I’m obsessed with After Hour’s sound But I believe that the first one to bring back the 80’s sound was Taylor Swift’s 1989 (2014) than Emotion by Carly Rae (2015) Noting that Gaga brought back the electro synth sound since 2008 So yeah pop girls have been doing this for years .. Happy to hear this type of music from Abel & getting explode like this wow Don’t forget Super Bowl on Sunday

I think he makes this kind of music because he just really loves pop, R&B and new wave music from the 80’s and has for a long time, and long before he was a “starboy”. Can’t think of anyone else in recent memory that mentioned “New Edition” in a song-maybe ever actually 😂Think he’s doing what he loves. And doesn’t care if everyone gets it or not. He’s just gonna do what speaks to him. Personally speaking, This song is such a delicious throwback and homage to 80’s synth pop. I here the ghosts of Duran Duran, A-Ha, Tears For Fears and The Human League all dancing in this light. As always, his vocals and writing are also stellar. The light from this track is blinding. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT ❤️

I agree with other people who have commented. You bring a depth to your reviews I haven’t heard before. Your focus on the production (instrumental and vocal) is so enlightening. What I would love to hear is more of your assessment of the songs from an artistic perspective, meaning what does a song mean, what does it say about the artist, how it affects you personally, how it might affect others, etc. Thank you for channel. It’s unique and so valuable.
