That's the very best reaction to this video, I think! You have exactly the same thoughts and feelings when you look and hear as I do. It is truly a masterpiece to change this classic song by Metallica without damaging its substance and dynamics. What's more, it's more dramatic and dynamic than the original. Especially if they end up playing the original riff and have thus achieved the highest possible increase.

@@PowerfulReactions nah ... The Warning army just had a battle with two clowns who imo did the worst reaction video I have ever seen. They had no idea what was happening and what this was all about. I've listened to the other five versions on the Blacklist Album. I will say that those others were all stylistic variations on the original; this is the only one that really goes for an entirely different approach. It's already at the point that I think of this when I think of Enter Sandman, not the original. The original sounds to me like a fairly generic hard rock/metal song, while this is exciting, melodic, and fresh. This is both very creative (particularly under extremely tight time pressure) and superbly executed. This has already been used in a game trailer, and Fox Sports is using the closing riff this month. My understanding is that Fox Sports asked Metallica if they'd be willing to re-record it for them, and Metallica suggested that they use this version. This is the song that actually launched The Warning in 2014. They recorded it at home (they were 14, 12, and 9 at the time) so their relatives could see the girls' progress without having to visit Monterrey, but it somehow broke out and went viral without any intent on their part. That one was a straight cover. It sounds unremarkable in a sense, just a tight cover obviously with different voices, but realizing just how young they were, the very fact that it sounded tight but not out of place is remarkable in itself. There are even earlier recordings of them. One detail I've noticed (well, there are a lot of them, but as usual with The Warning it's necessary to listen multiple times to pick up on everything, as their songs are typically deeper and more complex than they sound on the surface) is that in the first verse, sung by Alessia Cara, the beat is more of a pop beat, while the second verse sung by Dany is a rock beat but all within the same rhythm. Not a particular surprise, but it speaks to their attention to detail -- again, under very tight time pressure; they had to complete it within a week of being invited in by Cara. Then they really hustled and did the video too.

I'm glad you said you got goosebumps . . I did too . . . it was so unexpected but at the same time not surprising that The Warning would come up with this masterpiece! Alessia Cara blended in so well - the vocal harmonies were insanely good! . . would love to see them collaborate again. How many bands consistently put in the passion and energy these young ladies do in every performance - what intensity . . they respect the music and respect their fans . . . they're the best!

You're right about how much it meant to them, Dany talked in a IG post that its a song that has been a part of her soul for years. They did a cover of it when they were children and I am sure it stuck with them through the years, I bet they had conversations over the years between themselves of how they may do things different if they ever played it again. I thought it was brilliant and Dany's passion shines like a beacon in this.. Great reaction and nice for pointing out the reason for Metallica's out of the box thinking in doing a album like this.
@dannys69763 жыл бұрын
👍…They ( The warning & Alessia) begin their version ( Take My Hand x2) where Metallica’s version ends. Then they end their version where Metallica’s really kicks in. So you basically have two different songs telling the same story ( Lullaby) in a never ending circle.

I absolutely love what they have done to the song. They essentially took it apart and remade it. Alessia's voice sounds hauntingly beautifull with a hint of sexy, perfect for this arrangement and the general mood they were going for. And the half timed chords in the chorus produce absolute epicness. Mark October 8th in your calender. That day The Warning's new EP will drop. And it will make quite an impact! 😊🤘

Alessia Cara is a Canadian Grammy winning POP singer/songwriter. 4 Grammy’s and many Hit Songs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations_received_by_Alessia_Cara The Warning collaborated for about 2 weeks with Alessia to come up with their own creative version, as Metallica asked them to do! Thus, the first hit off of the ‘Black Album’ to drop - ENTER SANDMAN! These songs on the Blacklist album are not intended to be "covers", but a re-imagining of the songs as a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Metallica approached Alessia. She has the same management agency as The Warning and they suggested a collab. Metallica asked them to not do a straight cover. They shot the video in an abandoned textile mill outside Monterrey, Mexico. An incredible reimagined classic!

I definitely like this rendition far more than the original. Darker…. creepier…. Far more surreal! They absolutely killed it! The more we hear from The Warning, the more I come to believe it is literally impossible for the sisters to put out anything subpar! And, this collaboration with Alissa Cara, who by the way is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star with millions of followers was a perfect melding of pop and rock. In my opinion, it was absolutely The Warning who brought the “hit factor” to the reimagining of this iconic song, what a bold statement. But, I honestly did not expect anything less! Again, they killed it! LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!

This is a fantastic remaking of the song! Doing a note for note cover is unimaginative and is something a band does when they're just starting out. You know, like The Warning did when they were 14, 12, and 9 years old, and which now has almost 23 million views. For a professional band to just cover it 1:1 shows a lack of imagination.

I am a hard TW fan and supporter, I appreciate their musical approaches very, very much. But also have to say that collaboration with Alessia is a great thing. Alessia's effort to this and her fantastic voice and personal sound were absolutely on point on this. I truly believe that this is at its best just like it's now done! Kudos to all equally: Alessia, TW and all involved in (incl. music and video production).

I guess they took Lars Ulrich quote literally? _“We figured, ‘Let’s throw this idea out there and see who’s interested,’ ” the drummer says. “We decided we’re not going to sit there and dictate, ‘You have to do this song, and you do that one.’ It would be weird to encourage peers or artists that you endlessly respect what to play. It was basically, ‘Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, if you want to make it unrecognizable, we respect and appreciate it.’ “_
