Ale looks so much younger because she is. And yet, a consummate pro, even then. She grew to be the tallest and, despite being the youngest, she’s fiercely protective of her sisters. I love all 3 to bits but maybe Ale a smidge more… 😊

This performance is what drew a large number of us old rockers into The Warning. It was fresh rock mixed with other ages and genres that was new. And an energy that is hard to match. With quality technical skills. And an ability to be outstanding intelligent communicators between songs in a non-native tongue. They cast their spell on me for sure. That outro to Survive is one of the best grooves I have heard from a rock band. Period. i have played with bassists and drummers older than their parents who can't feel a beat like Pau & Ale show in that outro. That is what hooked me.

Not only were they great musicians at 16-14 and 12 years of age, but their communication abilities were amazing too. 16:42 Pau breaks a stick. 17:11 knocks the broken part away. Unmendable is my favorite song. The 2nd half is stuck in my head 24/7. Survive does start out as a show tune, but the ending is incredible and Pau always goes full tilt at the end with her helicoptering pony tail. In one of their Mexico shows she was standing up beating the crap out of the drums. kzbin.infopsKNa7h7knQ Their album Queen of the Murder Scene was almost a novel.. Pau mentioned she might have been an author if not for music, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her write a musical at some point in the future.

They did a personal reaction to this on Patreon and Pau couldn't understand why she was hitting so hard and raising her arms so high. She also kept saying how adorable Ale was and she wanted to hug her. That's what we all feel about sweet little Ale. This is 12 year old Ale talking without notes or a queue card or teleprompter, and speaking in her second language. Ale is 4 years behind musically to Dany and Pau but plays at their level. She started bass lessons at age 7 and a month later they were playing together, at that time Dany and Pau had been on their instruments 4 years or so. Pau could play in snow shoes , though she prefers playing barefooted, but in concert plays in socks. They had so much fun playing "Survive." The most touching version Dany plays of "When I'm Alone" is from the Monterrey concert where she plays it alone on an acoustic guitar. The best recording is posted by SLP.

You can see/hear right from the get-go that their harmonies are much better, and Dany's vocals are already stronger than the year before. Of course they've now got XXI Century Blood under their belts and several other live performances besides, so the confidence is there now. Pau's breathless addition to the comments always cracks me up!😄 She was and still is, so passionate about the music!😍👍👍 *EDIT:* You know, I would *LOVE* to see them go back and revisit this venue, just to show them how far they have come in a few short years! Matter of fact, it was this very performance that hooked me hard years ago. This is sacred ground to many of us. Watch it again, it gets better every time. Has for me, and I lost track of how many times I have seen this. I also make sure to record When I'm alone every time I see them and they play it. TEDx 2017 never gets old. Thanks for reacting! That version of Survive is still my favorite. They changed the live Teatro version of When I'm Alone to have a more acoustic intro - it's still an electric guitar, but with the clean setting. The Teatro version is much improved, IMO, with a really vulnerable and heartfelt vocal by Dany. Your comment was that Dany owned the song here, but she owned it even more in the later live show, and besides the musical changes, the lighting had a big impact on the song at Teatro. Highly recommended.

all three of these songs are off the 2017 album "XXI Century Blood", an album about how they see the world and things they want to change in it... i don't recall seeing anything from DPA/TW about what inspired *Unmendable* ... some of us think it had to do with their negotiations with numerous labels that they turned down... *When I'm Alone* is Dany's song written when they were at Berklee Music College in 2015... she wrote it while very homesick and needing a song to turn in for a class assignment... Pau and Ale joining with only their instruments is very fitting for the feelings the song is conveying... *Survive* is obviously about a relationship going/gone bad... some think of a boy/girl relationship but it could be about any relationship... especially a relationship where partyA is telling partyB that partyB won't make it without partyA in their lives... to me, this sounds very much like it was inspired from the failed negotiations with those labels "that wanted to change them for the wrong reasons"... i can see those label people trying to get them to sign by trying to scare them with words like that... These young ladies are incredibly talented. And you can really tell how each of them have "evolved", from Ale blossoming into the tallest of the three; Pau controlling her movements, while staying true to herself (singing while on a treadmill helps) and Dani just really harnessed those expressions and you can feel everything with her. As for the songs: when I first heard "Unamendable", I thought "Foo Fighters". "When I'm Alone" is a powerful song, and Dani has a beautiful solo in it. And as far as "Survive", it has one of my all time favorite endings, with them jamming out like that. Dani on the guitar, Ale keeping that bass line, and Pau on the drums... Jesus. *When I'm Alone* is epic here. The sound reminds me of mid-1960s British rock or L.A. Surfer grooves. Then *Survive* shows off Pau as a vocalist in full beast mode. She breaks a stick during it. Part of the stick lands on a cymbal. She grabs another stick off the floor and keeps going. Then she launches the broken stick across the stage when she hits that cymbal. Hilarious. And man, that outro is sublime! This is typical The Warning Veni Vidi Vici - Came, Saw, Conquered. Their VMA performances last Fall reminded me of this. I agreed with your ShipRocked comments. I wish The Warning had done their own thing. *Survive* or *Evolve* would have been perfect there. I really wonder what they thought of that whole trip…

Probably the best speaker too. -Dany was great back then, but her power, range and accuracy are leagues better now. -I miss Dany's old solos like this one, and the ones in Show me the light and XXi Blood. -I love Pau's pony tail slapping around and she wails those drums. -I've always noticed that the start of Survive has a strong show tunes vibe. I would love to see Pau rewrite QOTMS into a rock opera. She could do it! -Ale is flawless all through this performance. -When I'm Alone definitely has a different sound than most of their other songs, but it fits in nicely with their more current songs without standing out as being "different".
