Highly recommend seeing this film in theaters and supporting its box office-I saw it 3 times in theatres and sobbed every time. As someone who was born very prematurely and needed additional support growing up, and having my parents there to advocate for me, Brightbill being born small and Roz and the other animals providing extra support because he needs to learn differently (with the runway, a flight instructor, etc) broke me. A really lovely allegory for disabilities (wheelchair users, autism, cerebral palsy, etc), and that your limitations are your strength (“Fly like you, not like them!”). Also, Pedro Pascal caring for an orphaned baby is my new favorite genre (Fink, Joel in THE LAST OF US, The Mandalorian, etc). 💙

I have seen this movie on the very release day and it was worth it since I saw in 3D. Also, HOLY CRAP, Pascal really did play the surrogate father role in those stories. Nice attention to detail.

Just because coastal cities are sunken does not mean the future is *dystopian.* If anything, this movie may be one of the most optimistic visions of the future I've seen in a while. Sure, our coasts are flooded, but humanity lives in advanced, self sufficient cities and the ecosystem is alive and well. All in all, a realistic but positive outlook on the future.
@kamisensei1616Ай бұрын

@@kamisensei1616 The corporation that produces the robots and manages the cities. Isn't that obvious? Who did *you* think created and programmed the robots?
@ghost_duskАй бұрын
The movie's background is post climate change, and they made a huge effort to paint humanity as obviously in the wrong and the cities in such an artificial, almost "disturbingly clean" way in contrast to the richness of colors and lights of the nature in the movie. That's pretty much dystopian, or at the very least post dystopian, bc the movie obviously doesn't focus on it, it's not imoortant past a background setting, but you have to wonder how it even got that bad for the sea levels to increase so dramatically, and why people need shields from the outside world in the first place. Now maybe this isn't dystopian in your classical sense where humanity is suffering, but in the sense that they are the perpetrators. Artificial cities where nature is pretty much displaced isn't a positive outlook on the future.
@kamisensei1616Ай бұрын
@@silverswordsmith5424 that’s my point. The humans. The film is about motherhood and the protection of wild and its indigenous inhabitants. This film is 100% not pointing corporations and the future in a good light. In fact its holding up a mirror to the reality that we are living and what awaits us with climate change.
@silverswordsmith5424Ай бұрын
I guess I interpreted it differently because from where I'm sitting I see people fear-mongering about how climate change is going to kill the planet and destroy us all and contrarily the ecosystem of The Wild Robot appears to have not only survived climate change, but is all around thriving after the fact thanks to humanity withdrawing to centralized hubs that impact the environment less severely, going for an insular upwards building technique as opposed to outwards expansion. In essence, climate change doesn't kill the world, it just forces human civilization to adapt. Our planet, and our civilization, is much more resilient than we give it credit. Of course, that's the nice thing about art. Everyone can have a different interpretation, and all interpretations are valid.

I saw this film with my friends last friday and the way I SOBBED. I started crying the moment Roz puts her hand on the tree with the butterflies. It talks a lot about how cruel the world is (the animal kingdom is and it is never portrayed as such in animated films, I'm glad this one did but also showed how animals also put aside their differences when they are all in danger), it talks about loss, found family, and being more than you were made to be. I haven't cried this fcking much during a film in a long time, I think the last time I cried this hard was during Klaus and HTTYD. Movies with a lot of heart, man. I cried this time around watching the reaction too.

I feel like The Wild Robot is an emotional movie with very dark humor that can teach us of what parenting is like for adults especially for our parents. The only question is what are the animals gonna eat since they all made peace with each other? I also believe that The Wild Robot and Inside Out 2 might be the best animated movies of 2024 this year with The Wild Robot in 1st and Inside Out 2 in 2nd. I’m still hoping Moana 2 can be one of these guys as well. 🤞

This animation style is really beautiful Im glad it is coming back these styles, 2d and 2d mixed with 3d, or 3d models with 2d painted instead of the times where for some years every animated movie coming out had the boring frozen/tangeled animation style Anyway, the reason this movie was emotional to me is because I wish I had a mother figure like roz, a caring sweet mother that took care of me. We all wish that And seeing a mother figure like that in roz is what made me a little emotional
