Great demo. Just got mine last week. Agreed that for the price it would have been so good to have some kind of expression control ability over TRS and or midi. But I guess it is what it is. The pedal sounds great. Running it in my Kemper Head effects loop with a JHS Flight Delay in front. What I love about the Sloer is how it does NOT get in the way of other pedals or whatever you throw at it but instead it wraps itself around whats in front or feed into the pedal and makes it Sloer. So good. One of my other reverbs clutters the overall sound sometimes as opposed to do what the Sloer does, the Sloer becomes the foundation on where everything else lays on. I wish the foot switches were a little closer too.

That's a bad ass synth. Awesome pedal too

This sounds really nice, that demo at the start is beautiful! I think sloer is going to be such a great match with the fable, or other granular pedals like the microcosm or particle 2. I remember during your fable overview, you hinted at maybe making a comparison between the fable and the red panda particle. I would love to see that comparison now that you have had both for a while!

Thanks for the suggestion! When I have the energy I would love to do that video.

I love the Sloer on synths. There aren’t a lot of videos of it used on synths, so it’s always great to find another. Thanks. BTW, all the algorithms have sustain but only the Dream algo has it latchable. For the others, it sustains only when holding the button down. Now to find your Fable review as now I’m intrigued by it.

I really like this video as you have used the Sloer with a synth. I will be replacing my Blue Sky for a Slöer.

Great❤ Can Microcosm replace this two pedals?

Very cool, but I would be more interested in a stereo Fathom. Slö and Slöer aren't my cup of tea, but this new stereo version is a fine release for fans - mono reverbs aren't the best use of reverb at all, in my opinion, but I can understand it being an unavoidable limitation in FX loops depending on a guitarist's setup (I'm strictly a synth/keyboard user, though, and haven't gotten back into performing publicly since the pandemic "ended"). About the Walrus R1, I imagine that your headphone brings out the treble harshness. I noticed it, too, though it is less noticeable depending on the settings and if you chain it with another reverb (which I tend to). You use a DT700, if I recall correctly? Beyerdynamic closed headphones, like most others, have a big 10kHz peak and potentially some lower treble harshness and boost. I recommend routing your headphone through a separate device with an EQ between the headphone amp and your mixer to flatten out that Beyer treble. Not even the open-back Beyers are free of issues. Other closed headphones from other brands will not have audio fidelity as high as the Beyer, not even the pricier stuff, so I would think twice about swapping out that Beyer. Then some headphones, like the Shure SRH1540 as one example, may have other issues with their sound, such as too much added reverb from their mediocre construction and some bad upper midrange resonance (in addition to lower fidelity versus closed Beyers). My preferred closed headphones are my M-Audio HDH-50 and Pioneer HRM-7. I had an old DT770 that I swore by for almost a decade, but sold it a few years ago. If I want more fidelity, I grab my Sennheiser HD650 or my old Austrian-built AKG K701. Anyway, I had no idea that the R1 got an update, I will have to check that out. I still love and use mine, as well as my Walrus Descent. I'm definitely a Walrus Audio fan because of these two awesome reverb pedals.

I use dt 700x pro x for my main mixes. I have noticed the harshness on my main listening pair which are a hd660s and also on my krk monitors as well. I have read multiple people having issues with harshness especially on the use of a guitar as the source signal.

Love your content! Do you think this pairs well with the Meris LVX? Considering rolling with those two as my only hardware effects pedals for a while to use with my synths. Actually, I guess that begs the question: if you could only have one delay and reverb pedal for all of your synth needs, which would you choose?

I think for my usage I would have an empress echo system and a Strymon night sky if I could only have one of each. But even with that I would be tempted to add a cloud burst or sloer to the mix... The soruce audio ventris could pair well with any delay as well and be an only reverb in my setup. You need to use the editor though to make it sound really good.
