I feel like the online guitar community veers further and further into shredding or shred-adjacent, overly complex and intricate. Seeing shred guitars coming back just confirms it for me. Meanwhile I'm out here with my jazzmaster trying to play slow like BB.
@brandonjackson58653 ай бұрын
It goes in cycles 80s nostalgia is the trend or one of the trends now. I started playing in the early to mid 90s . I remember “vintage” guitars being used guitars used Gibsons and Fenders weren’t as desirable as the shreddy stuff at first and then all the sudden old sunburst fenders and gibsons were back in. Those old fenders and Gibsons will always be the defacto electric guitars in most people’s minds. I’m a metal head so I’m probably biased but I feel like there’s as much guitar gear targeting bluesy playing styles as much as there is shred stuff but the shred stuff and players are quicker to accept new tech and gadgets than the other genres so maybe there’s something to that targeting shred players because maybe they buy more new gear ?

The Invader is a one-trick pony. They are so hot that they will hardly clean up at all. Do yourself a favor and buy the JB and then add gain where needed. The Kramer pointy guitars with the star inlays - they were making these for Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) back in 1987ish.

Acoustisonics are weird. Just saying. Also, you ain't losing my Patreon sub. If anything, being open about why you chose the Anti makes me enjoy supporting you more. The Anti, from the reviews I have seen, sounds great and look great.

The new Pacer Carrera look cool! Kramer needs to reissue the JK8000 and Mirror Topped Teles now. They should give Kala Kent a signature JK and endorse her as she’s an insanely good guitar player and the only one on KZbin whose main guitar is a Kramer. I still think the acoustsonic is the dumbest thing ever and I still dislike them as much as when they first came out. Please don’t fill my KZbin feed with acoustisonic demos again.

@@versnellingspookie can’t go wrong with a Gretsch I have a white Falcon Rancher acoustic Jumbo and it played better out of the box than guitars twice it’s price by the time I put my own setup on it it’s even better now. I’d definitely rather have the gretsch you’re talking about instead of an acoustic sonic guitars like that don’t sound like an acoustic unplugged and they don’t sound like an electric plugged up nor do they sound like an acoustic/electric full body type guitar either mic’d or and a piezo . The Nylon electric thin line like Ibanez makes for Tim Henson would be my choice if I wanted or needed a thin body acoustic for whatever reason

The new fender finnias actually sounds crap like all acoustasonics! Mediocre acoustic, mediocre electric. Does nothing well. Get your self a proper acoustic and electric and you will have a few bucks left to get yourself a second hand CH-1 and maybe even more pedals for the same price! Massively overrated. Have you ever seen a Tommy Emmanuel playing an acoustasonic live in front of a whole theatre because he’s got issues with feedback? 😂 he doesn’t even use a sound hole cover ffs.. know your eq, notch and phase!
@versnellingspookie3 ай бұрын
Very often Tommy Emmanuel does use a soundhole cover, and he dimes the internal microphone, and then sets his EQ flat, this is at least what he said to Premier Guitar in his Rig Rundown, this way his microphone picks up all the acoustic drum parts as well as the harmonics. But you're oh so right about the EQ stuff, that is what makes acoustics sound really good. Look up Ryley Walker his video on Reverb their channel, he has such a great acoustic tone, he blends 2 pickups (one LR Baggs and one Piezo) and it is the best acoustic sound i have ever heard
@bensherwood7773 ай бұрын
@@versnellingspookie interesting points. You are right, out of the 4 times I've seen Tommy live, at least once he was using a sound hole cover. I think he does only when he really has to or only with certain high-feedback guitars. Thanks for the tip, I will. Also check out Mike Dawes' system. I think he uses a combination of internal mic, piezo, magnetic (for bass only through a separate output) AND a contact transducer system such as the K&K which I have on my Taylor in combination with a piezo. We reached such a high level of amplification these days, amazing technology, however I still think you can't beat a dual microphone system to amplify an acoustic guitar (in a studio/recording situation, not live).
