This was not a good recap. No shade to the presenter, but the script had significant errors. I can only hope this is a result of the strike preventing the show crew from reviewing this.
@sketch2002 Жыл бұрын
Only a minute in and it struck me too. "Men who were born with great power thought they could cage darkness itself." That's only a small part of what happened and not even entirely acurate for that small part. Women and men attempted to access a new power which turned out to be "darkness itself" (not really, but okay), and then once they realized what it was the women refused to help fix the problem the men couldn't do it alone so it failed.

That Isn't the problem here. That is something that shouldn't be in a show recap, because it's not something the show has touched on yet. The show is presenting a partial and biased view point(an Aes Sedai's) in the early season, and will likely expand into the greater picture in later seasons. The issue with this recap is that it doesn't present things show in the show accurately. It uses the wrong names for things, and presents events in a way the showrunner has explicated said are wrong. @@sketch2002

The most egregious error of season 1 happened at the 45 second mark of the first episode when they said the Dragon Reborn could be a woman.. Completely destroyed the entire premise of the series..
@csarmii Жыл бұрын
@@Yogurt_Fingers no it didn't.
@Yogurt_Fingers Жыл бұрын
@@csarmii Yes it did. The Dragon Reborn cannot be a woman. You'd know this if you read the books. The male half of the Power (Saidin) is tainted and drives wielders crazy. Women can use Saidar without going insane which is why there are no male Aes Sedai. The reason why people fear the Dragon is because he may go crazy and break the world again. So yes. They destroyed the entire premise of the books in order to be politically correct.

This is horrible. Showing a series of scenes and describing the scene is not a recap. There is no actual explanation of what was occurring, just a series of 3-5 second scene descriptions, leading to it being at least twice as long as it needed to be. The narration was also poor IMO, it was like the person was given a list of lines and told to read them all with exactly the same inflection and lack of emotion or interest in what they were doing.
@Yogurt_Fingers Жыл бұрын
They ruined the entire premise of the books at the 45 second mark of episode 1 by saying the Dragon Reborn could be a woman.. This isn't Wheel of Time. This is someone's fan fiction with the IP name slapped on.. Disgraceful..

I did read all of this series. The Amazon series focuses on the women who can channel. Not a bad rendition but not a complete one ; there are men in the world. It misses Perrin, the blacksmith and Thon, the gambler, who become the husband of the Empress. There are some implied attachments that i missed from reading the books. Found the structures of societies interesting regarding channeling woman. Oath restriction, self imposed or rather cultural restrictions and government imposed. restrictions. The book spins around three men who have destiny , that if they can survive will restore the the world. I was intrigued by Thom, the gambler. Overall a worthy watch, but focusing on the women's part of the books.
@raybod1775 Жыл бұрын
I’ve read the entire Wheel of Time series, no this series isn’t the same as the book, so what? All the characters are generally close to the spirit of each character and places are similar to what’s in the series. Story is different all over the place. The special effects are generally excellent. Characters are all different, interesting and generally well acted… not all and not always. This is one of the best fantasy series I’ve seen even though it doesn’t exactly follow the series and has a few bumps, especially the first episode.
@richardangers2566 Жыл бұрын
It focuses on channeling women. The top producer is the leading woman. Different script writers, but I am waiting for the Empress and the gambler to meet and the curing of the blight on the male chanelling power. A good production but incomplet.

Actually it shows the difference of time and lost of knowledge after the breaking of the world. Moraine channels as she has been taught but the one that in season one is called the Dark One channels has how it was in the Age of Legends before their source were corrupted and also he is more powerful than Moraine. It was a good scene it showed the difference between an Aes Sedai of the present time in their world and a 3.000 years old Aes Sedai that lived in the peak of knowledg and technology as we see in the scene of Lews Therin and Latra
@frankdijkhuizen9957 Жыл бұрын

My take is that it is from the female channelors point of view. Perrin and the gambler's stories are quite interesting to me. Dune has now been made twice, oceans 8? 9?, too. Perhaps, time will turn out a focused male one or one balanced. If you want to see a movie , quite,different from the book it came from , but quite brilliant in its own rights, read Groom's(?) Forest Gump. Astronaut, Chessmaster, Wrestler, read it.
