Yo dude, awesome vid! Nostalgia is such a big part of games, we all have those handful of games we return to, no matter what

Indeed, some games have that inexplicable pull! Thanks, mate!

I revisit old games a lot, but not the bad ones. Like, I also have some nostalgia for TR Angel of Darkness, but I wouldn't play it anymore. I revisit old games that are genuinely timeless in their design, the ones that are just as playable nowadays.

For me it’s not the memories. I just don’t want to play a 70+ cinematic game that feels empty, while it feels like almost Al the other games that was released this year. That’s why I love retro games & games developed by indie developers

I understand what you’re saying, although I play a lot of modern titles. It’s the majority I play nowadays, to be completely honest. But saturation and repetitive ideas are definitely issues on the industry today.

@@ghazzmediarespective ideas is not the problem. We need more smaller games without needles filler. I really enjoyed the latest Ratchet and Clank. Hardly any new ideas but it played great. Non stop action. Too many games rely on traveling in huge worlds. Collecting branches, flowers and materials. Just let me play a stage in a beautifull world without all the side content. Let me best a mission or a boss and give me a new weapon without grinding for iron.

Inovating is risky for multimillion dollar companies and investments, that's why the industry is walking a very straight and safe path. You see way more different ideas on indie games because there's (almost) no financial risk involved.

You couldn't be more wrong. In fact, there's dozens and dozens of videos already out there proving just that. Nostalgia is only a factor for certain games, but most old games are still loved because they're good. Good game design does not age, unlike your outdated mindset.

Your comment proves you haven’t watched the video. I’m referring to generally bad or flawed games, not games in general, and especially not good games.

@@ghazzmedia I have, you barely mentioned them (and some examples mentioned really aren't bad or were always considered bad). On top of that, the title very much implies it's a general statement. Could make it an easy fix by adding the word 'bad', but it's just clickbait that promises something that it doesn't deliver. It's like making a video titled "all men are bad" and then only talking about specific types of men and only mentioning that it's not about all men in a short sidenote. Congruence is important.

Uhmmm, cuz they legit rule? My brother in Christ, would you rather play Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League or Concord than Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3?

Never in a million years. But you also compared two awful games to a very good one, and it's not even the best in the series ahah

@@ghazzmedia There isn't a single new skating game released in over 15 years that even compares to THPS3.

It’s subjective. Both THPS 2 and 4 are better than the third. One came before, the other came after. In recent years? Sure, I agree with you.

@@ghazzmedia They aren't new, nor did they come out in the past 15 years, nor do they make THPS3 worse by virtue of being there.
