Somehow at the age of about 15 I found myself and a friend on shrooms at 3am in my room listening to the entire internal affairs album. Id owned it for a couple yrs but never appreciated how amazing it was untip that night. And never fully appreciated the genius of Pharoah until years later. That is a memory I will never forget. Monch is my Scorpio Brother, and someone I've known for some years now. He is indeed one of the most humble beings I've encountered in the industry. He is ironically so humble, that he gets a bit shy when you mention him as one of the greats. Last time I actually saw him was 2019, when I did an opening Deejay set for his anniversary of Internal Affairs...the only time he wants to hear "Simon Says" is when he performs it. He will be turned off if you play it if he is at a venue hearing someone spin... About Russell Simmons. He is also the man who didn't wish to sign Public Enemy either. His biggest concern was creating "hit records" as opposed to strictly having a talent. "In Vitro" is one of my favourite songs. They indeed are incredible and feed off of each other...

That first verse on Broken Again always gives me chills: "She rescued me, my heroine to the end But then she morphed into heroin in a syringe Around my bicep, I would tie a shoestring Tap! five times to find a vein in there Squeeze 7cc's so I could see the seven seas And CC all my friends so they could see what I was seeing But what they saw was a despicable human being So, I guess they just wasn't seeing what I was seeing" I mean, cot diyam. @@thomasmasingi3852 I absolutely LOVE Pharoahe Monch and his albums, but the whole ‘yep, he’s the most technically gifted MC of all time without doubt’ comment is pathetic. There is nothing, outside of your personal opinion, which counts towards your own comment. There is no barometer of which to measure this, in the same way it would be nonsensical of me to say ‘Aesop Rock is without doubt the most technically gifted MC of all time’ for instance. The certainty in your comment, as if you’re the gatekeeper on what constitutes the best of all time. It’s not like comparing the best sports teams of all time where you can judge based on games won, goals scored, trophies collected etc so don’t sit there acting like your opinion counts for anything more than what it is - an OPINION.

I got to hang out with him before a show in June & since I knew he was a huge Myka 9 fan, I brought my Myka 9 book with me to show it to him & we were just geeking out together over the book. He actually purchased a Freestyle Fellowship record that day from the record store at the venue he was playin. His work is heavily inspired by Myka 9 & he actually references a couple Freestyle Fellowship songs in his music. At the end of 'Doldrums' he references the Freestyle Fellowship song by saying "Can You Find.... the level of difficulty in this?" & that song also samples that same Freestyle Fellowship song with the repeated "Aw Yeah". And then at the end of his song 'Sansoucci Palace' on his album 'Toothpaste Suburb' he spits the "We Will Not Tolerate" verse which myka wrote in 1991
