The C64 music for this game is one of my favorites. There's a great digitized "AYYY-YAH" scream during the load screen as well, which we used to startle people with their first time over. Great game!
@Tetlee2 ай бұрын
@@KeithBBergman yep the c64 was the best version of this game I believe(as a Spectrum kid it pained me to admit it😆). This version is great though, hey you need a BBC Micro in your war room, or do you already have one?🙂

I remember, when my older brother bought a compilation, FIVE STAR III (tape), for our Commodore 64 back in the late 1980's, THE WAY OF THE EXPLODING FIST was one of the games in that compilation. It even included three of my favorite games: THE TRAP DOOR, URIDIUM and FIRELORD 😺👍🕹️. And as we gave our first try for that game, we were even amazed with the amazing music tracks 🎵🎶 and the beating and screaming sound effects 😺👍🕹️. The graphics on the BBC Micro look more likely the Amstrad CPC version of this game 😹👍🕹️. The music and sound effects 🎵🎶 sound purrfect 😺👍🕹️. Also, you know, how to beat your opponents 😹✊🕹️. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.

I am not familiar with BBC Micro port! Love this game, though. And I mean, I really love it. I still play the Speccy port on the regular and use nine keys on the keyboard because joysticks are for lightweights 😂 The game is perfection, I love how it's about patience and timing rather than button bashing and silly fireballs and stuff. I was weirdly just playing this the other night, it was the C64 version and was loaded old school from tape. I've played the Beeb version too and it's actually quite good. Exploding fist was pretty much the standard until International Karate on the Atari and C64 came along and nicked the crown. There's actually a nice little Karate game for the Atari machines called 'Chop Suey', The backgrounds aren't great but the character animation is smooth and it runs like shit off a shovel.
