Damn, I've been using Final Verdict at 5 holy power the whole expansion. No wonder my dps was so bad, I coulda been doing way more Final Verdicts. I came back this expansion after quitting in Cataclysm, so I have the max holy power = use Tempars Verdict ingrained in my brain. I only realised after reading the tooltip for both Divine Storm and Final Verdict that they only use 3 holy power, and the damage doesnt increase if you use more - tested on a dummy and noticed and almost facepalmed xD

@LightbladeGaming Hey :) I need you help please: 1.: Do you know if the effect of our new mastery (Highlords Judgment) can only hit the main target or all 5 targets, when Blessed Champion is talented, where Crusader Strike and Judgment hit an additional 4 targets? 2.: How much priority has the Judgment debuff (Greater Judgment) in our rotation (ST + AOE)? For example: If we have 4 or 5 Holy Power, but the Judgment debuff isn't on our target, should we use Judgment (and overcapp on Holy Power, but gain the extra damage) or use our Holy Power Spender (and not waste Holy Power, but not utilize the extra damage debuff)? What has higher priority (and/or does more damage)? Thanks in advance 🫡

1- each hit has an individual chance to proc highlords so if you ever get to 100% chance all your targets hit by judgement will also get hit by our mastery 2- This should happen very rarely since we use the double debuff judgement but if it happens just send the spender without the judgement debuff since its very likely also buffed with other things like blessing of dawn, try to spend as soon as you build mostly, as for the builders that do the most damage in m+ its blade of justice spam this like it owes you money after that its judgment and at the end is hammer of wrath very rarely youll press this in aoe in single target it goes a bit higher over judgement

Thanks for the guide. Wondering what is your take is on the class/spec tier list posted on Wowhead, given how popular rets are and how most groups like to gate keep based on perceived spec strength, I think we are going to be in for a hard time finding pug groups to do content with.

Shame the single target is absolute trash atm. I have both Ret Pally & Fury at 588 ilvl and my Fury is up 150k above Ret on single target 5 minute dummy testing (and Raidbot sims), and we're going into Raid tomorrow with this tuning. Ret needs MINIMUM something like 25-30% buff on Final Verdict (pve only) & possibly Hammer of Wrath also, or it's not even close to other specs.

That 25-30% buff on final verdict is bad if u play templar, most of ur dps is from hammer of light and ur not really pressing final verdict

@@tony9099 Its been patched, we're back to getting just the single HoL & then the free proc, so we're using Final Verdict a lot more again as Templar & it's the best way to buff ST without touching AoE or anything else, and make it PvE only to no affect PvP. But it needs to be a massive buff to even make a difference, these little 3-5%'s won't do it

With the changes blizz did to our mastery they intend for us to scale better with more gear a consequence of this is that we start a bit slow, all things considered we are in a decent place atm, sadly i dont think theyll buff our single target mostly because we are probably going to look great these first weeks of raiding, we thrive in prog weeks because ppl die and we get free wings

Good guide, just a thought I think that the df mastery rune is much better than the attack power rune that we can get in tww we are gaining 1% mastery above 460 attack power

empyrian power offers a higher chance to procc wings and divine purpose, had some moments today, spamming divine storm 6 times in a row ending up with almost 3 mio dps after a 7t pack.

Wait, wait...using Templar, wouldn't it be better to use Avenging Wrath: Might for the Crit chance increase, especially for Wrathful Descent? As opposed to getting more Haste? Also, Strength is now better than Mastery which was the very reason Mastery was nerfed by 10%.

Can I have your opinion. I'm currently 607. In raids I'm not doing damage as some rets a little higher or at my ilvl. I look at details and we have the same spell damage in the same order so I don't think it's my rotation but sometimes they have more final verdicts or dawnlight than me. Is this a haste issue? There was a 587 ret in a normal raid and I was 605 and he was topping charts with what he said was I think over 7k haste?

theres a lot of variables in play but yes haste is more valuable in raids for us and having more of it means more blessing of anshe procs because of dot ticks and more spells in general also helps with sustain damage, a good place to be in raids its around 20% haste

yeah have the enemies between you and your dawnlight targets when the lines are up, it shouldnt be a problem because they do have a hitbox that is bigger than they look as long as your kinda near them you should be able to hit them

it depends on your dawnthread uptime it its 60%+ then dawnthread is better if its lower then that then 1 weapon and 1 dawnthread is good

Have we confirmed or figured out why Hammer can be used multiple times. For 3 days over the weekend, I could spam it whenever it was up and I had 5 HP. Now, after changing back to it to try and test between it and Herald...I can use it once and then I can't again?? Anyone have any idea?

Because it's once again dust gathering forgotten spec and yeah I know there are changes coming in 20th anniversary patch but while surv gets 1 change in same time others get 1-10 so that's kinda unfair the spec is lacking big time compared to majority :D

Have you experienced the HoL bug? It used to be Wake of Ashes ,then use HoL afterwards when Templar, however, since the patch, I have been able to use it repeaditly after using Wake of Ashes, also sometimes getting a proc to use it. Not sure if this is intended, but I have used HoL 4 times in a row, as long as you have enough HP.

They just Ripd our dawnlight by 15% so thats hurts herald and they are reworking us, any time pally is ever decent, not even the best we get shit on. Blizzard has never allowed ret to be any where near the top. But vokers and mage and all these classes that pump are left to do it.

That's crazy because right now, the mage is getting dumped on the DPS charts. The arcane mage has such a complex rotation it's takes 3 minutes. Yet the best mage players are mid ranked DPS on the charts. Frost was made into a very easy instant cast but it reliance on RNG is vomit compared to other classes. Why is the mage is supposed to be a glass cannon but is trading out damage for survivability that other classes already have!? It's like the mage and elemental shaman are slowly becoming the same class.
