Hey Ben, I'm a JYM Scaffolder for so many years, but I'd like to change and I kind like the window cleaning, so I'd like to do for myself. Your videos have been really helpful, thank you 🙏 I'd like to know as a pole, how big do you suggest to get for trad cleaning, before you get into the ladder? I'm practicing at home with an 8' from Home Depot, but my house, for instance, if I want to do the top windows, I need at least a 18', I did measure, I'm in Canada, so we do have basements. So, I don't think it's safe to do, in a sense of the results, but hey, I'm not in the business yet. And therefore my question, which size (biggest) would you suggest to get for a trad pole?

Sounds like your experience could definitely help you out with the commercial side of things, if you go that direction! The aluminum ones flex too much one fully extended, especially past 12 feet, and will definitely frustrate you. I’d recommend a 20 foot carbon fiber pole. That should reach almost anything up to 2 stories. The nice thing if you invest in a solid pole made by a brand like XERO, is that it can be used as a water fed pole in the future as well. I use the Xero M9 water fed pole (28ft) inside, just by swapping out the tip. windowcleaner.com/products/xero-m9-water-fed-pole?sca_ref=4122445.Dz6DIiYfKo The next size down would be the 20 foot (which should be plenty of length) trad pole: windowcleaner.com/products/xero-carbon-fiber-pole-trad-pole-2-0?sca_ref=4122445.Dz6DIiYfKo

You know what you are talking about. Very useful info for us all. I wish I knew this stuff in 1982 when I started cleaning windows. I appreciate you

Thanks for the kind words, it’s encouraging to say the least! We all had to start somewhere, and I believe the more transparent we can be, the better off the trade and the industry will become. As they say, "A rising tide lifts all boats". I appreciate your feedback!
