I’m still a fan of Asher Roth since the early days. He came to Paris to perform in 2016 and I rapped lark on my go kart with him on stage the audience went crazy and I even stage dived. One of the most cherished moments in my life. Thank you Asher.

Asher deserves more love and respect. He’s a great rapper . Legit lyricist and he doesn’t do anything to be like Eminem whatsoever . It’s unfortunate how ppl form opinions based off of headlines or other ppls reactions or opinions.

Asher Roth had flow but let's face it, he was only ever going to appeal to a certain demographic.
@jblack532311 ай бұрын
Was going to say exactly the same thing. To sell well in rap you have to appeal to the 11-17 year old bracket just as Eminem did. I’m sure he had some older male fans but woman at this time were more interested in commercial dance stuff like Cascada and Black Eyed peas.

Still bumping Asher's music, I'm glad he still making good projects AITBI, the French mixtape (I don't think no one can pronounce lol), Greenhouse effect mixtapes, Flowers On the weekend, Pabst and Jazz, Rawther EP and Retrohash. I respect that he's independent and staying in his own lane, always respected his style and message in his music. It may not have the buzz as it did in his earlier career but I'm glad he still around focusing on Quality rather than quantity.

Asher Roth peaked while he was on the mixtape circuit in the mid 2000s. He's more of an underground rapper, or even someone who belonged in the early 2000s punchline era, where there wasn't enough room for another mainstream white rapper. There was em, then bubba, then Asher on the mixtape circuit, DZK and others on the underground Internet circuit, and that was about it. 8:30 , oh holy hell you said it 😂😂
@Motle009 Жыл бұрын
When I look at his career and his debut album came out 10 years after Eminem’s I feel you are correct on the one part he waited too long to put out a second album. Eminem released his second album a year later and knocked it out the park. That’s one thing I said after he released the first album he should get that next album no more than a year and half after the first one. Especially to keep his name out there. I know he put out some songs and they kept teasing with the second album but it never happened at that time and I guess he ended up leaving Universal. Other thing is he had the same manager as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande who Scooter Braun, but I feel Scooter didn’t have as much influence as he does now remember this was pre-Bieber. The other thing too is all though I Love College worked for him as a single I think it also put him in a box where people thought of him as a party college boy rapper and people overlooked his other music. Even I remember Mac Miller mentioning it in an interview. Still to each their own not everyone wants that type of success and fame maybe felt more comfortable being independent and is happier in that route and much success to him.

I put NO value on what's popular in music these days. You can become an Instagram/SoundCloud/TikTok star pretty much instantly with the right image and or gimmick. Hip hop is about lyrics, flow, creativity. Rap is about being commercial. Lil Dicky should write Asher a check. Props go where props are deserved and Asher gets props from me.

I was always a fan of Roth. He always had interesting lines and bars. "If Dubious had a boy, with Brad Pitt nad Troy then out from the loins I'd be born. If Jason Bourne was to record and join forces with Zack Morris they'd for my performance.* Even his mistake with Nottz Raw was great classic mixtape in my opinion. A lot of people slept on Asher and he was always underrated.
