Something small I love about DS Legends, is that Indigo was almost spared. She didn't have to go to the party, but Fathom invited her. And that might have saved him. Fathom was trying to lead his mother Manta away from Albatross, Indigo was the one to convince him to hide. I'm glad you remembered that.

I reread that section of Darkstalker a couple times to make sure I got details right, but I did remember that from the start! It's such a good detail that perfectly captures the two characters' personalities, Indigo being more logical and knowing to run immediately while Fathom is trying to hope that things will be alright, frozen in place.

As someone who studies similar real-life situations, the way you captured how FAST everything happens is incredible. It feels like forever, and then you realize it was only five minutes. The timing here is really incredible.

I actually hadn't thought too much about the pacing funnily enough, I just tried to make the scenes match the progression of the music haha It was a lot to pack into 5 minutes but I'm happy to see that it was done well! Everything really does happen fast, even in the books, but so much happens that it feels like it becomes independent of time in a way. Thank you very much for this comment, I appreciate it :D ❤️❤️

This was incredible! Makes me want read the book again! The expressions on the characters are so greatly exaggerated. Really gives them personality and a realistic feel as well, like their really feeling the emotions portrayed. Albatrosses snout looking like and albatross beak is also such a great detail!

I just finished Legends - Darkstalker and Fathom quickly became one of my favorite characters of the series. Seeing him go from a kind dragonet to a traumatized one, then beating his own fears for a greater cause was very cool. I'm happy he had a happy ending with Indigo (nearly cried on her "death scene").

Queen Lagoon falling into that fountain was one of the parts of the Seawing Massacre that really stuck with me, so I had to include it. It's just really impactful, even if a small detail. Thank you for sharing it :D

oh my god??? oh my god. this is amazing! the flow of movement is so clear (especially in the indigo/albatross fight scene) and the expressions are so good, some of fathom’s are genuinely heart-wrenching. i particularly love when albatross lifts the boat that the duo are hiding under; the darkness shifting to pure white plus the timing of the music swell is just so well done, gave me chills! awesome animatic, the bits of smoother animation are so incredible and if you do turn this into a full AMV i would absolutely love to see it! great job, congrats on all the hard work!!!

For sure, Fathom healing Indigo was one of the most impactful moments when I first read the book! The fight scene was insane but the story didn't really feel complete without adding it. It's more of a conclusion to the event than Albatross's death.

I prefer this kind of Fathom animatic than the ones where it focuses on Albatross killing everyone. Fathom was only present when he killed Lagoon, the skywings and maybe Splash but he didn't see more than that. I love how you really communicate that panic of the moment here. The envoirements are amazing too, i just love when locations in the books i read get illustrated, even more so than the charachters!

Thank you, I was surprised when I never saw any animatics or AMVs that depict the massacre in a similar way to how I did, and I was especially surprised when I saw that no one put any focus on the moment with Fathom and Indigo at the end! This isn't to say any of them are bad, cause they're great, I wanted to be a bit more faithful to the book itself and really show the emotions that Fathom felt, because in the end it is Fathom's story and not Albatross's. Thank you about the environments too! I wish I had put more time into the backgrounds (they show up in some shots but completely disappear in others), but those I did do I tried to put care into. I plan to pay more attention to the environments in the future!

Your art style is beyond impressive! It looks gorgeous in this animatic style. And seeing how long you took to make it, blows my mind! I felt the exact same working on and off on my two college projects, haha. But this just captures Fathom as a character so well, even Albatross in ways! The movements and use of dynamic posing just gives this animatic such a life I can’t describe. I have to admit I’ve watched it over and over again to look at every single detail! The expressions are amazing at captivating the viewers, not to forget how so well they’re drawn! Emotions on dragons are hard to pull off but this, this is beautiful. Like oh my god man I just- I have no words anymore. xD The music fit the scenes so well from the more lighter hearted start of Fathom and Albatross bonding, to the horrific bloodshed massacre on the beach. Damn ! The overall animation and expressions of the characters are amazing ! And i don't mention the chara design that make the animation so readable ! I love also the fact that you stay very close to the book in term of action, and you really get the scary and creepy vibe that the book have. One of my favorite depiction of the Seawing Massacre i think ^^

This is absolutely gorgeous, i have literal chills on my body. I am not sure if you ever will turn it into a full AMV in the future but if you do i definitelly need to see it.
