Thanks to all whom made this possible! Very comforting in a time of stress for a little Mole living with an unhappy Toad. (The car collection is growing fast).

Phenomenal reading...absolutely first class. I love how the reader is able to artfully breathe life, humor, verve and personality into each and every character, transcending mere "words and expressions" by seamlessly transporting the listener to an imaginary world, that nonetheless, feels so palpably real.

Had to read Wind in the Willows as part of a children's literature course through Athabasca University; one of the best books I've read--favoured even over Lord of the Rings, which I also read, without any of the delight. Much easier just listening this time.

This is my favourite children's book...
@daphniastley86412 жыл бұрын
I took a paperback copy of this book to read on my first babysit. Afterwards the children's father ran me home in his car. "What are you reading?" He asked "The Wind in the Willows" i replied. "That book is my bible" he said! What amazed me was that he was a farmer - a veal farmer. This puzzled me. And as I wondered I remembered the person who had quoted parts of this book to me was my Grandfather - and he was a Gamekeeper! We humans are Very Complicated! I truly do not understand us! So I simply relax with this story again and again! Maybe if everyone read The Wind in the Willows we could achieve world oeace ✌

(Just wanted to share this thought) Randomly, I was reminded of this book, and how much I’d enjoyed it as a child, and thought, I wonder if... Maybe 5seconds later, I had a list of the audio books for WW. And they were *free*!! It’s just amazing how many resources, and how much information, we can get, on YT alone. In this case, it’s because a wonderful person used their time and energy to upload it. I’m also very thankful that even though I’m just on a disability pension, I can afford unlimited wifi at home. Sooo, yeah, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter. Yes, YT often makes us crazy cross, but on the flip side we have great channels such as this! Thanks again for the upload, I’ve liked and subbed, and am looking forward to more.

@eduardo_corrochio3 жыл бұрын
We ought to keep in mind that this sort of literature deserves so much better than being altered just so that it goes by faster, and ideally it should not be sped up or altered; the pace here is perfect as it is ... and the story lends itself to something of a languid and easy pace. Plus, you'd screw up the voice of the narrator, whose voice here is really good. Don't you deserve the best version of a classic tale, instead of a rushed experience? If you're so short on time, then listen in half hour increments each day or night, and just keep track of where you left off last time. You'll be surprised how fast the seven hours pass that way.

Who are you? Apparently all men are one of four types; the stay-at-home Rat, the timid Mole, the curmudgeonly Badger or the reckless Toad, I myself am between being a Toad/Rat type of boy.
