Looking at the timeline I am quite sure this directly inspired it. Only a few days ago I saw a video about the Thunderbirds on the TV 21 channel where you can actually see super 8 video’s of the Anderson’s visiting an US fair looking for inspiration. I’d have to check if it was actually the same one but I wouldn’t be surprised. But even without knowing that the similarities are simply too strong to be coincidental.

Funny, Formula 1 banned the 4-wheel steering because of its amazing responsiveness & traction giving unfair advantage to those who wished to race with it.

It indeed works. The Tyrell formula 1 car which had it did however not perform that well overall. For the reasons see my own remark. So was it actually banned or is that just an assumption?

4 front wheels may have been necessary for the weight of the nuclear reactor...

even today so many people believable in questionable ideas like battery powered vehicles, while completely ignoring all the drawbacks. same with micro nuclear reactors in the 60s. But, it might be funny to see how things evolve if and when nuclear batteries will hit the market. This could bring back the fantastic idea of almost limitless clean power for vehicles.

There is nothing questionable about battery electric vehicles, especially since there are millions of them driving around all over the globe. Besides, BEVs came first. It was internal combustion that was questionable since you had to hand crank cars to start them. It was only due to the development of battery powered cars that led to batteries that could crank start dirty, complicated petrol engines.
@rieger.design
@rieger.design 13 күн бұрын
@@RealBLAlley I refer to batteries as a questionable energy storage in the sense that it is considered by many people as some kind of The holy Grail of sustainability and environmentalism. Electric propulsion for vehicles offers its set of challenges and problems the same as internal combustion engines
@RealBLAlley
@RealBLAlley 12 күн бұрын
@@rieger.design No one thinks that about batteries. That is a strawman argument the EV haters attribute to supporters of EVs. EVs are superior in every way except for the batteries, specifically the size and weight and the recharge times, and to a lesser degree the chemical makeup and availability of said chemicals. The difference is that internal combustion peaked decades ago, but battery technology is improving at an exponential rate.

My groovy childhood.....thanks for the excellent effort. When I was a young gearhead, the 1968 Hemi Dart was available for purchase from The Chrysler Corporation. It was not street legal, a factory drag car with acid-dipped doors and no window crank mechanisms to trim weight. Straps were included to open the windows. Just a suggestion.....Car and Driver might still have something in their archive, and good luck! Subscriber 18 awaits your next video...

You mean the 6 wheel Tyrrell p34- it was done t improve aerodynamics - it also improved the brakes - it was a successful design winning a race and 14 podiums - and also steered exceptionally well - "The steering is so gentle and absolutely free of reaction that you might have thought it was power-assisted!

The Elf Tyrell 6 wheel GP car was from the 70s. So this came first. After came the panther Six which was a real road car. The 4 wheel steer give superb steering and roadholding but at the cost of weight and complexity.

Remove the front wheels, move the secondary front wheels back a bit, shorten the rear end part that is behind the rear wheels and make the steering, motor and interior more normal and they could have had a real cool looking sports car.

I once rode an armoured car with double front axle steering. It went through corners like a dream, in spite of its size and mass. So the theory is actually right. The only problem is that it makes things worse in all other aspects, as there are: size, weight, cost, complexity, efficiency, etc.

@@dipling.pitzler7650 Thanks for your comment! Since I don’t have a lot of time for 3D modeling, what I usually do is search for free models online with a CC BY or CC BY-SA license (which generally means I can use them as long as I give credit). That's why I add the (1) in the left corner of the video when showing the model and include a Google Doc in the description with the proper attribution. Once I have the model, I import it into the software I need, anything from Blender to Davinci Resolve, and then I shoot the shots. This way, I can work with pre-made models and tweak them to fit my vision. The shots are not AI-generated ✌

Did you control one of the tracks, with your console lever? And your wife, the other track with the other level? You would sure need a good cooperation with that type of Panzer-steurung... But certainly crazy with style&flair! If you saw this car (they only made a 3/8 model?) In the days, you would sure think whaaat??? Then the car would not get out of your mind... A good marketing stunt in that way... In every way 100% opposite to a Cybertruck.
