I’m a Mexican and very proud that these young ladies are able to connect people around the world through music. It’s what they were made to do and we are the lucky ones.

Once again a super reaction! This is from the first LP, a great version of it at their 2017 TEDx performance - 3 songs and them speaking briefly about making the album in between, you see how intelligent, mature and hardworking they all are.

Written by Dany when TW attended Berklee College of Music Summer Program for Kids in 2015 in Boston. Dany was very homesick and had a homework assignment to write a song and then the class would analyze it. She had nothing until the night before it was due. The guitar is a Fender Acoustasonic that can be played acoustically or electrically. She got it during the pandemic. She now has two - one white and one black.

Dany holding an acoustic guitar in concert is the cue for me to be ready get into my feels, like seeing Pau behind a piano. You know they are about to pour their heart and soul onto the stage. Dany's glassy eyes get me every time with this one. Great reaction again boys!

The guitar she is using is a Fender Acoustisonic Stratocaster This song is from their first album, *XXI Century Blood*, released in 2017. Dany wrote it in 2015 when she was just 15 years old. It’s usually played with the full band, and there are several versions of them performing it live over the years. The most recent, besides this one, was at Teatro Metropolitan in 2022. Another great version is from their 2017 TEDx talk when they were 16, 14, and 12 years old. They also performed the song at a storytelling concert in 2018 at Agua Fría, San Pedro Garza García, Mexico, where Dany shared this about the song (translated from Spanish): "With your permission, I'm going to sit down to tell you a little more about this next song. Well, this next song is very, very, very special for me because, to be honest, I struggled a bit more when I first started as a composer. I remember being in Boston-we were studying at Berklee College of Music-and we had a composition class. It was a group class where each of us had to bring a composition. We would analyze it and see what could be improved. We had the task of writing a song. I remember that one day before class, I still had absolutely nothing. I was thinking, 'What am I going to do?' It wasn't because I was lazy or had forgotten the assignment-I just hadn't found inspiration for a song. In that moment of despair, I missed my home and my friends a lot because we had been away for a long time. I also felt like nobody understood that I didn't work the same way as others when it came to composing. That's when this song, *When I'm Alone*, was born."

When you think about it, Leo Fender (and Les Paul) created an electric guitars to make the instrument louder for stage performances as an acoustic guitar isn't all that loud and for a larger venue, it needs to be played in front of a microphone on a stand or alternately, have a pickup added to the guitar, which allows the artist a lot more freedom of movement while performing. Although the Acoustasonic doesn't give the full resonance of an acoustic guitar, it does have a unique sound that is easy to get used to. And it is much easier to use for a stage performance because it is much thinner and it is designed to be plugged in to an amp. I think that is why Dany loves using it.

Thanks for the quote. I've seen the translation of her comments in this video, in particular her reference to a desperate moment, and I've seen others repeat the story, but nothing first hand. I've also watched the Video Diary (Berklee), where we see something of that desperate moment. I'm not a Spanish speaker, but I do know this much: ¡Gracias!

Great reaction guys. One reactor suggested that at the end, when the crowd sings back to her "When I'm alone!", the crowd from now on should sing "You're not alone!" instead. I think that would be great to see TWA start doing that when she sings this song. It fits perfectly with what she was just saying. ⚡🤘

This is an unforgettable performance, just as the whole band doing it was in 2017 at the TEDx show. A very homesick Dany wrote this song at Berklee College of music when the kids were there in 2015 for the youth summer session. When she plays this on the acoustic electric, and performs solo, it hits so much harder! Sometimes less is a LOT more. Dany does folk music just as easily as she does rock. This is slightly reminiscent of *Crimson Queen* from the Lunario 2018 concert. Pau and Ale eventually join her on that one, after she starts it, but the tenderness and emotion are there, as they are here. Every time I watch this, I wish I'd been there.

During the pandemic Dany did midnight shows, a couple of songs each, just Dany, an acoustic guitar, and her phone. They're really special and most are available on "The Warning Army" channel. Worth a look, even if you don't react.

Dany isn't the inspiration for songs. That's Pau. Dany takes an idea and throws chaos at it with almost indecipherable output at times, but it builds something beautiful from the base. Then it gets handed to Ale to make the hard decisions. She's the "this sucks, but this doesn't suck" person. They have their parts that make TW amazing, but all three can write amazing music at the end of the day. This song exemplifies that in a beautiful, and heart wrenching way. ❤️⚡🤘 I wish I saw this on a Friday so I could yell Happy Dany Day! Great reaction!

You mentioned sometimes having to go through the rough spots first before things can get better. I heard Pau in an interview that "Choke" is about moments like that. I'll see if I can locate that interview and post it if I do. Maybe someone else in TWA knows where it is. Dany mentioned a desperate moment in this video, see @thontor's translated quote below from another performance for details. You'll see something of that desperate moment in the "Video Diary (Berklee)". kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZa5Yol9mtFnoqc
