The Wanderings of Hurin - The Forgotten Silmarillion Chapter

In this episode, we look at The Wanderings of Hurin. Meant to bridge the gap between the Children of Hurin and the Ruin of Doriath, the Wanderings of Hurin was never finished by Tolkien, and never featured in the published version of the Silmarillion. It would only eventually be published in the War of the Jewels, 18 years after the release of the Silmarillion.

At least we know from the "The Drúedain" chapter of _Unfinished Tales_ that some Brethil folk survived to travel to Númenor. With them went enough Drûgs to form a viable population which stayed there until the later Second Age.

There are some real gems buried in HoME, particularly those later volumes. This is one that I really wish had made it into The Silmarillion. I do like this sort of video that covers things rarely, if ever, brought up. I'm not sure if this suggestion fits in that category but I'd love something on more specifically what Gandalf was doing in Middle-Earth before the events of The Hobbit.

Hey there, another great video here. I was hoping to make a request, would you be interested in making a video on the gladden fields? I'm a project leader for Minecraft Middle Earth and have been assigned this region, I'm having some trouble sorting out the lore since it goes into Tolkien letters as well as the Hunt for the Ring chapter in the Unfinished tales. Apparently J.R.R Tolkien or Christopher Tolkien have collectively written 4 different manuscripts concerning the hunt for the ring, one of which suggests that the Stoors might not have fled or been killed, I'm trying to figure out whether I should make the region uninhabited or inhabited and I'm also trying to sort out what has happened to the Stoors of the Gladden fields. Thanks for reading this, I hope youll find it to be an interesting topic.

You might also want to ask the same question to Girl Next Gondor. Her and Darth Gandalf are by far my two favourite Tolkien channels, and she (GNG) has incredibly deep lore knowledge. Even the other Tolkien channel owners look up to her in that regard. I hope you find the help you need! Cheers!

Although I guess that you know this already, I'll say it anyway: Elrond and Elros are part of all the Edain and Noldor bloodlines (some Sindar and Vanyar, too), therefore the House of Haleth lives on in them. But you probably wanted to know more about "proper" Haladin, right?

Tale of Hurin, Tale of Turin is best that Tolkien wrote himself in his own words, Tolkien was angered that finn tried to try get piece of glory by saying that the Turin is stolen from kalevala char. I am with Tolkien if character does same action does not mean that it is stolen, action is universal the tale is Tolkien that he made for brits to have fable not finn

It wasn't Turin who was cursed it was Hurin- no man in the legendarium has come close to the ruin and death Hurin brings when he is set free by Morgoth. It's an interesting story but it would have better if it had been completed- and if the 1950-51 version of the Fall of Gondolin had been completed.

It's Morgoth's hatred at work and yet... yeah, it is hard to digest. Húrin in this makes some quite dark choices. Almost like Tolkien wrote a chapter from a sadistic view 😅

PS: in finnish books they still try to steal the glory and talk about kalevala and spesific character there related to turin on Tolkien's books when he said NO this is my story. I swear when i read that and readed those finns trying to hog glory on his book back page i would have wanted to return the book to library the back of the book burned
