The next god to awaken is Gork/Mork. Ghazghkull wants Angrons head and he'll find him one way or another. They have an epic fight upon Armageddon, culminating in Gork/Mork coming alive. One will aid in banishing Angron, and with the strong latent psychic ability of Orks onky heightened by the birth of their gods, Ghazghkull will be able to Banish Angron for a longer period of time than 8 days. The other Ork god will go to Octarius and aid a new Overfiend against the Swarm lord. They destroy the Hive fleet tendrils and now the Orks are a major player in the universe that can oddly counter Chaos.

You can give me any of those reasons and I’ll poke a hole in it, the point is to make it believable not realistic. The orks not wanting to attack Terra too early or else it won’t be a “propa foight” works just as well as the necrons not using their existing tech to make key strikes at leaders of factions. If the celestial aurary can be used to tap out specific things and not just planets, then just delete the palace. Yeah it’ll shake up the timeline, but that doesn’t matter for an immortal. The only reason being they’re just petty and busy dealing with eachother. Neither actually make any sense if you want realistic, but are believable. If you want realistic then i assume 40k isn’t the best place to look and the fact you’re here in the comments tells me you at least like the setting. I agree the orks being that powerful is too much for the imperium to handle but it’s also just as unlikely that they pick terra first. What’s a tiny, not every fighty ooman compared to a necron, or another super ork? At that point we just become the tau but scaled up. We can make anything happen in the lore with a good enough writer. I just don’t think that GW will actually hire one that can write a story like that with those motives that doesn’t have a fuck load of other problems. That’s my objection to it, not that it’s unreasonable in a vacuum

The Silent King gathering his massive armies and going after Angron and Khorne kind of makes the most sense. Also I can't see Gork and Mork actually showing up but maybe just for a brief period they stop fighting each other giving Ghazgul and his giant Waaaagh a huge power boost as they invade Imperium Nihilus. I think the Tyranid and Tau will stay away for most of it not really needing to get too involved unless Chaos invade Tau space or The Tyranid Chaos killing fleet encounter Angron. The only other idea would be Trayzn finally seeing just how screwed the galaxy is and how half of it has almost already fallen to chaos decides to unleash the monsters in his museum 1 by 1 including The Eldar super soldier leading Eldrad in a massive Eldar attack. The Krork joining Ghazgul and begining to form a new council of beasts. Clone Fulgrim leads a massive crusade of all the astartes chapters Trayzn has locked away making him have a super legion.

Sorry, but that story seems really far fetched. Magnus has always been an arrogant fool. Its part of his character. He's the archetype for "being too smart for your own good" Robute is the level headed son. He'd never bend a knee to him. He was a traitor, doesn't matter why he turned traitor the action itself is unthinkable to him. Magnus is to arrogant to accept his failures gilly would never care if he even did.

I don't want the Emperor to wake up the Lion personally, but to somehow let Guilliman know he's there, and then for Guilliman to have to make his way into The Rock, convince the Dark Angels to let him in to it's darkest depths so that he may search for and awaken his brother. @Typharius personally, I'm convinced that it may end up being what happens or at least hes a part of the Lions return. The identity and motives of Cipher are still a mystery, whilst he's been accredited to helping the traitor legions bit he's also helped the imperium and his former legion. He rescued Guilliman and warned the DA of traps yet in their ignorance ignored them and he's also left important lost artifacts of the legion for them to find one specifically I think is the Lion's helm. Traditionally, the role of Lord Cypher was to protect the old Order/legions traditions and standards and in a way this mysterious Cipher by protecting the shattered lions Sword and once thought lost artifacts etc is fulfilling that role. It will be interesting to see how the lore fleshed him out in the upcoming new book and the events progress to the Lion's awakening.

To be honest, I want to see the rise of the Orks finally happen! Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, upon finally discovering the location of Angron launches the WAAAGH to end all WAAAGHs to avenge Bale Eye's death. This buys Dante and Imperium Nihilis time to try and find another beacon (which the Alpha Legion mysteriously provides). Detonating their Warp Drives to breach into Immaterium, they burn their way through the warp in search of Khorne's domain. After encountering numerous other Chaos champions and nearly dying, Gork and Mork show themselves directly and provide support in Ghazghkull's hour of need. After encountering Russ, and accidentally freeing Isha, the finally find Khorne's domain. Awaiting them however, is Khorne, Angron, AND Tuska with his warband who have ascended into Kroks. Would Ghazghkull and his warband, Russ, Isha and Gork and Mork be enough to stop Angron, Khorne, Tuska and his Krok warband, and all of Khorne's champions?

One question I have is how did Fleet Quartus cross the Great Rift? They were in the Solar Segmentum but the Malak system was in the Nihilus part of the galaxy. Was it because of the Choral Engine? If so then there must have been more crossings across the galaxy. This has me perplexed as the whole narrative is you cannot cross the Great Rift safely and Guilliman is trying to find a way with Cawl to do so, yet here we have a Quartus doing just that....

I thought it obvious the next major threat from chaos will be Slaanesh. Which makes sense because it means Roboute finally gets a chance to get even with Fulgrim for "killing" him ten thousand years ago. Which while I don't think will lead to a Lionel awakening(I mean that'd be great but they've been sitting on that Luther's escaped the Lion's healed thread for like 5 years now and GW has been known to leave this bits for years at a time like the Emperor's failing life support systems) but what I do think is the Imperium might start to embrace a more open alliance with Aeldari aided by Roboute. Slaanesh poses a major threat to their entire race. If they are given a chance to weaken the pleasure god and move forward to saveing their souls from damnation they'd be fools not to take it. Even the Drukhari and Harlequins would probably be willing to be pitch in.

It’s very obvious khorne runs on artificial violence, aka, fights that started that didn’t need to. Like 2 beings choosing to fight when they could have talked. It doesn’t seem likely that he gets any power from bloodshed not actually associated with a psychic presence and would be based on emotion, as all of the warp is. This means khorne isn’t a catch all blood god that truly doesn’t care where it comes from. If the blood spilled in hunting for survival, in a species either not being connected to the warp or only having a limited connection, then khorne would be a lot more broad in scope than he is. He never says bring me the pelt of the finest deer, he says bring me skulls because that implies actual warfare. This is also the only context bloodshed in general can have any major pyschic influence. Getting cut while you work may sting but you’ll forget about it soon. Having to kill or be killed in warfare is what caused the emotions khorne is fed by. He isn’t really a blood god, he’s a god of violence or else other ways to make blood flow would have a much bigger impact on his being. At the very least it’s only the emotions of those at war that give him his personality. On another note considering the nature of the warp even if say Khorne was created years after the fist time blood was spilt in existence due to the laws of the warp he could very well exist before that. Meaning even if what we call khorne now existed before the feedback loop of power to bloodshed was created, it could only ever interact with reality through those that affects and proportionally to the amount and severity. The warp before the war in heaven was peaceful, if khorne existed then it wasn’t in any meaningful way that could influence the warp or real space around it. If the old ones had to fight the chaos gods so long ago the war in heaven would literally have been them fighting those gods, in the warp. Instead we have the cannon war in heaven that is likely what created enough psychic energy of any specific amount to kickstart the feedback loop. In the warp, things may exist in a quasi superposition, but the same way we can’t tell if the state of Schrödinger’s cat until it’s is observed. This means we don’t know what form, or type of existence khorne held in the times we KNOW he didn’t have enough power to be active. The eldar empire having at least 59 million 995 thousand years after the war in heaven ended and the fall of the Eldar began, that at the time, there wasn’t enough war to fuel khorne enough to act as the actual psychic power in the galaxy had their own gods and didn’t fight itself very often. That’s also why one particularly powerful psychic race could create a new god. Regardless of the form khorne takes, we know for sure that without bloodshed he can’t exist. Time doesn’t end in the warp, or start, but rather, he’s both active and inactive, in existence and not, dying off and being born, all at once. For him that’s fine but for us that’s an issue. We have to have an outside force causing us to see what we see as khorne now. It’s likely he always exists but only ever becomes what we see when the criteria are met. You need to spill a lot of blood before it’s even possible for one state to be so fueled up that it can influence another reality. Basically, khorne has always existed, but not in any meaningful way, and only if we keep fighting. If we don’t, then he reverts to a superposition state where he may continue the great game with chaos, but not be powerful to pierce the veil. This could be a pattern or it could be this is just the firsts time anyone has fought enough to allow this that also haven’t killed everting so fast the effect stops before it’s useful. It’s like taking 100000000 skulls will do it but doing by destroying all life instantly like the scale of war in the war in heaven, Where entire races were deleted, then khorne might have very brief moments of being active in real space and this time being the only time everyone is killing eachother without super weapons that kill faster than power growth.

Its strikes me that Rowboat & Puddy-tat are not particularly well versed in psychic power or knowledge. GW have made a point of Corax having not only becoming some kind of warp entity unto himself but that his current level of mastery over the warp and its energies would be a huge bonus to the Imperium either side of the immaterium. I would still like to see him and the Wolf King travelling the warp together (can you say "buddy movie?") but it would make a lot of sense for Corax to appear giving chase Angron and co leaving the immaterium

I’m sad I got into 40k after the Horus heresy happened. It would’ve been so hype to be into it then and wonder wth is gonna possibly happen next. I hope there is another huge battle/ event in 40k on the same scale as that. I love all the primarchs. Well except maybe lorgar. I’d love to see all the remaining ones clash once more or something. I just miss them being unified in a sense. Even if it’s unified with a few against the rest I’d still be happy. If we say that each space marine that died in the service of the Emperor impoweres the primarch they originate from. Then we could see 1. dead primarchs possing space marines to help for a short time. 2. A tug of war for the fallen primarchs spirits. (War hounds fighting in the name of Angron as he was before the nails.) I would love to see the Emperor command that they fallen gene-seed be use to create new chapters. ( A War of the Souls sernerio) Of Course the fallen primarchs will not be redeemed in this War of the Souls. Just weaken them lore wise so they can got on too big a rampage. Also this way we could get a Fulgrim vs Ferrus rematch. Demon primarch vs primarch possessed Iron Hands Captain / champion. Again Ferrus would only be back for a short time and the Iron Hand would be dead no matter the outcome of the rematch. And it would also be a cool table top rule to be able to counter Demon Fulgrim with a Iron Hands Captain.
