@@haoleboysurfec2730 Think you'll find it is autobiographical. From a track on Who's Next. ripped from the Lifehouse project and titled Mobile - it's about freedom of life on the road... written in the first person.

@@LondonDada not sure, Lifehouse wasn't autobiographical. "Behind Blue Eyes" is in first person but per PT it is from the perspective of a soldier. I used to think most of Who's Next was autobiographical, but Townshend has claimed it was not. Not like Who By Numbers, Who Are You and his solo album Empty Glass, which are heavily introspective.

Pete is a sincere and caring human being. No doubt about it. However, people like that can be easily led, even by their own intellect. When the authorities arrived on Jan. 13, 2003 to take Townshend into custody under the Protection of Children Act, he insisted that there was a logical reason for his actions: He'd been surfing the darker corners of the internet as part of research for the autobiography, in which Townshend intended to discuss his own suspected abuse as a child. Enraged by what he found, Townshend said he decided he'd expose this criminal underworld. "I am not a pedophile," Townshend said the day of his arrest. "I'd be prepared to have my computer hard drive analyzed. It's important police are able to convince themselves that, if I did anything illegal, I did it purely for research." Seems very suspicious to me. Yes the banks were involved in financial interactions but it wasn't deliberate on their part because their job isn't to police the net. If it was me, I'd have reported the site to the police and let them get on with it. However, Townsend claims he didn't browse the site and the police didn't find images so he deserves the benefit of the doubt here IMO.
