Such a beautiful and powerful video! We felt honored to view it with some of the crew of Hokulea this evening on the Big Island. 🌊💙

Im born and raised from Maui, Hawaii and the way Nainoa speaks is the language of my soul. I am a navigator, right now far from my Hawaii nei, but I am spreading the culture like how my family so generously shared with me. The Hokulea has just arrived in Ventura, where I currently am, and I am taking my daughters to go see her tomorrow. I am so humbled and grateful for Hawaii and this video captures the philosophy and identity of the island culture very well. I used to think Hawaii was far behind the mainland in so many ways - but now as adult, I know that Hawaii is actually lightyears ahead of most places in terms of COMMUNITY & CULTURE. We kept the culture alive in Hawaii and the indigenous knowledge is celebrated everyday. See you tomorrow! Aloooooooooha! CHEEEEHU!

I love all you are doing and have followed Hokulea for years. Nainoa, you express the voice of my heart and are one of my heroes. I have deepest respect for you and the navigators and the spreading of aloha around the world. I will travel on the 3rd canoe and look forward to this journey. Mahalo. 🌺🌈🙏

Oh you know that💖☮️💖☮️🌴and only with aloha, only when there is the connecting of the earth and water with the many inhabitants is there ever going to be rightness on this fragile and giving planet. Wishing you much Aloha Janice🌸🌴💖🤙🏽🌟such a gift you have been blessed with. And the mana finds it way into every heart.

I was in Hawai'i when Hokule'a departed and returned. I was strongly influenced by the Hawaiian culture and see evidence that the foundation of Aloha is spreading globally. Will one of the stops in British Columbia be Haida Gwaii? I would love my granddaughter (15yo), who has been stating she wants to move to Haida Gwaii, to be a part of this movement. If there is a planned stop on Haida Gwaii, would it be in 2023?

Samoans were the original hence why early french settlers nicknamed them "the navigator islands". We taught the art of navigating to all islands this has been documented in history.
