The Watch I Want To Love... But Can't (Zelos Horizons V2 GMT Blue Meteorite 2020)

So this was my most wanted watch of 2020 the Zelo Horizons V2 GMT in Meteorite Blue. After a long wait it finally landed at my door. Opened the package to see the watch and..... yeah dissapointment. However this was due the dial, the rest of the watch is amazing as always but feel a bit down paying more for a dial is a disappointment to me.
In most lights the dial just looks gloss black and you can't see the meteorite pattern at all. You have to get it into some type of direct light to show the pattern. However even then the pattern looks subdued compared to other meteorite dialed watches i hae such as the Zelos Swordfish i have. There are a few other things which i'm not 100% with like the crystal stopping you from seeing the chapter ring unless angled. These are only small niggles however. Sit down and have a watch, see what you think :)

I disagree, the blue meteorite dial of this watch is stunning in person. Gorgeous piece and worth every penny.

I have to say I love the dial on the Horizons 2 blue meteorite - it's a lot more subtle than the other blue meteo dials, which fits very well with the Horizons design IMO.

A lot of people like it for that fact i think. Like i say i like something a bit more stand out. However it has been sold and the buyer is over the moon with it :)

I understand your grips about the watch, and I can see its no nitpicking here.....this is a big deal. Still, I have no doubt you'll be able to shift this along if that's what you decide to do. If not for the upcoming Timascus Swordfish, I'd jump on it myself. But I have to focus on not missing yet another Timascus watch......not going to let that happen. As always, a great, thorough video. Well will be waiting for the titanium swordfish meteorite. Need to flip this one first though so will see if i get any interest and see what happens. Just hope the blue meteorite in them is a bit more noticeable :)

Meteorite has to go through an acid path to get its distinctive pattern. Maybe this one got out of the path quickly, so the erosion "patination" is not as deep.

Man, I coveted the blue meteorite dial in my bronze Swordfish! Waited too long and had to settle for the standard blue butt I still love it. I had a slightly misaligned bezel and Elshan stepped up with a return label. He is a good guy!

Elshan is the best, had an issue with my Mako V3 and straight away got it sorted. Have to say might be one of if not the best customer services around. Am going to do a video going over Zelos and how good they are as a brand.

Same issue with Phoibos Proteus gray meteorite dial-its almost black,like wet concrete colour.

Great review Kyle! I'm glad I went with the Frost version that I reviewed on my channel. I think the blue meteorite is still a nice looking watch, but I can understand your disappointment. With the overall colorway similarities, I do think the Aventurine V1 handily wins over the meteorite. This was the thing that kept me from getting this colorway too.

Don't flip it Kyle I'm sure you'll grow to love it mate. I understand your disappointment but you've got one of fifty much sought after watches the world over. If in six months you feel the same I'm sure you'll still be able to flip it for even more. Every day there are more and more Zelosphiles. These reviews are becoming more and more polished pal, excellent stuff mate. I think it's a beautiful thing to look at. What's it like in natural day light?

I don;t want to be it is a lot of money to hold up in a watch i'm now woowed by. In daylight it does look better if you look closely but anyone giving a passing look will just see a plain dial. Personally Zelos needs to go back to the blue meteorite that they used in the swordfish :)

I have the midnight and it's a great dial on this watch, the meteorite looks like a bit of gimmick on most of the watches, only a few pull it off nicely.

Yeah i think the teal would a better pick personally. Meteorite is going crazy but you look a the swordfish and that is a great meteorite dial.

Real shame about that. The dial is nice, but it looks black most of the time and a black dial doesn't go with the blue and white bezel. If you do decide to sell it on you're guaranteed a high level of interest, which is a good thing.

Thanks, i think a lot of reviews have picked up on a lot of the bad points but still said, woow an amazing watch which it is. But not as good as the original in my mind, a few of the versions you can't even see the bezel numbers which is just a loss on me.
