Yeah. Sadly, Moody may be on the way out. Podz is the priority. It has a lot to do with his contract. Podz is locked up. 3 more years at $13million, total. Kuminga wants $40million per. Not sure what Moody is looking for. But he and Kuminga would be free agents at the end of the year. Kuminga has to play out of his mind to get that deal. May lose them both. Still a real possibility one or both is traded, for that reason.

I don’t know what exactly is super efficient about Moody’s numbers or percentages. 36% from 3 is slightly above average not super efficient. Moody isn’t a great 3 point shooter and he isn’t exactly Uber athletic like most young guards. If he shot 38% from there like Podz he might get the start. Moody needs a trade.

I think Podz should be replacing CP3 position as PG. In his peak CP3 was a scoring PG. That's the best trajectory for Podz. I think that Moody's main goal should be as a starter. The starting line-up could be - TJD,Dray,JK/AW,MM and Steph. In the 2nd unit would be Kyle A, AW/JK, Hield, Melton, Podz with GP2 and Loon as special backups.

Not disagreeing with your overall point, but do have a suggestion: When you show Podz’ ranking in counting stats, it would be more. meaningful if you did it on a per-36 minutes basis to even out the obvious effect of playing time. You might also want to set a minimum minutes to weed out flukey stats from meaningless to the discussion guys like Spencer. Finally, saying Podz was 1/10 better than Moody was incorrect; Defensive Rating is a stat where the lower the number, the better.

Getting rid of most of those bad running hook shots and replacing them with easier 3s and mid range jumpers should improve Pods offensive impact and that of the team. But if they give Podz so much emphasis in the offense at the expense of JK I think that will be a huge mistake. Yes Klay's shooting needs to be made up for to some degree even if he was horrible last season. Spacing is of course a thing. But the one thing that has characterised the GSW offense the last few seasons has been a complete inability of anyone not named Steph to consistently apply pressure at the rim. JK obviously has in spurts but that needs to be further developed as well as doing more to get TJD involved in the offense too. simply bombing away from 3 as a team because you have few opportunities to try and get to the rim or even try and collapse the defence is just going to be a recipe for another mediocre season. Podz should absolutely be shooting more than he did last season but if he's regularly taking more shots than JK I have little faith that will equal a better offense.

Moody is so much better than podz its not even funny, kerr just can't seem to allow him to play. He's a much better on ball defender, runs faster and overall shoots better (has been consistently above 57% TS). As currently constructed, the most logical line-ups for GS should be...: Starting Unit Steph, Hield, Wiggins, Kuminga, and Draymond Second Unit Melton, Podz, Moody, Anderson, and TJD Reserve Unit GPII, Waters III, Hinson (over Santos), and Loon being the plug-n-play roll players and situational needs from game-to-game. At some point, replace Santos with Blake Hinson, and consider trading Wiggins, Loon, and Moody for a legit rebounding and shot blocking BIG such Clint Capela or another proven 3&D Wing such as Cam Johnson, making room for Quinton Post, who'll more than likely be on a 2way along with Plowden, Beekman and/or Spencer at the start of the season. These types of sublte adjustments and moves would balance the roster out and truly return the GSW to Stength in Numbers.

Podz will not be a full replacement for Klay, at least in his current state, no shot. He plays with too much energy where his fitness isn't there towards end of games. You can see it when he logs heavy minutes, his legs aren't there on shots. There's no way he can maintain his pace of play plus attempt 10 3pointers a game at some respectable efficiency.

Moody has been increasingly reliable and improved his productivity season on season. The lack of consistent playing time and defined role could have and adverse effect on his confidence and mindset. Podz & MM both have a ton of talent. Currently Podz brings more to the team & the players around him. That doesn’t mean MM can’t surpass Podz or any other player in time. However, currently Podz is the better starter & Moody should get more minutes - both can be true & are not mutually exclusive. As the season evolves this could flip. Hard to predict what will happen. Certainly, at the beginning of last season few to no one predicted Podz working his way into 26 mins per game or TJD dunking on Wemby. Podz is a terrible choice for the starting five. He is a defensive liability. The guard on the floor with Steph has to be able to guard the other team’s best offensive weapon in the backcourt. The best options are most likely, Melton and Moody. This crazy Podz “Hype” is gonna cause them miss any opportunity to maximize Steph’s final years. Let Podz develop his game on the second unit. My vote is for Moody to start, along with Steph, Dray, Wiggs or JK and TJD. We like Buddy Hield, Podz or GP2 at guard, with Slo-Mo, Looney and Wiggs or JK. In college Podz shot 44% from three on 6 attempts. In college Moody shot 36% from three on 5 attempts. Podz made all rookie 1st team and shot 38.5% on as the 5th scoring option for the warriors last season. While leading the team in total rebounds and leading the league in charges drawn. Podz is a much better team defender than Moody. The issue with Moody is despite playing more minutes last season and attempting more shots his percentages did not improve. Makes little to no sense to start him over a 1st team all rookie.

Horrible video and comparison. Podz is a combo guard that connects players and somehow out rebounds most the team among other things like leading in taking charges. He’s more complimentary to off ball Steph. Moody is someone who will need to be a very efficient scorer at best and we are just hoping for other skillsets and abilities we HAVENT SEEN yet…
