Obviously they are totally guilty, but they are also totally mentally disturbed, morgan was diagnozed with schizofrenia and other mental problems she had never got treatment for, which mixed with the natural immaturity a 12 year old has... Think of everything that had to go right for her to survive. 1) The knife misses the main artery in her heart by a hair. 2) She somehow finds the strength to walk where someone can find her. 3) Bike rider for some reason goes down a different path than usual and finds her. If anyone of these things would have gone differently she would not be here today. She definitely has an angel looking out for her.

Right. Her flat affect & total absence of a conscience, is really REALLY unnerving. Especially, considering she’s fuckin TWELVE!! She doesn’t have enough life experience to have pent up bitterness, resentment or the kind of visceral hatred/anger you’d typically find, when speaking to someone whose killed someone. She hasn’t lived long enough to be so jaded & nonchalant about MURDER. She’s frightening & I don’t scare easy. But she’s SO damn young. If she would’ve gotten away with this, oh man. This girl would later on be found, living like Jeff Dahmer. 50 gallon barrels with acid & liquified human remains, skulls in her fridge, severed deltoid muscles in her freezer, a corpse in the bath tub with 2-3 days of rot, & the “freshest” corpse in her damn bed.

No Anissa is the real manipulator. She was the one who planned it. She knew about Morgan's mental issues, even telling the investigators about Morgan hearing voices, probably thinking if the investigators believe Morgan is the crazy one who is responsible for this crime, she would get away with it and just be a witness. And it was Anissa who kept sending Morgan all those CreepyPasta stories, manipulating her into believing them. For some reason, the media loves to portray Morgan as the more evil one, but after watching the entire interrogation of these girls, it's pretty obvious to me that Anissa was the mastermind behind this attempted murder, and Morgan was just a tool for her. And the really sad part is, Morgan had shown signs of schizophrenia long before this incident and if she had gotten the necessary treatment, all of this could've been avoided.

Morgan suffers from early age schizophrenia and its unbelievable sad that it developed before it was possible to diagnose. It was one of many schizophrenic episode of that Illness, they couldnt differ from reality and lacked emotions, which was/is being treated. They arent "Evil", they were suffering from severe mental Illness and people need to differ from episodic-schizophrenic-Morgan and the real! Morgan. Its horrible and unbelievable sad what happened but people need to learn about that Illness and look at those suffering from it with sympathy. Especially if a girl of 12 suffers from it ... Payton is a hero and so is the Man that saved her life and the doctors, but all of them are victims including Morgan and Anissa... its unimaginable what trauma the Illness can cause if the worst possible circumstances add up on each other.

It's unbelievable how involved with her own image she is in relation to her actions. She sounds proud in these tapes, like this all makes her different or special. And then she tried to transfer blame onto Anissa with statements like "Anissa knew him" with the connotation being that she doesn't... Imagine how low her self-esteem would be to want that attention, how out of touch she is with other people to romanticize her attempt to kill someone.

I know its a deep case and it be disturbing for all those involved but this whole case deserves a movie or tv series! Its such an incredible story of strength and character, while also tackling the story of how truly wicked the world and the internet can be, especially to the youth who often believe it. It would be very emotional and dark but I would watch a full movie of this case. The way the girl explains her own stabbing is chilling, but I feel like witnessing it and seeing her power through the pain would be just an overwhelming and amazing message to never give up, and that your strong enough, you just got to have the will to live. This is probably the most disturbing case I've ever heard about, and I've heard a lot. It stuns me that this hasn't made its way into a movie.

The girls, especially Morgan’s so casual attitude about what they did is absolutely terrifying. Anissas is creepy casual as well but Morgan, IMO, is so much creepier.

MarleyCarl I think Anissa didn’t believe in him, but Morgan did. So either Anissa used it as her chance to kill Payton, or Morgan was so convinced by the story that she wanted to kill Payton as a “sacrifice”, and dragged Anissa in, since she was the one who introduced slenderman to her.
@x4iaw931

She didn;t believe it, and she is intelligent. You heard how she spoke when she was asked about Slenderman - she described him as a story, and that there were stories on a website; both ways someone who clearly knows it's fictional would speak. THEN, when it was in her defense, she switched to acting (extremely badly, might I add) like she was scared, and believed there might be consequences if she didn't follow what she'd read. I would also like to point out that at the time, there were NO ONLINE STORIES about Slenderman that match what she's saying.

I’ve watched another documentary on this event a year ago or so, and if i remember correctly she, to this day, has difficulties accepting that slenderman is not real, like the psychologists are still working on that.
