Yeah, i was a fan of abel's work before after hours came out and i think after hours is prolly his best work alongside dawn fm and kissland imo. I respect fantano but boy, music critics or just art critics in general leave a lot to be desired sometimes. how you can't see the essence of the work or stylistic choices made in order to create a majestic auditory landscape is beyond me. Btw, love your journey through abel's discography dude! You seem to get the artistic value of it all and i respect that!

Interesting, I’m definitely excited to compare!! yes, I know what you mean Fantano is just backwards to me sometimes lmao And thank you! I definitely appreciate what I’ve heard so far, it’s wildly impressive and I was shocked at some of these criticisms lol Thanks for watching! 😁

Thank you!! I feel like you have to strength test your own opinions and stances sometimes, you know? I know I really like something when I can look at someone that I respect and tell them they’re wrong about it lmao But no really it’s good to subject yourself to opposition and at the very least try to understand where they’re coming from! I come back to Too Late just to listen to the background vocals in the last chorus it’s so good man. He’s lying if he says this wasn’t one of his Favorite albums of 2020. Able took a lot of time with this album & it shows. Everything is how it should be imo Thanks again for the reaction friend!
@YourLocalMelomaniac8 ай бұрын
Yes, everything on the record feel extremely intentional!! And I relisten to Too Late for the instrumental, the way it’s played out by the end is haunting. I think it’s just a like heavily distorted bass guitar. Maybe Im wrong, but surely you know what I’m talking about lmao Thanks for watching!!

I really like Fantano as a person, but I think I have agreed with like four things he’s said about The Weeknd lol It’s so weird to me that it seems like he doesn’t understand the intention behind the choices Abel makes with his voice and production and lyrics. Also, his favorite album is the Echoes of Silence mixtape - which is great - but his best, is crazy. But I do think he likes The Weeknd. I do love him when he dislikes things I dislike though 😂 Anthony did not know of him when Trilogy came out. In his first reaction to House of Balloons he thought The Weeknd was a band lol AH sounded “new” because of the soundscape, and it’s also “new” coming off of My Dear Melancholy, the album preceding AH. I can’t wait for you to hear his beginning 🖤

Yeah that’s how I feel with him about several artists honestly. But I completely agree that it’s a great time when he’s ripping into something that I have no attachment to, he can definitely be pretty savage and it’s great 😂😂 I’m so excited for his early work, the more I hear about it the more I anticipate the listen lmao Thanks for watching!!

Alright alright you officially won me over, this is probably my favorite album of all time and when fantano dropped the review I could see why he had the criticisms he did. I just didn’t know if I agreed with him. At the time he sort of took away some of the enjoyment and excitement I had for the album because he was a music critic and what did I know I am just a casual lol. But it was just his OPINION. He may know a lot about music but it dosent make him right. Thanks for standing on business my man definitely subscribing!
@YourLocalMelomaniac8 ай бұрын
I’ve been there for sure, definitely good to remember that it’s ultimately just someone’s perception of the music at the end of the day. It should never take away from your experience or attachment to the music, so Im glad you still choose to enjoy the music! Too many people follow exactly what these reviews say and just regurgitate their points. And it’s like to me if something is good it’s good, even if it completely defies all logic and reason lmao, it’s okay to like what you like even if literally everybody else is telling you it’s trash lmao Thanks for subscribing and for watching!! 😁

Fantano has reviewed every single Project by Abel, including the mixtapes. Everyone got rightfully upset when he gave House of Balloons a 3/10.

Please listen to Blinding Lights (feat. Chromatics). It’s just a remix with a different beat, not worth a video review, but you might like it more than the original!

Anthony might be right on one thing he did not completely reinvent himself again it means if he fully reinvent himself his new self gonna kill his old self in a mv to symbolise it.he didn't do that in after hours if you listen to end of my dear melancholy he's gonna tease after hours I don't wanna spoil it so basically after hours is mix of his all work with his every old producer like Daheala(kissland) and Illangelo (trilogy)but you can still easily tell apart after hours from his any project that's the abel's magic of creating atmosphere and vibe👌
@YourLocalMelomaniac8 ай бұрын
That’s awesome! I’ll definitely have to look for that, and that’s all just very interesting Thank you for the info there! And yes the atmospheres of the two records I’ve heard are completely distinct from each other. It really is amazing 💯
