Love it !! It is now the year 2024 😀This movie was made in Big Bear Lake in 1956 & I've lived in Big Bear since 1984. It's great seeing Old Big Bear in 1956. The people who owned "CHADS" sold the club in the early 2000s I believe. It's still there but under a different name. A lot of great interesting scenes of Big Bear. Big Bear was a Hot Spot for film making up until 90s early 2000s. Film crews always around doing shoots back then.

'The Werewolf' (1956) was an entertaining movie indeed and I hadn't seen it before, so thanks for posting it, Creature Features. :)

@@eriksnead3134Wow! Must of been a great time growing up. I was born in 1975, and growing up in the 80s was awesome, but I've always liked imagining what it would of been like being young in the 50s, and 60s. I live one state above Virginia, in the little town of Chesapeake City, Maryland. Whether it was the 50s, 60s, or the 80s, they were definitely better times than 2024, that's for sure. I first saw this film on TCM years ago. The late Robert Osborne introduced it. He liked this film, and thought very highly of the actor who played the werewolf, Steven Ritch. This film is unusually well done. It's not of the "I was a Teenage Werewolf" type of drivel. A plus: it has a cast of many recognizable character actors of the time.

He does take his shoes off. I really like the makeup design. Its minimal. No prosthetics, only hair and face paint. That's the direction Paul Naschy also took in his films. It would have been more effective to use actual canine sounds like in The Wolfman, than human sounding snarling. Still this is a great Big Bear B Movie. Love it.

I watched this movie for the first time last night and was surprised at how good it was. My only complaint was that I didn't like the way they built up to finding out how he became a werwolf . The sheriff was suspicious of the two doctors that did that to him but then it was all dropped in the last part of the movie and they hunted him down like a rabid animal.

The only drawbacks this movie has is when he transforms he needs to be still so that it looks more realistic. Like how Lon Chaney did in Frankenstein meets the Wolfman. Those were very Classic transforms. And I thought Werewolves only can out during a full moon, not in broad daylight.
