The Way Music's Made is Dying

Like so many professions, musicians are becoming integrators. With the tools available today, people can make music without having to train for years. The trick now is to integrate the tools to produce a top notch musical product. This satirical video tries to touch on some of the issues that will face musicians during this transition.
I feature well-known KZbinr Rick Beato in this satirical video. It is with love that I do so. Rick is a friggin' musical genius. I am fortunate to be exposed to his daily teachings. Rick's been a huge influence on me and others.

newsflash ; digital recording and ai aren't 'quick joys'. it takes a week sometimes to make a song in a daw, when i can play it in a few minutes on a real instrument. a.i. still is dumb when it comes to prompts. i use splice's a.i 'stacks' feature and it takes up to an hour for me to get results i like, and what you get is far from a finished product., it's definitely not instantaneous. if i used udio, i'd make covers of the songs it generates, and edit the lyrics and music. i'm not sure where you're coming from. i love rick, but his 'hey you kids get off my lawn 'rants i just ignore. and i'm an old jazz fusion snob who really likes pop music, but you know, not just some dumb barebones trap beat with vile lyrics (and i LOVE trap music, it's one of my favorite genres, but the commercial trap music is trash. i like the obscure artists who make beautiful trap music; ekali, zomboi, any 'wave' trap music, and so on)

I get it's satire, but Beatos on point. Comming from working in live music for the last 18yrs on some of the biggest tours and festivals worldwide, it painfully to hear badly made vst music pumped thru multi million dollar rigs that sound techs can't tune to sound good, because it's not. Its not well made, its recycled samples and loops, it's basic. Alot of what's out there atm are simpleton nursery rhymes made by simpletons that have never spent the 10000hrs needed at anything and they're called musicians because other simpletons think they are. Literal "Human Music"

The only reason today's professional music is even remotely tolerable is because of the lousy sound systems we use. Back when music mattered, even teens invested in thousand-dollar stereo equipment (about $5K today). Now, my earbuds "almost" let me hear what I'm listening to.
