I was out in the Middle East, staying in a top-tier hotel, whilst waiting for an elevator I was speaking with another eloquent gentleman who spoke the most perfect English however he himself was Arabian. We admired each other's watches and as we entered the elevator, he asked where I was from, I responded the UK, he retorted, English?. I replied Scottish and he replied "the same"..he would not speak further with me and it was clear he absolutely had no love nor affection for Brittish people. I recall he was actually angry with me. Such a contrast to our earlier conversation which was extremely friendly. I had a lesser similar occurrence in Duba, again staying at a top tier hotel, at the rooftop pool I was ignored after a couple of guys realised I was from the UK.

I don't think Russia will use a nuke, tactical or otherwise. They're too intelligent, patient, and determined to win, to do that. They will up intensity of the war with conventional forces. They may have to change from slow methodical attrition warfare to something more like the big arrow offensives of WW2 perhaps. I wish you all good luck anyway. Edit: Russia could also respond by giving the Houthis modern anti ship missiles, and other actions along those lines. The response really doesn't have to be nuclear. NATO missiles in Ukraine aren't going to change the outcome of the war there. No need to launch nukes.

Putin might lash out at Poland or another NATO member. Even using conventional forces, this action would trigger Article 5. The Doomsday Clock must be only a few seconds to midnight at this point.
