You can’t get a better combination in net than to have Connor Hellebuyck and Laurent Brossoit. We’ll be seeing Brossoit play more games in the New Year but what he’s done thus far is impressive. The Jets have really done an amazing job in developing Cole Perfetti with AHL Manitoba Moose and it’s now paying off. The fact that the team is sharing in the goals department is a testament in the depth of every line very much like in 2017 - 2018. Jets need to work on their power play since they have the penalty kill down big time. It should be interesting to see how Jets do in LA on Wednesday, it would be great to get 4 wins on this road trip.

Can you go back to your old style of videos? I understand that life gets busy, hectic, but.. You had a unique perspective to your channel now it's kind of just mediocre. The Jets were in a really similar position this time last season nit really a surprise that they're in the same one this year. I'm more surprised that the schedule they've faced this year has been tougher so far and theyre doing it. Seems like the whole team is playing harder. Smarter defensively, theyre not being outshot every game which was always a huge problem for them. Id argue that Hellebuyck is getting more help than I've ever seen. Could see this being the best season since the 2018 season

Shortly after the 6:10 mark is the start of a discussion about the state of the Leafs‘ blue line. I respect the Habs for their wins of Stanley cups, whether before or following the 1966-67 NHL season. That said, because the Habs have won more post-1967 Cups than any non-Habs’ Canadian team, I look forward to seeing a non-Habs‘ Canadian team win a Stanley Cup before the Habs next win one of theirs. Goaltending for various Canadian NHL teams has been an issue for quite some time. Odd Man Rush brings up Hellebuyck starting a bit before the 4:40 mark, and that’s interesting, because not following the 2017-18 season have the Jets made it to a conference final. The Leafs have found goalies, but not very many good ones during the cap era. Yet even with such issues, they have, following the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, seen playoff action each season. The Canucks the last 3 seasons have used Thatcher Demko as their main goalie but not many good backups. Jaro Halak was inconsistent whilst Spencer Martin and Collin Delia ended up being sieves. Not in 1 million years dId I think the Canucks would see playoff action although IMO changes GM Allvin has made to the roster have helped quite a lot. In a trade with the Habs, the Canucks acquired goalie Casey DeSmith in exchange for having sent Tanner Pearson the other way. That’s after three straight seasons of no playoff games the Canucks have played.
