Mary is extraordinary. It's wonderful how appreciative she is for her life's blessings. Being part of a show as beloved as the Waltons I can understand how she is so proud of her involvement in the show. It's gratifying to see her display such appreciation for the fans and for her costars whom she developed lifelong friendships with. In fact all the Waltons cast have been so connected with their fans. Judy, as a 50 year fan of the Waltons, I really appreciate your desire to allow your fans an opportunity to share in your memories. It means so much to so many. Keep it going!

This was so heart warming Judy snd Mary. It is also funny to hear how you felt about scenes, hair etc that you felt could have been done differently. I did kind of wonder why more effort didn’t go into doing authentic hair styles for Elizabeth, Erin and Mary Ellen., though in the end the quality of the show still shines through it all. Thank you Mary for sharing your memories and thoughts. I have one of your books and need to go finish it! Love your writing! Best wishes on the new book! Thanks Judy for putting this together !💖

Hard to believe 50 years have passed since The Waltons. Watching you both got me thinking about why people today look so much younger than just 2 generations ago. I look at pictures of my parents and grandparents at my age and think ... do I look that old ? I remember seasons 8 and 9 and the scenes of the girls wearing the tight jeans of the 80s and I agree with your statement that the network was trying to stay with the times to gain viewers. I chuckled at Mary's Wow, oh, wow memory. Its funny the things from the past that stick with us. Enjoyed hearing all your memories! ✌

Very special. And heartfelt. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to grow up and still have to adhere to a certain range of dialog on the show and to be told "not to question it". Frustrating and at times helpless. But from that came a good bit of humor and laughter, as well. "Hollywoodland" can be pretty quirky!

Its so nice watching you two hanging out together even though you are not physically together. Surprised to hear Mary was scolded for making suggestions by the asst director in the later seasons but I suppose this was a sign of the times and how things were changing in relation to the production of the show. Absolutely love the episode where she dressed as a Southern Bell. Funny how she talked about one with her and Paul Northridge and right after I watched this it was time for the Walton’s on Me TV and it was the episode where she first met Paul. Love you guys. Agree w/all appreciative comments. + Speaking up, even when there’s backlash - as closed systems often inflict - still moves the needle forward! Not forgetting, silence continues to be routine where exclusion is imposed. Thank you, Mary, for your advocacy supporting open dialogue. Also this, as other examples, suggests The Waltons may have been able to continue with its earliest strengths had the Corporate structure valued Cooperation with the Creative more than simple hierarchy. I’m so glad Mr. Hamner originally had cooperation and you, as a team, say he supported that with cast & crew, too. Great to see your happiness & closeness. Thrive on & Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for sharing, Judy! Mary made wonderful contributions and continues to do so. Always felt a connection with Mary, her SFV roots, sensing her influence in the use of Northridge, that would become Erin's married name on The Waltons; if true, glad the production team listened and took her suggestion.

Dear Judy, thank you again for sharing more of your conversation with Mary. I was right, I CAN listen to the two of you talk for hours and I enjoyed every minute of it. You two just click so well. I love watching your faces as you talk to each other. The affection for each other just shines through. I am so glad Mary mentioned her part on "The New Adventures of Old Christine." I have loved her character on that show for years. She was so good at being so bad! Just wonderful. The two of you are just delightful. If you would like to do more of these talks with each other, please know you have at least one interested fan. Can't wait for your next video. Your videos (and you) (and Mary) (and any others of the "Waltons" family) make my days brighter. Peace always.

And now we are all learning so much more with these candid interviews and all of the cast members keeping the show alive! Mary mentioned that Richard asked her why she didn’t tell them what was going on and she said she was trained not to and it didn’t seem safe. That was the culture for most people back then for many reasons and generations before, not only in Hollywood Land. I hope Mary records her her books (she records them herself) for Audible as that would be a good outlet. Right now I only see a couple of them listed there and they are narrated by someone else. You two are about the age of my older siblings and I was the youngest, so it is fabulous to see you reminiscing about your alternate Waltons family experiences as if they were just as real as me and my siblings talking about our growing up years and what is going on today (and if we dare to feel safe to spill any secrets). Sometimes they slip out.

This is a real thrill to see! I just happened for no particular reason to start streaming the Waltons on Freevee, and found myself remembering watching the later season eps as a kid, and being enthralled with them. So I skipped ahead to Season 9, and found the episodes are *so* well-written and immersive. Even with the departure of the parents, I so wish it could have continued on another few years (as a series, that is). And, too funny! I just the other night was watching Mary Ellen in the episode where she was determined to go to medical school, I think, and all I could think in one scene of Judy was, "Nothing comes between me and my Calvins," lol. I noticed the same thing. Something with Happy Days, Waltons, all period piece shows in the late 1970s/early 80s that seemed to stop trying for style/fashion accuracy. And, yet, at least with the Waltons, there are some episodes in the 9th season where the effort is truly strived for. It doesn't feel like anything is missing in the final season (with the absence of now both Ralph Waite and Michael Learned), because the cast and writing and storylines are SO good. Could write forever, but one thought. They made a "reboot" movie last year that they hoped would be turned into a series. Speaking for myself, what we'd really love to see is a limited (or not so limited!) series that picks up with you, Mary, the other siblings, and Michael Learned. You are the reason we tune in, and why it endures. Thanks for the joy you've all brought!

Said to a very dear friend of mine, "Why was I drawn to the Waltons after so many years? Not to mention the final season? It was never something that would ever enter my mind." In retrospect, it really saved my life. Was in a very dark corner over the last year with more loss than I seemed to be able to handle. There were some key episodes in there about love and compassion. What's funny is, watching it on Freevee, it's occasionally spattered with 2022 ads. I find I have to mute them. The messaging in the ads seems so out of place and so foreign to the wisdom in the show that *actually* helps lives and saves them. We really live in such different times now. For whatever reason, when my faith was really at its lowest ebb, some thought entered to watch the Waltons, unconscious and silly as it seemed at the time. It really saved me. Thankful. If you ever get that series that lets us see where the Walton clan is (in I'm guessing the 1990s or so, going on shifting timelines), I can only pray the writers sourced to do it have this same innate wisdom and kindness for all people that seems so lacking in these current times.
