The one, the only.... Never will there be another like Groucho. He brought much laughter and joy into my heart and life. He will always be my absolute favorite comic of all time. Wish he was still here with us.... I bet he does too!

One i read in a book of quotes..On hearing a woman say that she had 22 children and saying that it was because she loved her husband, Groucho replied "I love my cigar...but i take it out once in a while!" LMAO.

The joke on the "dead or watch stopped" was in I think when he was making fun of doctors in one movie ( when they take the pulse with a watch). No matter what he says and whether you understand it at first I bet you laughed the when he says it.

I was told the comment: "Who're ya gonna believe, me or your own eyes?" Was by Red Skelton, when his wife said she saw him fondling one of the dancers on his show. She said "I saw you with my own eyes!" and he replied....

I love, simply LOVE Groucho, but many of these lines attributed to him were written for him by Screenwriters or people like SJ Perelman. But you go, Marxophiles!!!

Many of his best lines were written by S.J. Perelman---which, as you say, doesn't at all detract from Groucho's genius. My all-time favourite (hard to choose from among so many) is "Let us lodge with my fleas in the hills - - - I mean flee to my lodge in the hills!"

What you don't see is being funny is not about the writers it's timing and a lot of banter that triggers a response being a scouser I know we laugh at ourselves but funny is universal and that is what makes groucho so special a legend if there ever was one xxxxxxxxx
