How do you attach it to the tree? I can only see one screw at the top, surely it will need more to make it secure?

Tracy Moreton, normally one good long screw is enough to sort most things out , even squirrel feeders 😉.

I made a few of these feeders, put in nuts and good stuff. How long does it usually take for the squirrels to figure this out? I've put a couple of nuts in between the roof and the wall to "show" the squirrels the way. Is there a better way, please?

Have the same problem. The feeder has been out for more than two weeks but Nutkins the squirrel avoids it like the plague ! Did the same as you....put nuts on top and on the platform to get him to try it....no way 😕

@@apollonia6656 I have moved to the countryside in the meanwhile. Put up two feeders, nothing for a couple of months. But now... squirrels are all over the place. The countryside squirrels are quick :-) I am SO happy

Weird, Butlins tried it the correct way but Scraggy Tail gnawed through the window ! Can't win them all. Good luck in the countryside. Regards.

My squirrels do not know how to open the flap so they gnawed through the plastic and the nuts drop to the ground !

You can teach the squirrels initially, by taping the lid up so that they learn what it's capable of. We had a lot of success with this for our new squirrel feeder.

Great idea which I put into practice the week after giving them a chance to try it themselves. However, I feed birds too and a magpie thought it was his box and ended up coming to it for a week ! Now it is still a puzzle for Scraggy Tail the little boy but Nutkins (should be Nutkina) the pregnant squirrel now opens the lid....Scraggly sits on it 😂😂😂Thank you.
