In the game Marin tells Link that she would be a seagull and fly as far away as possible to see distant lands, so yes I think that’s her. (Oh and she says she made a wish to the wind fish but we never get to know what she said but it can be assumed she asked to be a seagull)

I literally played this side-by-side with you. I knew how this was going to end, I'd seen a video on the original game years ago, and remembered the ending, but I still had an emotional experience watching everything and everyone I'd interacted with disappear. This is one of the best experiences I've had in a walkthrough, I hope you do more content like this in the future. I didn't even realize that was Marin flying away in the end, until I checked the comments, but the cutscene pretty much spells out her wish to the Wind Fish... it was utterly beautiful.

This game happens right after Link to the Past in the timeline. This is the Link that appeared in that game. The fact that Agahnim appears (the one you have to deflect magic from) and Ganon appearing (the same form and similar fight to LTTP) is meant to mirror Link's nightmares.

Oh my God.... I just now finished the game for the 1st time ever. I never played the Game Boy version before so this was my 1st walk through. One detail about this game and the original, is the fact that Wart appears in this game is more than just a reference. Since both this and SMB2 are games that involve the main character being asleep the entire time. It's great foreshadowing ngl. One thing that i discovered was that you have to go to the library in Mabe village to find out the passage through the egg. If you just take a screenshot here you won't know how to make your way through the maze.

I did play and 100% both original and DX versions of Link's Awakening back when they both first were released. But when Link's Awakening remake was announced i was excited but when it launched i bought collectors edition but only played it for few and put it down just didn't feel like playing it at the time fast forward to 2023 i was getting an urge to play a Zelda title and started playing Link's Awakening remake saw your walkthrough and followed it to 100% completion thank you.

It's not just in OoT. You actually do the tennis thing in A Link to the Past which was the game before this one. In fact for the ones who never played ALttP, the shadow shapes here are taken from that game..it's not just the Wind fish nightmare, but rather Link's nightmares manifested in a dream world.

Back on Gameboy I had Zelda Links Awaking. I have no ideal how I beat it. I had a hard time all these years later playing it on the Switch. Thanks to you man it helped me big time. Although I'm missing one seashell and no idea which one it is.

the gannon phase of the nightmare is easily cheesed. Even with the red tunic just charging at him will kill him in about 3 or 4 hits, he couldn't even take like 4 of my hearts. Also, good walkthrough, I found myself watching the episodes after I made the progress myself to see if I missed anything. Also I've found that this version of the game is just easy enough to forget the blue tunic. The red one is really nice for melting bosses and at 20 hearts and secret medicine is way more than most people should ever need, unless they're stumped by the boss.

"It looks like it emerges from you" It does, actually. Back when this game was first made, before the Oracle games were even in development, Link's Awakening was considered a sequel to Link To The Past. When you show up on Koholint, all the monsters show up too. These are Link's nightmares from LTTP. Also, the final boss is named Dethl. Speaking of final boss, do the pegasus boots not work against Nightmare Ganon anymore?

they do work. the pegasus boots was the only thing that made damage on him, even after trying everything to my knowledge at that time.

Honestly, I had never played Link's Awakening before the re-release on the Switch and I was HELLA confused why the video for the final battle was nearly 20 minutes long (I went into the egg and tried to finish it myself. THAT did not work out for me.) ...Then I went into the egg and found out this damn thing had MULTIPLE levels and phases! I was so frustrated with the Ganon-look-alike I'm surprised I even lived through that fight.

The second part of the Nightmare boss inside the Wind Fish's egg was referenced from Ocarina of Time. While the procedure of beating this part of the boss is like Ocarina of Time: The second part of the boss is actually a shadow of Agahnim from A Link to The Past. As well as the shadow of Ganon also from A Link to The Past.

I'm curious though; I saw something from another channel about a secret Shadow Link boss (didn't watch it because I like your videos so I was waiting for you to get there). Is that something I overlooked as I watched your playthrough? If so, which episode so I can go back and rewatch it? If not, are you going to do a 100% playthrough epilogue video to show that? I hope so. I loved the videos, and for a 100% series, I really hoped to see 100% of the game.

You can only fight it in Dampe’s challenges and with the amiibo. There’s no special rewards for defeating it.

I believe it is Marin because in that bonding moment between Link and Marin, she stated if she were a seagull she would fly as far as she can. Isn’t it ironic that Marin wanted to be a seagull and then a she appears in the sky and fades away while a seagull flies. Coincidence? I think not.

the wind fish boss has a lot of traits of link to the past from the Wizard the lvl where you get the last pendant to how he looks like shadow ganon and fights like the one in link to a past

In the original any of the preset combinations worked for all playthroughs. The book just gave you a specific one.

The Agahnim and Pig Gannon part of the nightmare fight is from LTTP not OOT, the quad ball shot was a shot that didn't get deflected back to Agahnim when you played tennis with him in LTTP and the Pig Gannon with the fire keese were the final battle in LTTP.

The pig gannon phase in the original you used the Pegasus boots to run into him but not the remake. Also with the snake phase you can use the fire/magic rod to make it an easy fight. I feel like the change for the final phase not being 1 shot with the boomerang is a little cheep but would have liked to have seen it still in the game.

I got everything (and the secret ending) plus all the chamber stones, even all the amiibo ones. Yup, all 193, plus all the extra dampe challenges for 300 rupees each. So I did absolutely everything except do it all over again in hero mode. I think full 100% should count the chamber stones. Probably not the extra dampe challenges (that was just for my own personal 100%) but at least all 14 extra chamber stones and perhaps the amiibo ones too (6 of them). It adds a nice bit of extra stuff to do
