That look. In the final moments of the main story, Geralt is sitting with an old friend, a drink in hand. "We deserve a bit of a rest." And then Geralt says "That we do." As he does, he looks right at you, the player, gives a sly smile and nods. What a way to end a main story. That is some incredible directing and design. I hope they do end Geralt's story here. The only Witcher games I'd want to see are remakes of 1 and 2, especially 1, so that more people can experience the series in its entirety. Well done Projekt Red, well done.

Was anyone else hoping Geralt was gonna throw like a super cool party and invite everyone throughout the series (that could feasibly make the journey of course) so you could say one final goodbye to everyone, rather than just Yennefer or Triss or Ciri (or Dandelion lol). Like zoltan, Yarpen, Saskia, Iorveth, everyone from the gathering allies quest, all those cool people. Let us have one final conversation with them. Also let us be able to invite ciri regardless of which ending we got.

I felt so happy about this ending. Yen and Geralt talk so intimate about their dreams and their relationship. Meanwhile Triss ending she is 80% talking about politics. Yen > Triss. Geralt and Yen love eachother so much. In the books Yen died for him. So many people hate Yen and complain about their relationship but they dont know a shit about her feelings or the relationship to Geralt. In fact Sapkowski choosed Yen to the love of his life and not Triss.
@MrWhitey9988 жыл бұрын
My extremely long and complicated, rich with spoilers explanation as to why Geralt and yen is > geralt and triss. Don't read this if you haven't read the books however. Geralt chose Yen as his "last wish" instead of power, money, immortality, fame, prosperity. You name it, Yen had completely bum fucked Geralt completely over when they first met, causing geralt to ridicule himself, his friends and land them all in prison. Geralt could of easily had his revenge by 1. not helping yennefer with the djinn or 2. asking for wealth and power. But geralt couldn't do that, he went through a fading portal, Yennefer funnily enough started flinging insults left right and centre at him and he still decided to save her by basically telling the djinn that i want to be yen with forever, binding us. Yen was fucking astonished aswell, if she was a man i can guarantee her balls would of fallen to the floor, she was like WTF why you choose to save me after everything i done to you. Then he says "You dont know" and he calls her Yen and she turns into the horniest woman of all fucking time when he calls her Yen and well you can guess what happened in the room ;) Then Geralt even when he believed he had been betrayed, sold under by yennefer to vilgefortz, betraying both him and ciri. Still called Fringilla, Yennefer when they had sex. Fringilla tries to buy some information out of geralt by revealing yennfer never betrayed him or ciri but he knows this already from overhearing some of vilgefortz henchmen, clenching his fists in almost uncontrollable anger that yen had been tortured and locked up. Sets of to the castle, saves yen, saves ciri. Then obviously it looks like a happy ending but emhyr basically says nobody can know im duny so you need to be executed, but due to my respect you can do it with your love in a warm bath whenever it feels it should be done, a sort of cherry in a box of shit. Before Yen agrees to it, which she obviously would do because... she loves geralt lol, she effectively forces emphr to promise that "my daughter" will never cry while she is with you, emphr agrees and walk out, Yen and geralt have what they believe to be their last ever sexual encounter, becoming vividly explained by sapkowski... aka... Yenn is wanking geralt off in the water, geralt is caressing yen's tits and then she bluntly says "sit on the edge, im not, damn it, diving" without going into further details you can basically bare witness to the fact that she basically says blowjob time... lool. You probably thinking why the fuck is making such a long answer, ill explain at the end, im bored so typing is fun is one reason however, anyway back to story time. Once the... high volume of bodily fluids has been exchanged between them :)) they say i love you one last time and then it is time to slash their wrists, they call the guards, once, twice and then they hear Ciri say "get out the bath then". Yen and Geralt have a fucking stroke in suprise and it is revealed that when Ciri was walking away from Geralt and Yen's shed she realises that she is never going to see them again just after saying like 30 mins earlier that we will be together forever. She starts uncontrollably shaking and crying, suprising the guards who had just seen her kill some of the owl's men. Emphr walks up to her, hugs her tightly to his chest, rocking back and forth as Ciri continues to cry uncontrollably and - I cannot remember the exact words - he basically says "Destiny, is suprising" or something i really cannot remember. Basically he realises that he just broke his promise he made to yennefer 10 minutes earlier about Ciri never feeling sad and crying. So he says, true to his word, to leave her be, all guards leave etc etc and thus Ciri returns to Geralt and Yenn, seeing them naked in a bath tube as she peaks through the spy hole. Therefor TWICE has Yennefer been saved by Geralt and the 3rd time both of them by Ciri. Then obviously you have the issue of Geralts death and Yen's death trying to use all her magic to resurrect him, which intimately fails. Atleast she tried :p.Ciri then realises that she cant save Yennefer or Geralt because she renounced all her magical powers back in the desert, all looks lost then thankfully that unicorn that we seen earlier in the books saves the day, a unicorns horn can heal any illness or disease and with the additional power of Ciri's elder blood, can revive dead people, Ciri and the unicorn thus save Geralt and yen but there still in a lifeless body state, alive but look dead, They are placed on a boat and the boat vanishes in the water, she had put them on a peaceful island secluded from world affairs where they can spend months, years or even decades as time to them is much, much, much longer than a normal humans, When Geralt finally wakes up he bangs on about how much he loves yennefer and its hurting him to think of her, and that the pitchfork stabbed through his chest is still hurting him, yen says dont move and that ciri has gone but who cares because were together, afterall this is what they always wanted remember, this is where the story of the books end, moving into the games is where Eredin has other plans, kidnaps yen and uses her so that ciri would save her. Long story short, Geralt spends 6-7-8 months tracking her down, finds her, trades his life for hers, 3rd time he has saved her now :) and then Geralt is saved by ciri, as per usual by now lol. They have both forgotten about each other, yen and geralt that is, sadly due to eredin clearing their memory, Yen's is returned by nilfgaardian mages whereas Geralts takes 18 months, once he remembers about his true love, Yennefer and realises Triss had played him like a fiddle, granted in love but still.. like a fiddle. They split, Geralt spends 6 months finding her and then u have witcher 3. So when you consider that they finally defeat the Hunt, Eredin and thus save Ciri from being captured as she had to flee from Eredin for atleast... 5 years? Killing Eredin is a little like 2 birds with 1 stone, avenging Himself and Yennefer for her capture and their sub-secant memory lose, and also saving Ciri from Eredin who would either (judging from the books where the previous Aen Elle elf leader had tried 4 times to have sex with Ciri to create a another elder blood child, he however couldn't do it, probably because she was a human, The king even overdosed heavily on drugs to try and have sex but it still didn't work) forcefully have sex with her or kill her and try to use the blood. NOW they can finally retire, forgetting about politics and all the other bullshit and spend many decades together in the vineyard that Geralt had been granted, thus as you mentioned, is the reason why they "talk so intimate about their dreams and their relationship" because of what they have been through and their contined immense love for each other. Don't worry about aging, Phillipa eilhart is 300+ years old and she looks barely 30, assuming they age at a rate of 10% of normal humans, which i still doubt is this high, Phillipa will live to about 900. aka, 90. But thats from something i have judged myself, I believe they can live much longer. As for the witcher, just look at Vesemir, nobody knows how old he is either but he is atleast 250 years old as it is mentioned he has more experience in years hunting down monsters than everyone else, assuming "everyone else" is just Geralt, eskel and Lambert, who are 100, 100 and 50 years old a piece, leads to the conclusion of ATLEAST 250, but id say considerably more, 500+ maybe o-0. Thus to me, this is why there retirement (Tho i imagine if their called upon for help say Triss or someone they will happily oblige, therefor its more like a semi- retirement as they are still perfectly capable of getting involved with a certain issue) is finally a happy ending (no pun :)) for Geralt and Yen's extremely busy and turbulent past, as they had broken up, sometimes aggressively (tho not physically, remember Yennefer would actually win a fight with Geralt because she could simply paralyze him) by aggressive i mean "CALL ME YEN EVER AGAIN AND ILL TEAR YOUR EYES OUT FROM THEIR SOCKETS WITH FIRE" lol as you can she, she was once extremely angry with him :P Even with such a past it was obvious, no matter how bad things got between them, they always, give or take a few months, years, got back together. Finally ive seen many people who don't have a fucking clue what there talking about go. "Yennefer seems to love him whereas Triss is head over heels" and "yennefer is just a bitch and wants everything her own way, Triss truly loves him" and im sitting their like... wtf. For starters when vilgefortz tortured yen with the weird emotional device to find where Ciri was, only Geralt appeared. When she was staring death in the face in skellige when she went on the boat, she asked Phillipa to tell geralt she was innocent. And the many statements i have already made should be proof enough. Final point i would like to get across, Everytime Yen and geralt have got... turned on by each other, its always been through Yennefer's actions and not Geralts. Thanedd, Yennefr said "Dont eat garlic for tonight", During that night they had sex twice the horny bastards, both times after Yennefer asked not geralt. When they first met with the Djinn, it was actually Yen who started the sex after Geralt called her Yen for the first time. WHen they thought they were going to die in the bath Geralt actually specifically implied he didnt want any romantic feelings after yennefer said get undressed he said "i dont think now is the right time" but she convinced him. 6 times they have sex in the books, as in written about it by sapkowski, and each time it was Yennefer who started it. In the games granted it was geralt who started it on the unicorn, but the second time in Kaer Morhen, remember, it was Yennefer. "Sneaking of upstairs to make love". So that just completely deflates the BullShit of what people say, and if anyone says she just used him for sex, then i say "Used someone for sex for 20 years?". The end
@MrWhitey9988 жыл бұрын
U. TOPIA I agree tho i don't hate Triss in the same manner as you seem to. Remember this, she was ecstatically in love with geralt, to the point in the books where the simple MENTION of geralt made her blush bright red. Also it wasn't the case that she didn't tell geralt that yennefer lives or not, geralt DIDN'T even know who yennefer was, a small but important difference. Remember once he regains all of his memory before Loc Muinne, he speaks to Triss about Yennefer after the game remember when Triss and Geralt walk from the bridge, He explains, according to my knowledge, about how he has remembered Yennefer and that im starting to get all my feelings for her again, Triss, realisng that her time was up, accepted this and they split up, but agreed to remain close friends. Betraying Yennefer for the Lodge in the books really was a cunt move and Yennefer promised Triss she would never forgive her, i believe to this day she still doesn't. It took Yennefer 4 years to forgive Geralt for leaving her in their old home in vengerberg, we know why he left her tho, she was WAYYYY to demanding. You can tell geralt regretted this deeply when they met while hunting the dragon 4 years later, Yen said as you know from my previous explanations she would never forgive him etc and he looked disheartened, Apologizing multiple times, reaching out for her with his hands, calling her yen etc but she threatened him lol. Anyway of topic here. Triss acted way out of bounds, kept so many secrets from geralt and such and such but by the time of the Witcher 3, she partly understood the gravity of her mistakes, She clearly loves him with all her hearts etc etc. But to me that doesn't matter, Yen and Geralt are perfect for each other, opposites attract :) The way they bounce of each other in the games, When Geralt for the first time says "I love you Yen" instead of only thinking it, Yennefer freezes with happiness and love, tho she doesn't show it to him at that point. THis is proven by the fact that 30 minutes later after her talk with Francesca when she asks for a kiss that she refused 30 minutes earlier, and then says... lol "Dont eat garlic tonight". Yennefer is the Canon Love for the games, that is who the book writer had as his love and who the game developers have as his love, Triss is the "optional" or "alternative" love line if you like, or as i prefer the "non- canon". Im happy they remain close friends in the yennefer love line, it just makes more damn sense, Yennefer and Geralt, for fucks sake think of Ciri, She is happy with Yen and Geralt sticking together and a bit disheartened by geralt leaving for Triss if you pick that option. A happy, warm and comfortable friendship between Triss and geralt, with Geralt being in a relationship with yennefer just makes more sense. Also, i prefer Yennefers personality significantly more anyway, if I had to choice between 2 women in real life i would choice the person that would be yennefer myself so lol. Also did you read my entire previous comment? I spent an hour or so writing that as i went back and forth gathering information xD
@MrWhitey9988 жыл бұрын
U. TOPIA When Geralt lost his memory, he actually retained fragments of it. For example, when Geralt first wakes up and triss says "Don't you remember me, i was your wife before you lost your memory" or somethign similar, its later revealed when asked by somebody why he is with Triss and he says "I remember before losing my memory that i was with a sorceress" and he thus believes it was Triss. The relationship technically isn't fake, because even when he gets with Yen in the games, he still harbors feelings of love towards Triss. Also revealing who Yennefer was in the witcher 1-2 would of made NO sense before he regained his memory. Imagine saying to somebody who had lost his memory "you was with someone called Yennefer before u lost your memory" you would literally be like "Was i? ohhh well, i hope i find her tho i dont know who it is" there was no reason for Triss to even reveal this information. It might well be still the right decision to reveal it, but it wont lead EITHER of them anywhere, it would just worry Geralt as he tries desperately to remember, and hurt Triss that she can't have a relationship with him lol. Once he regains his memory he immediately explains it to Triss and Triss understands and accepts it, she could of tried to say "She is the past, stick with me" etc but she didn't cos she understand. One thing i dont like about her is i believe i read somewhere that the "rose of remembrance" actually makes people forget, not remember, and if you remember correctly in the witcher 2 she was in the process of brewing a potion for Geralt to take to "regain" his memory. If she had the chance to create this potion and wasn't kidnapped by Letho (who when you ACTUALLY look into it was a good guy lol not for the Triss bit i mean when you look into the situation he was only following the orders of the lodge before he split from it, he helps Geralt by saving Triss if u dont save her and he also helps Geralt in the witcher 3 assuming you spare him in the witcher 2) then he would actually of forgotten about Yennefer an even longer time. Your English is fine lol i thought it was your first language, dont worry about it xD

U. TOPIA Triss gives Geralt love potions in the books, but its happened before the books take place, where they talk about it momentarily. I believe it was Yen and Triss who discussed it tho i could be wrong. Also let's look at it this way, if you loved a women to the point where it was unbearable, as is triss' case, and she suddenly forgot her memory and started "loving" you, as was the case with Geralt, I think you would come to understand just HOW hard it is to do the right thing. Ive just watched a video, Yen explains how "To fuck a dear friend of mine" aka Triss, this is after she threw the bed out the window lol So ive come to the conclusion that she has forgiven her for her prior betrayal of Ciri. However i dont know why she forgiven her, maybe time? maybe she did something? I might look into it lol
@MrWhitey9988 жыл бұрын
U. TOPIA No lol she forgave him pretty much straight away, she understood Geralt's amnesia she just wouldn't accept it as an excuse is all. Remember they were eyeing each other up at Bran's funeral, Geralt saying he loved how she s smelt and then she mentions to him that she remembers being tied with rope to a bed after a party xD During the wake for Bran they have sex so i think she forgave him rather quickly. Also that's not what i mean, i meant in the books Triss betrays Yennefer with Ciri, Yen asks triss to tell Geralt that she was innocent in the thanedd coup but phillipa says No its not in the lodges interest, and that a puppet ciri that ruled kovir would actually be run by phillipa and the lodge. Basically Triss had the option between helping her best friend get Ciri back so they could live as a family, or use Ciri as a puppet for power. Triss choose phillipa and the power but she asked Yen to forgive her, to which Yen said "No.. never". Then obviously you have yen captured by vilgefortz and 4 months later freed by Geralt blah blah, there death, there peaceful life on a special island which ciri took them to, the hunt, amnesia, finding Yen again. You know how Yen would act if she actually didn't forgive Geralt for the sex/relationship with Triss, just read the books lol but nahh she understood so forgave him pretty quickly, as in, Vizima or at the latest, Brans funeral wake. By the end of the game they move in to the vineyard together so all is good :) What a lot of people don't understood or misread is this. They assume that because is very demanding/controlling and always wants her own way, shouting at Geralt, ordering him about etc is because her love for him is minimal and she is just a bitch, she loves geralt just as much if not MORE than Triss, she is so deep in love with him that the thought of losing him crushes her, thus is she very controlling. As time moves on both of them view each other equally and they both bounce of each other with word battles and plays, originally, the reason why Geralt left her back in vengerberg, was because of how demanding she was and he had no counter, as they "matured" in a way they eventually both enjoyed it and argued with each other for fun, as is mentioned in the vineyard when geralt asks how our word battles started and she responds with "to keep yourself from boredom". Its difficult to say controlling, because that brings to mind "GET BACK BY 10PM, COOK ME FOOD, YOUR NOT DOING THAT" etc etc but Yen wasn't like that, it was more just "do this for me" "later" 'evil asf stare' 'Geralt submits' "ok ok ill do it" lol. Also she is HEAVILY involved with politics remember, so she doesn't have much time to be romantic with geralt so she has to put up a strong face, once the issue with the Hunt is dealt with and they both retire, her demanding appearance melows considerably and they both happily play and bounce of each other. To think that people believe that Yen doesn't love geralt as much as triss is hillarious, cos in reality, id say she loved him more than triss.

there is something about that ending with hairpin i dont like i watched it on youtube , to bad there isnt and ending where regis and dettlaff live and at the same time both of the sisters live or at least anna lives without being mad at Geralt. Wonder if there ever will be a cannon ending
@cl1cka8 жыл бұрын
Dunno from Geralt's perspective this is bad ending : The true villain is safe and forgiven, his friend Regis will be hunted for the rest of his existance... The best from Geralt's prespective would be to let the sister be killed by Deattlaf and let him go - the villain is punished, Regis won't be hunted and is safe. Sure Anna is sad, but at one point she has to grow up and realize even people you share blood with can be monsters.
@tylerw.75447 жыл бұрын
cl1cka I don't agree. Yeah, Syanna used Dettlaf for her revenge but she only planned on killing 5, all of which had something personally to do with treating her cruelly. Dettlaf, was going to murder an entire city, hundreds of innocents including children that had nothing to do with him being betrayed to get his revenge. Dettlaf was far more dangerous. There was no true villain here. Just gotta pick the lesser evil
@CatraGirl3 жыл бұрын
@@cl1cka "The true villain"? What bullshit. Syanna didn't kill any innocents, Detlaff did when he got mad and lost it, that's not on her, that's on him. I swear, people blaming Syanna for having the people who abused her killed, but then defending Detlaff by putting the blame for his actions on her too, are the worst.

Say what you want, I like this ending. It's a cautionary tale about vengeance. Both Syanna and Dettlaff are wronged at first, and both give into their feelings of revenge. The one who pursues them to the bitter end and can only be appeased by blood meets his demise by his uncontained rage. The one who could let go of hatred and forgive is given a chance.

I don't think anyone who kills hundreds of innocent people, because some manipulative bitch used him, deserves to live. He did that once, he could do it again, if he goes unpunished. Syanna had some redeeming qualities - her horrible past, the fact that she was willing to face Dettlaff, once she learned he was destroying the city - what means she cares about innocent lives. Dettlaff, on the other hand, lost all my sympathy after he started to kill the entire city for the wrongs he took from one woman. I get that he was used, I get that he was madly in love and heartbroken and I get that it was his only love in life. Those people, however, had nothing to do with it and yet he started to kill them. After that, he had die. We all have to follow the rules, might should not make right. Even Regis understood that, that's why he made his choice.

You know, this ending for Geralt reminds me of my Dragonborn's ending in Skyrim (with mods). Made deals with Deadra, saved the world (thrice), ended the Civil War, saved Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, and a bunch of other quests. Until one day, I bought a piece of land, made my home, got married and adopted two kids, and never touched the game again. Good 1637 hours of gameplays those were.

Best ending would be letting syanna die and regis doesn't get banished from the vampire lodge and deadlaf get his revenge. The problem is.. Once you learn syanna childhood and what made her do what she did its pretty hard to kill her after learning so much about her. I mean she was always treated like shit by her family was betrayed by the only person she trusted and always found comfort in was disowned and banished from Toussaint raped beaten and abused by knights for weeks until she managed to escape she had it rough. Can't blame her for giving herself to hatred and anger. Plus deadlaff yeah he has his reason but hes a timebomb and hes dangerous which is reason enough to kill him instead.
@hartantoanggoro5 ай бұрын
Poor Dettlaff, being used by an angry little girl and die in the hands of his benefactor. Syanna is the true antagonist but it's hard to admit it when Geralt is fixing the relationship of the 2 sisters while Syanna already prepared to kill Anna from the get go.

To me, the ending where they all die is the best ending. Syanna caused all of this, had several people killed, and emotionally manipulated people. Bitch deserved to die. Dettlaff, while he was a victim of Syanna's manipulation, was very unstable, and took out his anger on people who had nothing to do with it. He was too dangerous to let live. Anna was willing to let Dettlaff continue to kill people to protect one murderer, just because that murderer was her sister. I won't say she deserved to die, but I shed no tears for her.

I cried at the moment when two sisters hugged each other and reconciled. Very touching. A lesson to all the people that sometimes we should get rid of the pride and forgive the one who abused us in the past because the more hate we bear towards someone, the more it hurts and destroys our own soul from within. I can forgive anyone who brought me harm in the past because nowadays it seems so miserable and pointless the reasons of those quarrels, but would they forgive me? I dunno...

I think that's best for Regis. What would you prefer, stay in a country that was impacted and massacred by vampires, the folk there could annoy Regis if they found out, Apparently he is dude that lives in a cemetery, or go to a country that vampires are considered myths and you can finally live normally.
@MjollTheLioness-o4y3 жыл бұрын
Agree, from what Regis says I don't think he was too crazy about Toussaint anyway. He says that Toussaint is like a strong wine, better if taken in small sips and seems to be fine with going to Novigrad. He also pretty much confirms the vampires of Toussaint will leave him alone if he leaves. The only thing that makes me sad is that he lost his friend. Yet Detlaff is partially to blame. When Syanna disappears he doesn't even give Geralt and Regis a chance to explain that they didn't plan her escape. You'd think he'd at least gave Regis a chance being his friend and all.
@liduna20003 жыл бұрын
@@MjollTheLioness-o4y well - right. But Dettlaff was much more emotional and "bestial" than Regis. and even for Regis was impossible to control his own fury (according to Regis' own statement). So - you can imagine how much Dettlaf could have controled himself.When she failed to come to Tesham Mutna within these three days he gave her , he probably lost it completely ( I kind of regret that developers didnt include this ending - Syanna coming to tm within three days. No massacre would happen in Beauclair and Syanna lives, Dettlaff leaves, Geralt is investigating, Syanna is condemned for her crimes, duchess lives... yeah - but it is not very... "Shakespearean" :D
