Hear me out: misha IS the watchmakers legacy, he physically can’t leave penacony, perhaps because he’s either the stellaron itself or a concept or thing that was created from the dreamscape. It would kinda help explain why we, the trailblazer, can only see misha
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 6 ай бұрын
Yep, that makes sense. I didn't know the trailblazer couldn't see Misha cause I chose a different dialogue choice that didn't pay attention to the Trailblazer seeing TWO people in trouble there (Firefly could only see Acheron, but didn't know her name, so thought we were referring to her as "Misha"). But yea, I'm calling Misha a "Memoform" after learning this. Not actually a robot.

@@iamemamae Well its possible that the stelleron was put in to give Misha life in the first place much like how it seemed we need the stelleron to exist. If the stelleron was taken its possible that Misha will die (Tingyun is a playable character still despite being 'killed' so its possible he will die) and we might have to make that choice, as its hinted at that our choices will have consequences going forward as we've seen from the different ways acheron responds to us depending on how we respond to her (red text). It was conditioning/making us aware of it and we will probably see the consequences of our actions having more of an impact moving forward. We either open pandoras box to take the stelleron or risk it all to let Misha keep the stelleron and live. It will be even harder for our character as we are technically in the same situation as Misha so what right do we have to take it away. I wonder if the families influence is what is causing the unstableness of the dreamscape because we can see that Misha influences the dreamscape mostly but we also can see that there are many upset souls who come to Penacony to hit it big but may miss out or to escape their past. Its possible the Family's meddling and memory/dream manipulation, plus their casino like stuff and over exaggeration on the 'dreams come true' which leads to disappointment to dreamers has caused an influx of negativity that is destabilizing it. I think that our MC will need to fix the emotions of the dreamscape because a lot of side quests have to do with fixing peoples emotions and memories. Its possible we will inherit part of the job as Misha might be unable to handle fixing the dreamscape himself or is trying to hide from the family (that may know or suspect Misha has the power of a Stelleron) so can't be as 'active' in fixing things as our MC who has drawn attention of others and is known for helping people. Maybe we have to 'fix' Misha's suppressed emotions, like patching/fixing a leaking boat, so it doesn't sink into the Memoria further. Expect we have to prove ourself further to get to that point where Misha and Clockie accept us so they grant us more power over the dreamscape to fix it as its a powerful thing and he has to trust us fully. Also funfact: Misha's clockie and friends creations are based off of the past Astral express crew who stayed. The squirrel or whatever is the one girl, I think the surveyor and the wolf detective is the blood hounds/security officer from the express, and then Clockie represents the clockmaker/grandpa. The crocodile could represent the families trying to take over or be symbolic of someone else we have yet to meet. Also another random thing but since the nameless try to fix/free stellerons its possible Misha feels he is part of the nameless legacy because he is keeping the stelleron safe and that is also why his grandpa left him part of his ticket.

19:27 I actually theorized about this a few days ago. I had the thought that the Trailblazer is only following the path if the Trailblaze, but because of the stellaron and the Belobog lance, we are able to draw power from the corresponding paths despite not following them. Destruction - we utilize the stellaron to draw power from the path if destruction. Preservation - we use the lance gifted to us by Qlipoth and the memories of the previous supreme guardians to draw power from the preservation. We are not following these paths, but we weild items that are directly connected to thise paths, allowing us to utilize their unique powers despite that.

@@iamemamae I could be misremembering, but I think it was said somewhere that Akivili introduced space travel to many worlds and that the tracks if the express are sort of the connector to most of the worlds in the universe. Like, the Earth of Honkai impact has seemingly never made contact with other worlds and it just so happens to be a world that Akivili never visited, thus not being connected by the Star Rail which would most likely mean most of the worlds known about by the wider Universe is because they are connected through way of the Star Rail.

@@pokemonmaster1505 This is interesting for the wrong reasons. There are 2 calendars in HSR. The calendar of the IPC measuring Amber Eras and the calendar of Trailblaze being a 1 to 1 earth calendar. So the calendar of trailblaze's existence means that Akivily not only visited Earth at some point but that Earth holds enough importance to them to make its calendar theirs. Which leads me to theorize that the trailblaze HAS TO BE related to Project Arc in Hi3 lore. Which in a complete 180 means that The Trailblaze is Griseo or someone who was also part of that Project (Current standing theory). It also means that Earth is at the end of the Star Rail. Fun fact we are actually shown a sketch of the Divine Key used for Project Arc which looks way too much like the Star Rail.

My theory about the timeline is that the Misha we meet is just a memory of the Misha that once existed. See how he is a lot like Clockie, in the sense that only we can see him. A manifestation from the dream. It also explains why his voicelines aren't consistent. We are listening to memories from different points in time. Also, his technique is LITERALLY TO FREEZE TIME. Every time we meet him we are meeting different snapshots in time of him. YEAH! Also that either means he's been dead for 500 years, or there's a "real him" locked up somewhere, frozen in time so he doesn’t age, and we'll free him

This is a very well done theory! I still remember back in the early days of Genshin, people theorized that Katherine is a puppet because she'll often say 'error' and because she has a keyhole design behind her neck, in the end it turned out that this theory was right. So I can imagine that Hoyo would use the same logic in HSR, a character with a keyhole in their design is likely a puppet, it certainly wouldn't be the first time Hoyo has taken ideas from one game and put it into other games. Anyway I wonder if at some point we'll use the Clockwork that Clockie gave us and fix an emotion inside of Misha, maybe to make him sad so he can properly grieve?
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 6 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, Hoyo definitely has a habit of recycling concepts and even characters to different games (I feel like Misha is sort of a Scaramouche variant). This also isn't the first time we've seen a keyhole design on a puppet (think of Herta). That would be amazing to use the clockwork on Misha. YES I BELIEVE THAT TOO! He is the Legacy of Penacony, both literally and figuratively - he embodies wonder and magic and hope. He's too amazing :) I'm 90% sure the Bloodhounds are referring to Misha too, and Clockie also says that "Misha's" in trouble, not miss acheron. Could be true, there is a dearth of people talking directly to him outside the trailblazer, but I don't think that necessarily constitutes him being invisible. I think it has more to do with the fact that he's just a bellboy. It's easy to overlook service workers, especially for the kind of people who visit Penacony - after fulfilling their own needs and dreams, not necessarily looking out for those around them.

Wonderful theories! I would like to add it feels more like Mikhail/Watchmaker didn't 'leave" but died/sacrificed themself. Passing of a legacy in many cases comes just before death. If Misha was made of the past image of the Watchmaker's grandchild, Misha would not fully understand 'death' as they are not human or has been around death as they where made in this world. Plus, if this world is part of a child's dream/nightmare and they have made other characters --why not use their imagination to add their grandfather back? This could be relatied if The Watchmaker became the one who "contained its energy" and they are one in the same now. Misha is now the guard of the "legacy" that The Watchmaker was doing until their end, and Misha was made to be the box to hold the legacy from the start. I do not even think anyone but the TB can see Misha.

Mhm mhm the more I think about it, the more I'm pretty sure something happened to Mikhail - and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the family's influence on Penacony. They seem...a little too sinister. Or some of them do anyway. Some of them seem fine, but Sunday... That is a very good point about Misha not understanding death tho. There is the possibility that the watchmaker didn't leave or sacrifice himself, but was instead "Discarded" by the family (as the clock in the nursery suggests, maybe it's not talking about misha?). This could explain a bit further about why the watchmaker left it to a literal child - it's cause he had no choice.

@@iamemamae It is funny you pull Sunday into this. I have my ideas on Sunday and Robin. After doing the Lesly Dean story, I think it really adds to the idea that someone in the story is already died and has no idea they are and "someone" does not want to left them go. I feel that fits, Sunday and Robin. A brother who lost his little sister a long time ago now uses the deamworld to let her have their dream live on and hear her sweet songs. Sunday will stop at nothing to protect the dreamworld to not to lose his sister, again. Even if this dream is harmful and traps others in it. That also lines up really well with my *actual* favorite theory for the identity of the meme. I love the idea of it being an expression of Misha's subconscious grief, but the other one is that the Meme is an expression of the Family's influence on Penacony - namely that the meme is actually Sunday himself. I might make a short about this, but he has these eye-like designs all over his clothing, he wears spikes on his wings (and one of the meme's lesser attacks involves it shooting spikes off its wings), and ALSO, the charge-up of the Meme's main attack, where it imprisons characters, involves the word "Sunset". "SUNset. "SUNday." Add that to Sunday appearing to go a bit unhinged there at the end, and it's pretty clear there's some sort of connection there.

I dreamed I'd never leave, but once I woke up, it would be all gone." He then says: "But I can't believe I finally got to come aboard the Astral Express. It almost feels like home!" Certainly seems to indicate he's at least in some way linked to the Nameless. I wonder why he could be having these dreams? If we go with the theory that he actually IS Mikhail, I suppose this would make sense. Not sure how else he would know of it, maybe his grandfather either told him about it, or possibly transferred some memories to him? Maybe a bit of a stretch, but I suppose if Misha was created from Mikhail's memories of his real grandson, could he have some of Mikhail's memories ingrained in him? Edit after reading another comment: so if Misha was made from Memoria, is that how he has memories of the express? Anyway great theory, amazing work!

We know making a Misha style puppet in Penacony is possible, because we have 2 examples in the world quests. One was of a dead celebrity that is alive in Dream Penacony thanks to memories fed into the systen by his fans. The other is a scientist whose specific memoria has been captured by the IPC and stored in Dream Penacony to try and unlock plans for an annihilation weapon. He refused to give it up, until we rescue his memoria spirit and bring him to Herta and the other Genius Society member whose name escapes me right now. The scientist touches minds with Herta and downloaded all his research to her. Dream Penacony Misha could be either option: powered by the memories of his grandfather, or his actual soul in memoria form installed into the Dream.

From the moment I saw Misha, I’ve been getting this inexplainable robot vibes from him. From his unique eyes to him being a bell boy with all sorts of duties in his young age in a massive hotel. Including he being friends with Clockie and Clockie’s affection and protectiveness over him. My first thought was that he was left by the watchmaker or he was even the matchmaker himself disguising under an innocent face to make sure Penacony didn’t explode. I was using explode in a “making sure things didn’t get chaotic in Penacony on his leave” meaning but now well…Stellarons haha. Rather than thinking he was just a reconstructed family member I always thought he was a placeholder for the watchmaker. This made more sense the moment I understood the name trick. I was like “why is he searching himself” and how weird that they used diminutive form of the Russian name Mikhail. Then it kinda clicked when our Russian teacher said “We use the diminutive form to address someone with affection. Like kids or husband/wife or friends.” Misha is like the lil version of the watchmaker. I wonder if this whole story is about him being forced out from his delusions to grow up and he starts being visible to ppl. Being Mikhail for real and faces his depression rather than hiding from ppl in a dream. Of course it’s a lot of speculation in my end lol. I am overjoyed to see a theory about him! He is my main and I love his vagueness and mysterious air to bits. This felt like a treat to watch. Thank you!

Fun fact: I was told by another commenter that in some of the other languages the game is in, Misha addresses Mikhail as "grandfather" and uses pronouns that youngsters use to refer to their elders (including grandparents). I don't think the story is much about Misha "growing up" as wanting to grow up is already a huge part of his character? Im not sure though. There's so much here. So happy to meet a Misha main! (I'm working on leveling up my Misha so I can properly use him).

@@iamemamae Ooo, that’s very interesting. Thank you for sharing it. “Grow up” thing is not him maturing ( I think he is very mature already for a teenager/kid) but finally finding out the truth himself. At least that’s how I meant lol. I've already seen your video some time ago, and really enjoyed your theory. When I saw it for the first time, I thought I didn't have any interesting enough ideas to share, and also didn't want to post a certain detail I noticed everywhere (I deemed it irrelevant), so I kept it to myself and didn't wrote a comment. But after watching and re-watching other lore videos, I came up with an interesting theory on my own, which might explain the story about the Watchmaker. It's a bit late (10 days till 2.2), but I would still like to share it, and hope everyone, who is taking their time to read it, will also enjoy it. ^^ The detail I kept to myself, which my whole theory will be based on, is that the name of Mishas Technique "Wait, you are so beautiful!" is a quote from the German tragic play "Faust", written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe ("verweile doch, du bist so schön!" is the line from the original). This tragic play is named after its protagonist, Faust, who is a scholar with an unending thirst for knowledge. He wants to know the inner workings of the world, but gets dissatisfied with life and frustrated in his later years, as he realizes that he, and humans in general, are limited in the things they can possibly know or comprehend. So he tried different things, even taking his own life, in an attempt to overcome these limitations and finally gain a whole understanding of the world and its workings. Later, he made a bet with the devil Mephistopheles who offered his help. Mephisto promised he would show him more about the world and it's workings and grant him endless time, but if Faust would ever get satisfied and stop striving for his wish of understanding the world, Mephisto gets his soul. So Faust proposed: "if I say to the moment: 'wait, you are so beautiful' you may shackle me and I would gladly perish" (rough translation from me). Sounds somewhat familiar? Here is my theory: I think the story about the Watchmaker (Misha) is going to mirror the story of Faust, with Misha in the role of Faust. And I think the Stellaron/Gallagher (yes, I think Gallagher is a creation of the Stellaron, if not even the Stellaron itself) takes the role of Mephisto. We know from Mishas character story (part 4), that he became deeply dissatisfied with his life, and basically imagined his past adventures, he dreamed of, into existence. And I think we all agree that he managed to do it with the help of the Stellaron (the same way the Stellaron was able to create a snowstorm on Belobog, or even made the ambrosial arbor grow [the Stellaron can create things]). But I would go even further and claim, that the Stellaron made contact with him, the same way it was able to speak to Cocolia, and promised it could make his dream of trailblazing come true, at a certain price (the same way Mephisto lured Faust into the bet). So Misha made a bet with the Stellaron, that he would never give up on his dream, but if he ever were, then the Stellaron would get what it wants. So I think the "wait, you're so beautiful" refers to his dream of trailblazing he would never abandon, like Faust would never stop in trying to gain an understanding of the world (hence, "golden hour" as a symbol for never letting go of his dream). I could also imagine, that the Stellaron is trying to sabotage Misha into letting go of his dream, in an effort to win their bet, the same way Mephisto tried to sabotage Faust into losing their bet (so I could imagine that "something unto death" could possibly be a creation of the Stellaron as well. I mean, the conditions of this bet set Faust basically up for failure from the start, so I think the same applies to the Watchmaker and the dreamscape). Now to 2.1 and how it connects to the aforementioned points I made. Sadly, there weren't any new Faust references, but the symbolism persisted and even deepend. The title of 2.1's trailblaze mission "The Devil in Velvet" actually carries a double meaning. First, it's a reference to the same named novel written by John Dickson Carr. And guess what the story of this novel happens to be about.. Right! It's about a professor making a bargain with the devil! 👀 (seriously, I thought I'm going insane after noticing it some days ago [thanks to the wiki]). And the second meaning of the title refers to Gallagher, with him being "the devil", and "velvet" apparently being the color of his trousers (that the title refers to Gallagher is an information I got from a video uploaded by "CatWithBlueHat" about the story of 2.1. Because english isn't my native language, I'm not really familiar with the word "velvet", and Google translate wasn't of any help either. So I just assume from the context of his video, that velvet refers to the color of Gallaghers trousers. I would really appreciate it, if someone could enlighten me 😅). In other words: Gallagher is referred to as a devil. And if we go by the storys framework of Faust, it would put Gallagher in the role of Mephisto, as Mephisto is a devil. So it would explain in which way the Watchmaker and Gallagher are connected, and why he is the only one having a voiceline about Misha. Interestingly enough, it can even explain why Gallagher refers to himself as a dog multiple times (not just as a title, in the sense of "part of the bloodhound family", but as he himself being a dog), because Mephisto took the form of a black poodle, when he appeared to Faust for the first time. Only after Faust took the poodle with him, Mephisto revealed his true self to him, and Faust said: "das also war des Pudels Kern!" ("so this, then, was the kernel of the brute!"). This line is so famous, it even became a saying in German. It's usually used, when you get to the crux of a matter, and figure it out. To summerize my little theory: The Watchmakers story mirrors the story of Faust, with Misha/the Watchmaker taking the role of Faust and Gallagher/the Stellaron taking the role of Mephistopheles, a devil. A dissatisfied Misha made a bet with the Stellaron/Gallagher, that he would never give up on his dream of trailblazing, and if he ever were, then the Stellaron would get what it wants. That's how Misha became the Watchmaker, created the dreamscape, and came to work together with Gallagher, and why Gallagher is the Stellaron and refers to himself as a dog ("the kernel of the brute"). And "death" is a manifestation of the Stellaron (I mean, this one is pretty much confirmed, if we go with the narrative of Stellaron=Gallagher [RIP Sunday]). So, that's my theory. What are your thoughts on it? I appreciate your theories and opinion, so would really like to know. ^^

I WILL SAY that the devil in velvet has been confirmed by the devs to be Aventurine, not Gallagher. I'm not sure why they call him that, but I mean...I guess we'll see? Maybe I misunderstood? @@iamemamae I'm glad you like it and that you even took the time to read it. ^^ I also thought that the title referred to Aventurine at first, and, well, I wouldn't say it's wrong per se. It's just curious that there is another way to interpret it, and it just so happens to perfectly fall in line with everything else I've theorized about. I've also looked it up again, and yes, I can now say for sure that "Velvet" is indeed the name of a color, and it's the same shade as Gallaghers trousers. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it on purpose, and both interpretations end up being right, but tied it to Aventurine to distract from it's other meaning. I mean, Hoyoverse sure loves to play with different perspectives and how they can change the meaning of things. :D But anyway, I guess we will see what's the case when 2.2 is finally released. Great video!!! Your interpretation of the different stelleron crises was super interesting and something I'd never thought of before. The Penacony storyline has so many layers and moving parts that Misha was able to slip under the radar despite obviously being central to the whole thing. It really makes you wonder who could have sent those invitations and why they would want the Watchmaker's Legacy to be found. If not Misha, then someone who thinks the dreamscape needs to be put under new management to fix it? Or destroy it? And when does Xipe and the Family come into the picture? Questions, questions, and more questions.

Okay this is great work, though I do have a few details for you to consider: 1. The 4 side quests all feature the TB going deeper into another character's dream for XYZ reasons, in all of these we see white text that shows the thoughts of the dream owner. This, to me, suggests that the white text during the main quest was the thoughts of the main dreamer = Misha. Thus, Misha could be considered the host of Penacony? 2. SU Swarm Disaster Abundance II has the story of a Trailblazer who, after the Swarm Disaster and the disappearance of Ena, awakens inside a fortress among believers who have lost their God. This is after the events of Beyond the Sky Choir, which suggests Ena's choir was imprisoned well before Swarm Disaster began. I'll be discussing this more in my own videos about SU lore, but I think this is describing the true history of Penacony. 3. Beyond the Sky Choir also has the pair of twins, one who dies by throwing themselves into the sea to stop a dispute between the Choir and the Architects. When the Oroboros attacks, the choir is submerged and silenced and the two brothers embrace. This is speculative, but I think there's a good chance that these twin brothers might actually be Mikhail and Misha, and they're not actual biological Grandpa and Grandson. Michael is obviously the name of the angel usually considered closest to God (Ena), and the twin brother that died first was said to have been the most holy of voices that ever harmonized with the Gods.

I'm not vibing with the theory of the Stelleron being a current battery for the dream. Now, as a Dungeon Master and story teller I am the first one to tell people not to accept everything the characters give you as fact, but I don't think untrustworthy is inherently deceptive. I agree with the other stuff you said about the stellleron's effect on the past, but I'm not convinced the rest the game has told us about the methods of Harmony shaping the dream is a lie. But Misha and the Trailblazer being Stelleron lockboxes, linking them both more deeply to the rising nightmare of Penacony and the entities therein? Im absolutely here for it. Also with that being said, EVERYTHING you said fits...like, really fits. So I am totally prepared to be wrong and fully spoiled by that element.
@austinmartin612
@austinmartin612 6 ай бұрын
So hey, me again. A few points. When I was replaying through Penacony on my Alt account... I paid really close attention and nobody actually acknowledges Misha's existence. The bit where Clockie gets you to "help Misha" the "thugs" are actually angry with Acheron, not Misha. Acheron says she thinks she can sense something next to her(Clockie is nowhere near her at the time, but MISHA is). When we meet Misha first time in the dreamscape he's surprised we can see him/perceive him. Every time Misha is in a scene you can view that scene as nobody but the trailblazer and the dreamscape team(Clockie, etc) can see Misha. They make it SEEM like Misha is being talked about... but if you re-read the scenes, it could very well be viewed without Misha being in it at all. I don't think Misha is a puppet, I think Misha is a Memetic Entity on a different wavelength than most people can perceive. That being said.... I do think there's a slight Pinocchio thing going on, Mikhail being the Geppetto of this story. Also Firefly says she thinks the Watchmaker was probably a Nameless so that part of the theory tracks there as well. I also don't think the stellaron is sealed inside Misha, I think the "box" is the thing that stellarons are sealed inside by the astral express crew. I think "don't open the box" is "don't let the stellaron free." I do think Misha is the key that keeps it locked. But at the same time I feel like Miikhail might've somehow sacrificed himself to seal the stellaron, perhaps he became the box himself, and because of his interaction with the stellaron, Misha is his "dream of the fayth."(FFX reference, I hope you get it, if not.... eh). It's said the Watchmaker's Legacy can make dreams into reality, which gives us a few options for things. For instance, for Firefly it would mean being able to have a body that is her own and works without having the Entropy Loss Syndrome. For Sparkle.... on second thought that's too complicated, lets not go there. For Misha, it's the ability to leave Penacony and go on an adventure like his grandfather or to follow in his footsteps if you will.
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 6 ай бұрын
Ok, so the reason I think the bloodhounds were angry with him, not Acheron, is because they mention a grey-haired boy being a stowaway earlier, and getting confused for Firefly, another stowaway. It could be intentional misdirection, or just a continuation of the same scene. Quick correction though - whenever Misha expresses surprise that we know him, it's that we *remember* him, not that we can see him that astonishes him. But your right, whether he's a memo-form (idk that's what I'm gonna call memoria-constructed projections I think) or a mechanical being, this is a Pinocchio/Geppetto situation. That brings into play something else though - when Clockie came to get help from us, he said "someone is dying" and he was referring to Misha. However, if Acheron was the one actually in trouble there, that would mean Misha has some connection to Acheron? Further evidence for a Raiden Shogun/Scaramouche-esque relationship between the two? Or possibly Misha just being extremely sensitive to the emotions of the people around him. As for Misha being the "key" I still stand by that part of the theory - the imagery we're given of him places him not as the key, but rather the lock. There are a lot of possibilities just in that statement though. A lock can also be a "seal" the thing that holds everything together, so either way, this hinges on him. My theory with Mikhail (which I didn't have time for in this video), is pretty much the same - that something happened to him. However, I think it was less him sacrificing himself and more him...possibly being sacrificed. I don't think Xipe's influence on Penacony is altogether wholesome, and while some of the Family aren't a problem (for example Gallagher seems to be a decent guy who's just doing his job), I think the Family as a whole is a problem, and might actually have something to do with the Meme. There is something interesting about wishes that you say here, that I'm noticing more and more even since uploading this - Stellarons, on top of what I said in the video, seem to feed off of wishes. On belobog, Cocolia talks extensively about her wish. The heckin Sanctus Medicus dudes had a wish to be fully immortal, and on penacony everyone has a wish... I don't have much else to say about that yet, but it's a trend I'm noticing.

This is quite a bit to chew on for now, and it gets even better thanks to 2.1, since we now know for certain that the Watchmaker and his Legacy are two different things. Not to mention, Misha's express badge is distinctly visually different from present-day express. On Misha's badge, the colored strip is towards the top and is a lavender color, as well has having a kind of three/four-pointed star design in the middle. Meanwhile the colored strip on the badges from our post-Akivili express is on the bottom of the badge and a bright red, and has some kind of more abstract art deco thing with mountain-like curves and a stripe/bar in the middle with a point at the top and one side going on. No idea what significance this difference has, only that it's there. And who's to say that Misha is based on Mikhail's grandson? Why not a younger version of the man himself? So far as I could dig, there really isn't any evidence showing the existence of a grandson before Misha. Heck, it can be argued that the Eidolon names vaguely allude to this as well. So either Misha could be an invention made purely from scratch, or based on Mikhail's younger self. I'm inclined to lean towards the latter, considering the two share a name (the regular version and its diminutive form).
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 6 ай бұрын
See I just interpreted the Nameless badge as "oh it's from 500 years ago so the design changed" but either way they're the only characters to wear something like that Period. Nothing else even comes close. And there's not really any reason that I said he's based off his grandson except that Misha calls him Mikhail "grandfather" and your thoughts definitely fit as well. There are a handful of peripheral things your thoughts also possibly explain (such as the child's dreamscape music being titled "Chaine Significant" which is a whole psychological concept and is really amazing (another short I will be making in the near future)

Now that you mention it, while the difference in badges does have me curious as to why the change, I do feel like that's a more overarching thing rather than something specific to Penacony's story. Either way, I look forward to seeing what you come up with from here on out!

I entirely agree, this is easily the most likely thing. I mean other than this theory, there are only 4 (really 3) possibilities. We (the trailblazer) are in someway Mikhail/the watchmaker, alternatively clockie (although the standin for the watchmaker) is also the watchmaker legacy, third, some other object that we havent seen is the watchmakers legacy, and lastly (the bad one) is that “something unto death” is the legacy in some shape or form.

So i propose the team of trailblazers then stayed in penacony cos the stellaron then was sealed but maybe unstable? 🤔 Forsaw that it might not hold and chose to stay to maintain it. Since legwork that a knack for thinkering and how naturally helpful the express is, only made it natural to rebuild the damages the stellaron incured to the planet then. Thus went down as the actual fathers of the penacony today. Also forseeing their life expectancy, i guess they wanted to solve that issue of being limited to it. Thus project robot protector was born. Liken to how scaramouche was created to house the gnosis. Misha, like you said, would house the stellaron. They thought him a lot of things, and mightve eventually formed a familial bond. Which kinda explains to my brain why the voices / memory glimpses, misha referred to him as Mikhail, his name, but now in his voicelines, he's grandpa. The bond grew. Oh this is the astro boy ref, tho it has been a while since ive seen the show hehe. Anw i really did enjoy the theory! I love Misha and i have wondered what and why was he in the first batch of characters they released for 2.0, whwn along side him we have black swan and sparkle, and how they be moving in penacony. It tells my brain Chekhovs Gun! Hes such an outlier that we were made to dismis him in the vast see of characters whose baclgrounds we dunno but its the same for him! They painted the narrative to focus on everything else but him, the gun in the third act 👀✨

Oh and even with the clockie interaction, he wanted us to help Misha but even then the focus wasnt much on Misha, it was more on Clockies ability to control emotion, sneakin in game mechanics to distract us, and Acheron, cos the conflict has more to do with her.

Scaramouche is one of my favorites. I don't think it's an accident that there are a lot of similarities between Scaramouche and Misha (the puppetish background, feeling discarded, housing an unspeakable power in their body). Also, while I don't think Misha is connected to Acheron in this universe, Acheron seems to be this universe's version of the Raiden Shogun (Ei) and so I don't think its a coincidence that Acheron is one of the few other characters we see Misha interact with (although there isn't enough there to make a huge theory on it). I love your thoughts, and im SO EXCITED for the new update in a few days!

Yooooo, have you played the Penacony quest The Whisper? I just discovered it last night, and the text "Welcome to ∆∆∆∆" is absolutely WILD! Definitely reminded me of your question of what did the trailblazers find after the Stelleron burst but before the influence of Harmony. I think I misunderstood the situation or your position before reading that text, and now I get it. The Stelleron turned the dream zone into chaotic nightmare fuel, and the Family brought harmony and order to a small slice of the dream zone to make their Moments (I still don't think they had to tamper with the sealed Stelleron to make the Dreamscape). Beyond that area is the chaos of the rest of dream Penacony, which the constructed Moments are sinking back into, being reclaimed. Damn. You are on to something real.

So I didn't get the chance to watch this until after seeing how the story of Penacony canonically plays out and honestly? I prefer this 😅 It kind of felt like things like the Order were brought in too late to feel properly integrated into what the previous parts of the story had built up to, while everything with Misha and the Watchmaker...it was treated with gravitas but as it was happening i jusy felt dissapointed that it was going nowhere, all the build up just to find out it was already too late for them to have any impact on the story aside from giving the Trailblazer their new path. But this? Misha having an active role in the situation, his existence given layers of purpose instead of sort of being an accident, sort of a place holder who was expected to just sit around waiting? I genuinely love this! I wish they'd gone this route more, even if they still wanted everything with the Order and the Oak family they could have just done something about them looking for the Stellaron before enacting their plan and Misha hiding it from them, it would even make more sense why the Watchmaker sent out all those strange invitations to so many factions - he needed back up and probably expected the Nameless to help, but having so many other conflicting factions would hopefully cause chaos that the Oak family would need to deal with, giving Misha a chance God, can you imagine a scene where Sunday figures out that the Stellaron was IN Misha and unlocked his box in front of the horrified trailblazer and THEN that part of the story actually took off? It could even have unlocked Mishas understanding that he's not a real person in the process so they could still have that passing of the torch between generations of Nameless ending with our Trailblazer receiving Mikhails hat and the Harmony path It really feels like the entire story would have benefited from the developers seeing this video 😅

FNAF and HSR are my favorite games so hearing a theory combining both is awesome! Though I would like to add that many people have mentioned Misha like Gallagher because I was listening to his voice lines and also a gang saw him and I think Acheron? And there has been stylistic eyes before I think at least a couple times. I’d also like to mention that there are voice lines in the characters information that are from different parts of their lives some from past and present so it could just be that. I don’t have anything against this theory but I want to add these information to the table. I’m not very sure about this theory but they are sure cooking something with Misha and it’s exciting! And it’s also pretty crazy you guessed that Mikhail was the Watchmaker. And I like how you connected Misha and C.C they’re my favorite characters lol

People of penacony dreamt of freedom... And stellaron gave them escape from reality... That's my speculation about the stellaron in penacony... Being free... But still locked up by their own ideals and dreams. And also, the timeline problem can be resolved using informations from one world quest from 2.0 with genius society member chadwick. We met him in the dreamscape (dream's edge near the verdant manager) as old man... But in reality he was just remnants of his memories floating in the dream pool. You can easily be already dead in the reality, but as long as your memories can exist (in a form of dream bubble) you can continue your life in dreamscape... Of course it still isn't infinite life.... Imagine getting more and more tired from memories from last 500 years... Not everyone can handle it.

This is a really good theory! There’s a lot about it that I like and agree with. However personally I don’t think that Misha is a puppet but rather a memetic entity similar to Clockie. A lot of people have pointed out that other than the Trailblazer, nobody has interacted with or even mentioned Misha, like he was invisible. I think it’s more likely this Misha is a memory clone of the real Misha, much like how in one sidequest the woman in the lobby made a clone of her sister after she killed her (this game is messed up sometimes). Also I don’t think in-game paths are representative of their canon paths. While some have argued they can be, I don’t think that’s accurate because look at Sparkle. She is the exact opposite of Harmony, there’s no way her in game path represents anything about her. Although I don’t disagree with the idea Misha is in some way connected to the Stellaron.
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately for this video, I chose different dialogue lines that never drew attention to the fact that no one could see Misha, it completely few under my radar. So yes you are correct - memoform, not puppet. I did have a pretty long exchange with someone about in game paths, and I believe their canon. The thing about harmony specifically is it's synergy between moving parts, but how that looks differs from character to character. Looking at the other harmony characters we have Asta who is obsessed with stars (many individual stars coming together to make constellations and planetary systems), Bronya, who considers it her job to promote unity within the people, Ruan Mei, a geneticist, who breaks down the building blocks of life and builds them up again in new ways (many parts working together to form a whole). With Sparkle, she has many different parts of herself, different masks, but as insane as she is, the masks do work together in a way. That's why she's harmony. The paths are canon, but they're not linked to ideology, but rather method.

Honestly it’s a very good theory and is rly similar to the one I have (heads up I’m not that great at English) My theory goes that misha just like the trailblazer is a vessel for the stellaron but is unaware and just like his grandfather wants to travel outside of penacony but as a result is without knowing drowning penacony and this is why clockie and the other cartoon characters came to life to keep misha from leaving, I always thought that clockie having a clockwork ability was super weird but with misha want to travel it might be that clockie can use it in misha to keep him from leaving (it sounds strange but hold on I’m cooking slowly) with the new quest we know that mikhail most likely actually inherited his title from the previous clockmaker the original one who freed penacony and as a result had a legacy passed onto him and now that mikhail is gone(ded) misha is the new legacy I believe that mikhail knowing that he won’t last forever left and sent out the music box before he passed away to be received by the astral express, the writing is very different from mishas and even ghallagers
@xtalli1131
@xtalli1131 5 ай бұрын
(I accidentally posted it lemme continue) speaking of ghallager he is almost like a protector of misha and has shown ties to the death meme so what if ghallager was the one who sent the death meme after us after opening the chest because now that misha without knowing is the new legacy (clockmaker) ghallager is helping him by doing his best to keep the chest closed and ultimately keep misha in penacony as well
@xtalli1131
@xtalli1131 5 ай бұрын
My theory is kinda all over the place purely because I would rly like misha to join the astral express as well I also forgot to mention but i personally think that mikhail was unfortunately killed by the family but the family knew their was a new watchmaker so it didn’t rly matter to them

Your theory pretty much follows my thoughts as well. I will say though, be careful of trusting anything Gallagher says. The followers of the Enigmata are known for obscuring the truth and flat-out lying. Gallagher has a major part to play in this, but we don't know what kind, and we don't actually know if he even told the truth about anything that happened in the past on Penacony. So we'll see how this plays out. Great thoughts!!!

Goddamnit ever since 2.0 started I also always had the thought of Misha being a Stellaron vessel at the back of my mind and after every update it just seems to be the case. Also the theory of Misha being Mikhail's grandchild, a stellaron vessel, a puppet, and the watchmaker's legacy all at the same time so far has no holes in the story. The only thing that needs patching up here is the story of Mikhail 500 years ago, and how Gallagher describes it. Although, being a follower of Enigmata, what he says require a planet sized grain of salt. Lastly I think there's more to clockie's gang than being Misha's imagination.
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 5 ай бұрын
The "Minions of the Enigmata" - the entire point of them is to obscure the truth, so yeah. My current theory is Gallagher is Hanunue (which would mean him calling Sunday "my brother" is a reference to his former identity). If you look at the documents available in the bookshelf in game, they STATE DIRECTLY that Hanu was the head of the Bloodhound Family. So I think it's likely that "Gallagher" is just the mask that Hanu currently uses.

Thank you for this theory, Ema! You delivered and cooked with this fr. Now it makes perfect sense why some of the factions who attended are after the Watchmaker's legacy. Assuming that it is indeed a stellaron, such immense power is imperative and could be taken advantaged of. I mean, even Acheron seeks it and I would assume that she might want to destroy it. "...Witness the impossible in the realm of dreams, find the legacy of the Watchmaker, Father of Penacony, and thus the answer to the question: Why does life slumber?" And considering all the points we have, we kinda have the answer to Why does life slumber? If the stellaron is the one powering the dreamscape, and the invitation says we need to find it, then it makes perfect sense why people would rather sleep and dream. I don't know... I could be wrong but this is very interesting to say the least. The oak family probably have some key insight about its nature which is why they sent that cryptic invitation that Hime and Welt was talking about
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 6 ай бұрын
Personally, I don't think the oak family sent out the invitations. I think it was either Black Swan (cause she'd have access to memories that would tell her how to use an Astral Express distress call) or it was Mikhail himself, since he's one of the nameless, and he was just so desperate that he sent it out to anyone he could think of. I didn't talk about it in the video, but Mikhail is in trouble somehow...

I can't remember if the idea of the Stellaron being in Misha was something I saw in the video or something I saw in the comments (it's been weeks since I've watched this theory in my defense), but if it's true that the Stellaron is sealed in Misha, then do we have to worry about a potential 'Sword-in-the-princess' anime moment... except it would be a 'Stellaron in the bellhop' moment...? (actually, it would probably be more accurate to liken the situation to Venti and Signora x-x)

I feel like you can't just use the in-game paths to mark what people actually follow or get the power of, examples are people like jing yuan because his in-game path is erudition even though they follow the hunt, bronya is harmony even though she follows preservation, and finally dr ratio is obviously a follower of nous but his in-game path is the hunt. Buuuut your theory does actually make sense so I can't argue with it that much. (also this is a cool theory)
@iamemamae
@iamemamae 5 ай бұрын
Ah, yes, a handful of people have taken issue with this. Here's what I think is going on - someone is capable of following an aeon, but still draw strength from a different aeon. The Xianzhou in general follows the hunt, but Jing Yuan doesn't have to any more than Gepard or Natasha have to follow Preservation. He follows the Hunt by drawing strength from the path of Erudition - using his mind, thinking his way around problems. In the same way Bronya does follow Qlipoth, but she does so by drawing strength from the path of Harmony - helping people work together, strengthening them. Ratio may sort of follow Nous (if I'm remembering correctly, there is some debate), but he does so with the single-mindedness of the hunt. Their path is method - it has to do with HOW they approach conflicts, not about who they're fighting for.

So, to make the "meme" thing make more sense... it's derived from the original definition of the word which was a sociology concept of units of cultural information that are replicated by mimicry. Cultural concepts and symbols that survive in our minds because we remember, think about and use them. Therefore, the memes in HSR are creatures formed of people's cultural memories of a given concept or idea.
