Dany still practices with her sax Ale gave it up. Rick Toone was a luthier that Dany got her guitars from for 3 years. She had to switch to PRS because of sponsorship deal. It's only now dawned on me that it was only four years between the Sandman cover to the release of their second (concept, no less) album. That's shocking growth. The girls that played that whole concept album live (at Lunario) on the album's release in 2018 are a full-blown professional band. One of the first videos I saw of the band was the show opener (Pau singing Dust To Dust) and I was blown away. Crazy that the song was built upon Ale's bass line, which she probably came up with at 12 yo.

I never thought about that short time period. Viral video to 2 full albums and an EP. That really is stunning the progression of their ability, songwriting, and showmanship. I've always just appreciated how well their songs were written and structured not even thinking about the short time. My wife hates me sometimes the way I talk about how well they structure their songs. A lot of bands I've listened to I think that one part of a song should be in a different place in the song. I've never found that in ANY of their songs. They're just astounding and mind blowing! Sorry for the rant but I just absolutely love everything about this band!

Yes, Dany plays the sax. Both Dany and Ale play the sax. I don't think many people outside of TWA know that, but obviously their musical abilities go well beyond just playing their rock band instruments. The fan fret guitars Dany played were Spearfish by Rick Toone. They have an aluminum neck, I believe. When they signed with Lava and began producing their first album under the contract Dany began playing a PRS and is a sponsored artist. But in the studio she was still using the Spearfish on at least some of the songs. Ale has been playing Spector basses for a while, now. I think she started around the time Queen of the Murder Scene was released in 2018. She has since become sponsored by Spector and was presented her own custome five-string just before they began production of their third album (the first for Lava Records).

I suggest "Mayday in the Making" (a six-parter of very short episodes) found on their channel ... or The Warning [TIDAL Rising Documentary] from the Tidal music service (it's very good). Those Rick Toone Guitars are all custom made for Dany. She also borrowed from Rick, for other shows. She has owned a few of them, and loved them. The Spearfish had the aluminum neck that was removable, and easy to transport on a plane. As much as she loved them (so did I), Eventually they was needing her sponsor to step up the game with her, and let it be known they was shopping for more. PRS made an offer they couldn't refuse, and Rick Toone couldn't compete with. Those Spearfish axes are not cheap either.

One is called Tidal Rising (20 minutes), and it is just the three of them talking about getting started, how they write songs and things like that. The other is called Mayday in the Making. It is mostly about recording the Error album with their new record company. Alot of footage of them in the studio hanging out and the camera person talks to the Producer and Sound Engineer, their parents and a couple of Lava Records people. It comes in 6 parts and is about 40 minutes total.

The Steinway was at the recital hall where they took piano lessons. The clip right before of Pau and Dany was at their home, and the piano(which is slightly out of tune)is where Pau starts most of the songs she writes for the band. They were a financially comfortable family, but by no means Steinway piano wealthy. The video at 2:08 was Ale. The parents don't play any instruments. Where Dany was doing her "Happy Feet" dance, it was during The Quarantine Concert they put on from their basement studio(The Cave) especially for the fans, because their first US tour had been cancelled because of Covid, and all of us were saddened, so they Live streamed the concert live on Facebook and Instagram. The TEDx Talk video was the first appearance in 2016. TEDx was so impressed, they asked them back a year later in 2017. Both are great and I have watched them many times. You can see how much they improved in just one year. Don't forget The Tidal Rising Documentary, and Mayday in the Making videos. there are multi-scale (fanned fret) basses, too... i'm not a musician but i believe one of the main things about fanned frets is they cover more range (scales) so you don't have to retune your instrument for different songs... i've recently thought about getting a 5-string bass... possibly a fanned fret one... but at 60+ i don't know how far that would go... i can't leave my computers alone long enough to find something to eat at times 😜😹 aside: the closest i came to "being a musician" was learning piano before picking up the bugle (scouts and Civil Air Patrol) and the trumpet... i did try sax and some other reed instruments but could not deal with the reed vibration on my lip... aside from that, i used to upset my sister by picking up her flute and playing stuff she was trying to learn when she was in school band... the only things i ever had actual lessons for was the piano and trumpet... that didn't last more than a year or two, each, before i moved on to other things... things like skipping school with others to go hang out at a friend's house all day (attempting) to play drums, bass, and guitar and pretend the 3, 4, and 5 of us could maybe be a band some day 😹😹😹

The last time I checked Dany still had a page on his website and Rick is still listed on The Warning’s website under equipment so I believe they still have a relationship together. Rick built and loaned Dany a couple additional custom guitars that were actually used in recording the Error album but he got those back after Dany switched to PRS. I know her black Manson was used for a fundraiser or kickstarter prize or something like that.

Exactly - if they had time to give interviews to everyone who wanted to, they probably would (it's not like they don't love talking to people)... but there really isn't enough time in the universe to do that by this point. They have to trust their "management" to pick and choose who to spend time with; time is the most precious commodity of all. *I put "management" in quotes, because theirs is family or very nearly family - not some faceless record company corporate team. Which definitely plays into the choices they make.
