If I ever got 3 wishes it would be 1-to play half as good as a Steve Wickham 2- to sit down and play a session with him 3- watch Mike and Steve play together in a small room like this! ❤️

Only Mike and Steve could channel words of Cicero and Homer in such a gorgeous salute to Yeats. We are blessed. #mikescottismyhomeboy

Ok, I'm an old r&r'lr. 60 years old in July. And this, kicks azz on so many levels, you can't put it into words . But you damned sure can feel it. I honestly wonder if this song can be done any better. For me? I don't think so.

you should hear Kenny Craddock's version, very different, and as it was recorded 10 years earlier than this, I would consider this a cover version........a good cover, but still it was Kenny's idea; RIP Kenny

Mike Scott's and Steve Wickham's muscial souls are most beautifully and symbiotically entwined. Their whole is far greater than the sum of its two brilliant, inimitable musical parts, far greater indeed!

If the devil somehow lost his way to Mr. Wickham's house, Steve would pick up his fiddle and the devil would turn tail and run like hell straight back to whence he came.

Mike and Steve alone are a powerhouse duo here...don't need a lot of added strings, synth, or a greek chorus backing! Fisherman's Blues and the Yeats tribute, works the best, IMHO. 'Nearest Thing to Hip' borders on classic perfection...glad to hear Waterboys keeping it real.

Bolt and bar the shutter for the foul winds blow Our minds are at their best this night and I seem to know That everything outside us is mad as the mist and snow That everything outside us is mad as the mist and snow. Horace there by Homer stands, Plato stands below And here is Tully's open page, how many years ago Were you and I, lads, mad as the mist and snow? Were you and I, lads, mad as the mist and snow? You ask what makes me sigh, what makes me shudder so I shudder and I sigh to think that even Cicero And many minded Homer were mad as the mist and snow That Cicero and Homer were mad as the mist and snow That Cicero and Homer were mad as the mist and snow.
