What a classic country music performance! Dwight's voicing is like a spoonful of honey. The interweaving of his guitar picking with Jerry Peter's country piano fills is perfection. Whoopi watches so intently and with such enjoyment. I appreciate how good this is because it's unlikely I'll see a better performance.

His knowledge of Music and Heritage of The Blues and Country is Phenomenal!! His Singing is Incredible! The Gentlemen playing the Piano is Extraordinary! Whoopi was Absolutely Great 👍 She drove this Vessel and it is a Treasure !!! ...The total Package 📦😍 I was Soo Impressed by Dwight's, Vigilance in gathering information and knowledge of His Craft , ..... just saying .. The way they made Whoopie Smile uncontrollable is evidence this was Extraordinary, and So Captivating!!! Later!

Thank you for sharing this video , amazing , Dwight is amazing , he didn't sell his soul to Nashville to be pop country in the early 80's like they wanted him to , instead he went to L.A. He played with punk bands . He's so open minded , he's so cool , stuck to his style then when his time came there he was on the top of his game , Dwight is legend , absolutely legend ... To me he's the Elvis of country music ! Bless you Dwight , I went to the Saint Vinnies and got all these 80's 90's Wrangler , Levi's and R.M. Williams pants with Elastane I could get hold of , Dwight is actor , musician and fashion guru legend with his classic cowboy Levis denim jacket and tight pants , his light sand fur hat and his light tan boots , simplicity spiced with classic , Dwight is the man , never follow trends that's why he's legend to me !

Dwight is one of the most intelligent guys out there. I read an interview in a magazine he gave back in the 80s when he was up and coming. The man is DEEP. We can tell he is very well read and self educated. I had a chance to see him, before I even knew a thing about him in 86, and opted to go see a 60s blues band, instead. WORST musical regret I have ever had. Been kicking myself since. He was booked with Steve Earle as a newcomer too.

I remember being a security guard as a young man, 2am falling asleep at the desk but I had a tiny TV and Dwight comes on Singing HEART THAT YOU OWN.This was the show. For decades I thought it was the Oprah winfrey show. But i was blown away, I hadn't heard any of his previous albums and I guess he was on promoting THIS TIME, but he was singing this song off his previous album. I got off shift and went home babbling about this "new" artist I found that was amazing. Anyway, long story but it's how I found Dwight, that night. It's a shame he did not have more longetivity in his career as far as platinum albums, but he was on fire for about 5 years. Nobody could label him. He sounded like Roy Orbison at times like FAST AS YOU, and back to pop, then country, I guess Roy had a similar career come to think of it. It makes me laugh when I hear young people say Dwight is "old country". Not he isn't and never was. Old country was Hank Snow, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Tom T Jones, Dolly Parton... Dwight could "do" old country, he could do many genres obviously, but Dwight's original work was considered Alt country even then, and it has evolved to this day into a Rock fusion hybrid.

It was such a great song and I was hooked. I drove to the store, found a TV Guide, saw the movie and drove to the record store to find the soundtrack to Red Rock West. The song was A Thousand Miles From Nowhere.
