I have no idea how I never listened to Radio Westeros before now, but I've been thoroughly enjoying all of it. And the best part is there's so much to listen to! Truly great stuff.

I was super hyped up for TWOW but this episode really helped me get hyped for this plot line. So many things coming together that I don't think I really have had time to reflect on because the King's Landing AFFC plot can be a bit confusing with how many new characters are in it, especially for us show first fans (Merryweather, Rosby, Aurane, etc.). Thank you for this!

Aha! I think you've nailed it on Taena being an agent of Varys -- and the text-based reasoning about the coin seals the deal. I've always figured she was *somebody's* agent. At first I thought it was the Tyrells and that the arrest of Margaery was all part of some super-elaborate plan, maybe even with the High Sparrow complicit, but that just seemed to be too contrived. But Taena working with Varys is totally logical. That's gotta be it. But I still think Olena Tyrell (like her Essosi counterpart the Green Grace) has been nearly as busy as Varys & Littlefinger and that a lot more is coming about her schemes. By the way, do we think that Connington & Co. will consolidate the West by taking Dragonstone or just head straight into BFish's Agincourt scenario? If the former, it might be where we learn about the accuracy of the reporting about Loras, but looking at a map, Dragonstone is pretty far north of Storms End. Also, this is the best explanation I've heard of the confusing relationships of Varys, Qyburn and the Little Birds. Finally, the Rosby/Olyvar stuff is emblematic of why Radio Westeros are--bar none--the ne plus ultra of the fandom.

"Terry, Tanner, Steve... That Shiny Bastard" I just spat laughing. Amazing read. Thank you for all the great analysis once again I'm really enjoying revisiting old videos and these new ones have me very excited. Cersei is one of the best characters to read, her chapters in a Feast for Crows are delicious. I think Taena Merriweather is going to pop up in the fAegon camp as you suggest. I also have heard a theory somewhere that Cersei will flee for the rock, possibly after being exposed as a liar with regards to Robert Strong. The next phase of that theory is that she may return riding the coattails of Aeron Crow's Eye which would be interesting given the show paring them up!

Love the video.❤️ I think qyburn is the only person that actually is useful for cersie. He may not be a politician but he is very smart at doing jobs Cersei wants him to do while doing scientific/magical research. We should give him some credit 😁.

Okay: so from a writer's pov, as you point out, it doesn't work for Jaime and/or Cersei to die when so much effort has been put into their unfinished arcs. I would argue that the same is true of the Tyrells, the Sparrow and all their plotting. High on my list of hated show choices was sweeping away all of those mysteries and arcs with one big premature fire. I do think Cersei will attempt to a mass murder by wildfire, but much much later after the other plots are satisfyingly revealed and fleshed out. It's exactly the same as burning Shireen - I think Stannis will burn her only after the Boltons are long vanquished and in order to fight the white walkers. But in the case of King's Landing, I'm much less convinced that what they show did is even a misreading of George's plan - I think they just made it all up to grease the skids for them to burn through to their pathetically unsatisfying ending. I'm almost certain we're going to have a lot more of Loras, Margaery, Taena, High Sparrow, Aurayne Waters, Lancel et al. Also, when Cersei does whatever burning she does, or more likely attempts to do, I'm almost positive Jaime will be on hand to stop her. I guess you could argue that she could go on two separate burning sprees, the first without Jaime there, but ... for me, the show was so horrifically bad that even if GRRM was going in that direction, the show's miserable failure scared him away from it and that's part of why he's taking so long to release TWoW.

What I found interesting, is that Randall Tarly has a very similar attitude towards the faith as Cerci, and he is the one with significant forces in King's Landing. Especially if he finds himself in the opposition to Tyrells

Tyrion thought that Varys had something to do with Tyrek disappearance too, Varys did not go to the waterfront that day. The question is why and where was he, Varys absence is curios.

@1:15:00 - Oh my God - Instead of going rogue, is it possible that Mercy was part of the Iron Bank's machinations against the opponents of their new candidate Stannis?? I guess it's too much of a coincidence that it was Raff to whom she gave the gift, and besides, killing him wouldn't really advance Stannis's cause, unless it was part of some broader choreography. But even if Raff's murder has nothing to do with Braavos/KL intrigue, Harys Swyft himself may still be in big trouble. Still, offing Raff may have been just a bit of improvisation and Mercy might still have officially sanctioned tasks to perform. I mean ... she almost certainly has *some* tasks to perform, unless the mummers' gig is strictly for training purposes.

In the show, didn't Tommen somehow outlaw trial by combat? I know we are talking explicitly about the text (cannon), but is there no chance that something similar would happen?

Mother of dragons, Daenerys thought. Mother of monsters. What have I unleashed upon the world? A queen I am, but my throne is made of burned bones, and it rests on quicksand. Without dragons, how could she hope to hold Meereen, much less win back Westeros? I am the blood of the dragon, she thought. If they are monsters, so am I.

Well, I could see Robert Strong winning the trial by combat. Margery Tyrell would be found guilty, probably not killed but imprisoned by the Faith, the Tyrells will try to save her, and go to side with fAegon to stop the High Sparrow. Once the Tyrells side with him, fAegon and the Golden Company will be obliged to defend the Reach and Oldtown against Euron. I think Taena Merryweather and her son might get killed by one of the Sandsnakes instead of Cersei and Tommen, but Nymeria might try to take her place to toy with Cersei and watch her suffer. I expect at least one Myrcella will be killed. There is still a possibility for confusion: I don't know if it is Myrcella and Trystane (That might turn victims of piracy on their travel north by ship) or her double (that I think travels with Hotah and Obara while the original is with Trystane). I could see Obara and Darkstar sending the dead girl's head to King's Landing. Tyene will get on the shedule to care for Tommen and poison him / the Merryweather-boy / Ser Pounce. Noble fAegon will be buisy helping his new Tyrell-alleys defending in the Reach, while Euron sails to seize the Iron Throne, as a 'welcome gift' for Daenerys just as Tyrion told fAegon to do. Euron might think troubled Cersei is easy to toy with (he proved his 'gallant' way with the bastard-girl from the shields, and I can see he will plan the same with Cersei), but if Euron on his way around Sunspear burned that, the Sandsnakes might talk Cersei into forging a trap for Euron, offering herself to him. (I expect the second Red Wedding will have happened at the Twins and Jaime will be reported dead.) Their trap won't work, since Euron is a sorcerer and larger than life. Since he only needs a wife for sacrificing her - he might even agree in a marriage, Cersei could bide her time, offering other women instead of herself, he might find her amusing enough to allow her to continue along beside him, while Daenerys is stil buisy conquering the East. Cersei being paranoid about the Sandsnakes, might send them to the show end. I don't know how it is in Westeros, but normally parents inherit after their dead children, if Tommen dies without other heirs, and Stannis and his daughter are - rumored? - to have been killed in the North - his mother would be his heir, Euron could argue that being her new husband makes him King. Varys with his fear of Mages might run off to fetch fAegon from battling the Ironborn in the Reach/Dorne with a warning once he finds out how Euron does blood-magic.- If the news from the North come that Stannis is alive and well and took Winterfell, Euron might go north and help the Wall to break, to root the Northerners out. I expect Cersei will burn King's Landing, probably trying blood-magic with - an abduced Sansa? or/and Margery, (that might still be imprisoned by the Faith perhaps with the Silent Sisters?) when fAegon and Arianne and Greyscale try to take the city in Euron's absence, and probably the triple of Brienne, Jaime, Sandor will stop her, but I can't see that far into the future, I have no clue how Victaron, Tyrion and Daenerys will work out once they arrive in Westeros, GRRM surprised me too often.
