I think wall chicken activated rabbit twice because it is technically adding a perk and stats so the rabbit sees it as two foods and triggers twice.

If you listen closely, the wall chicken DOES make 2 eating sounds, so it’s probably the ailment and stat boost are technically separate

I guarantee it's that they made it do to things by calling the same code as the other foods just twice. I don't know their code, but there's at least two functions or two classes for food. Some programmer needed to make this one do both things, so he just used both, not realizing that it would make the "food eaten" hook also get called twice.

The wall chicken being 2 foods actually makes a lot of sense. its the first food that does both (change stat, apply perk/ailment) so in code there's either 2 food functions or 2 food objects and they made this one by just using both. its easy to see how that happened

I assume the wall chicken double triggers as it does 2 effects and the trigger on rabbit is any single effect on a pet? So stat boost is trigger 1, weakness is trigger 2?

My understanding is that hippocampus adds attack whenever a pet gains health, not only when it eats food, hence when the bison gave its self +2/+2, it gave itself health to trigger hippocampus.

its not broken it says give +3 attack and give weakness, thats two procs on one item by the way its technically worded, i dont think its broken, i think its supposed to be that way. its 1 item with 2 distinct effects. so rabbits giving +1 for the +3 then also giving +1 for the weakness (which seems to be calculated as a perk, and not as a de-buff)
