very best life, and it was amazing to see/hear/experience

You & Me is one of my favorite albums ever. Packed with amazing 50's/60's era sounding tunes.

Man in the early 2000s their music was a big part of my life. It was such a dark time for pop music, but bands like The Walkmen were a ray of light. Just saw today that they are touring again??!

I remember seeing them in 2004 right up against a small stage and I couldn't get over just how happy Matt was while playing. Just a huge smile the whole time. What an great show that was (I vaguely remember Hamilton having a Jazzmaster).

I want to know about their use of tape machines on the early stuff! I always loved the manipulated sounds of the piano on tracks like Stop Talking

"This sounds more like a vacuum cleaner" and I start laughing. Then he plays two notes from the vacuum cleaner and I'm tearing within 2 seconds, holy shit.

I found them 10 yrs ago on a live show on KCRW...Or maybe I heard we've been had first then saw their kcrq show. I like a few of their songs and the kcrw show seemed to feature all of them. It was off the Heaven album. What's the song Hamilton whistles in?❤❤❤❤

I have lost SO many guitars due to some crap guitar techs in NYC...I have also saved some "dead amps" via some NYC techs. All back in the 2000's. Moral of the story: send your stuff out of state (NY state).

Wow, does this bring me back... I saw these guys back around 1999 or 2000 when they played at Luna Lounge on Ludlow Street in NYC. I think it was during the CMJ Convention at that time.

Sorry, sorry sorry.....we used to open up for the Walkmen in the early 2000's....the drummer....OH MY GAWD, that drummer. He would beat the drums like they were step-children. He would beat them like Steven Drowd was a "sissiy" (in the 90's). You were always worried that a drum would fall off it's stand or just explode. It was honestly half of the magic...great tunes and/or a bomb on the verge of explosion. PS:: saturated spring reverb is still the way to go...just my 2 cents.

I'm having a Mandela moment. Didn't the bassist and keys player switch?
@mattguerra Жыл бұрын
they did, I think between Bows + Arrows and A Hundred Miles Off. When I saw them in April they switched back and forth depending on the song.
