Thanks! I needed to know about this drop hood. My layers are also almost all hooded and my suspicions about those being a little annoying with the drop hood’s collar are looking accurate.

Love my Beta AR, Beta LT, and Alpha SV all have special places as my fave hard shell Arc jackets. Nice colour!

What is the main difference between the AR and LT? I’m on the fence about which one I should get.
@Yachtzeee Жыл бұрын
@@bluestuesking AR is a thicker shell. Has a drophood. Although they make the AR in a Stormhood design. AR has double hood as well. If you live in a warmer climate that doesn’t get below freezing. The LT is an amazing option. In a multi climate the AR is one of the best one and done jackets Arc makes.

The hand signals for counting at the beginning made me flash back to years ago when I lived in China. They make so much for sense for counting one handed.

I loved my Beata AR jacket, but I'd call it the absolute worst jacket for backpackers. Here's why. I bought mine just before the pandemic (who knew?). As a result, it got very light use for two years. I only wore it in the city to go shopping and for a few day hikes in a nearby forest. Suddenly, the main zipper stopped working. The jacket still looked like new, but it wouldn't zip. That would be tragic if I were backpacking in the snow. To make matters worse, I sent it abroad at my own expense to be repaired, and not only would Arcteryx not repair it, but they also refused to honor the warranty. I have a Jack Wolfskin jacket that's nearly fifteen years old that still has perfectly working zippers and cost a fraction of the price. I've heard from people who had a good experience getting repairs and replacements, but it's not a guarantee. Their customer service is random, and at this price point, it's not worth the risk.

This isn't my experience with backpacking in it, Arcteryx warranty in general or repairs. I'm fortunate to live near a "Rebird" store which does in-house zipper repair though I've not had any zipper issues.

hey man i see your wearing a large, i tried on the rush skii jacket in a large and it was too big even though I am a large most of the time. How does the Beta fit? I am 5'11 170 if that helps
@abearsmind2 жыл бұрын
The Beta will fit more or less the same, perhaps half an inch smaller as it is still made for layering.

Is it possible to size down on the Beta AR? I have the Beta LT and Zeta LT but the sleeves are longer than I'd like so as the Beta AR is wider sizing down is possible?
@abearsmind3 жыл бұрын
Yep you can size down for trim fit if you have no plans on layering with it, not recommended though. Might be more worthwhile to size down on your LT’s and stay TTS on the AR.
@iguessitsmanny2 жыл бұрын
All Arc sleeves are designed to be long to allow for comfortable layering and freedom of motion for dynamic are movements. Downsizing will also make the shoulders more narrow and will significantly reduce freedom of movement from your upper body

Just tighten the Velcro cuffs around your wrists.

But why oh why do Arc’teryx make the sleeves of their jackets so stupidly long, it does my head in 🙏🏻
