Quita, this game was truly historical. Was a sold out crowd and we were here for ALL the players. We the fans (yes, I was there), were engaged from beginning to end. The thing I loved the most was that the fans truly knew who these players were, on both sides of the basketball. Which I am not surprised about, since Boston is such a basketball city. They need to come back to Boston (and if truth be told they don't need to be playing the Fever or the Sky) again and we will definitely sell it out again. I am truly disappointed that the WNBA only cares about televising games nationally that features one specific name. What a disservice they are doing not only to the players but to the fans as well.

First of all, that is not true because many other games have been on TV, and many Fever games are not on nat'l TV as well. But if you look, most games get 400k-700k TV viewership, the Fever get over 2M or more. There's a reason for that.
@petep52074 ай бұрын
When you start making this a regular thing--I am sure the networks will be glad to televise more games of other teams. The market responds to the demand...and so far, the demand has been overwhelmingly for that "one name" you are too immature to mention. Get outta your feelings, grow the heck up and study up on marketing & business. You just gave a FEMALE'S perspective. Females love to demand things without actually working for them. Like demanding equal pay for WNBA players--when none of you were watching or supporting for 27 years. Like THAT. So you are clueless as to supply & demand. Let me educate you further: WILSON just released another Caitlin signature ball yesterday. BEFORE they even announced the official release, it was already SOLD OUT. I spent hours on the WIlson website and STILL did not snag one. The special edition balls Wilson released for the Sky, Angel Reese, Vegas and Aja Wilson...never sold out. Available for purchase since the day of release. There is a BIG, HUGE. MASSIVE reason Aja Wilson did not get a landmark Wilson deal--even with her last name literally being--WILSON. She is utterly and truly UNLIKABLE. Ask WNBA fans. Perhaps you should also express distaste at how the players in this league have acted this entire season. For example--the tweet from Dijonai yesterday. This is fuking child care at this point. Children. Don't blame Caitlin or the TV networks. Blame the unlikable playersand the so-called fans that have never supported the league before...and STILL do not.

This is 107 miles a 2hrs drive from Mohegan Sun Arena. Mohegan Sun arena capacity is 9323. TD Garden capacity is 19,156. In anticipation of a potential future playoff with the Fever the SUN scout out larger arenas. The SUN advertises it will be playing in TD garden, Boston. This is CC turning the Fever into her personal Iowa and it works because her skills, leadership, vision and execution are exceptional. Generational talent. People are witnessing history. This is promising! I just hope the traveling and double dribbles can get cleaned up. It is hard to watch when the basics get ignored. I think they have a lot of chances and seem to miss the chances with basics being overlooked. But, maybe they can change it around. It is great that CC does not have to do it alone. Let’s be real. The reason they sold out is the game debut in Boston. But can they be consistent selling out is the question. The other reason is the Caitlin Clark effect. She moved the needle. If there was no CC22 the league would still be ignored. Now the WNBA is on the rise.

Not that surprised. This was essentially marketed as Lakers vs Celtics women's edition. Add the historic nature of a first ever women's game at the venue and the new spotlight on the general WNBA brought on by Caitlin and Angel, and you get the results we saw in attendance. If the WNBA are smart they would do more of these WNBA versions of historic NBA rivalries

Post a mid-season revenue fact-sheet for the Sky, like the one the Fever released last week--showing the Caitlin Effect. That is data. I am not saying Angel has NO fans. That would be ridiculous. But I am fed up with everything being "Caitlin and Angel". They are a universe apart as far as popularity and impact. There's levels to this. Caitlin is on th Apex. Angel is several pegs below that. For context, ticket prices being lowered contributed to this outcome. I would love to see WNBA grow, but organically and authentic, not manufactured. Become the product that people want to see, and all the other stuff is unnecessary.
@QuitaLovesSports4 ай бұрын
How is this manufactured? W tickets are some of the mosey affordable tickets in the country so yes they were low enough that people who wanted to go could attend. What is considered organic and authentic growth to you?
@dmadd124 ай бұрын
@@QuitaLovesSports Caitylyn Clark is the example of organic and authentic. So much so that WNBA players are under the impression that the W is marketing, exposing and highlighting Indiana fever games more than others and it is quite the opposite. We as fans have to research when the fever is playing. The coverage for Angel Reese is another example of manufactured. They hype her game but are critical of Caitlyn's. I wish it was not so, because it's doing Angel a disservice. She would grow into an amazing WNBA player by her own merits if they would just allow her game to grow organically and stop with the obvious push and force to break records.

I’ve always found that it’s actually financially beneficial for KZbinrs to be negative. It leads to wayyy more views which equals way more money. The masses don’t like when people are neutral or make positive videos about the W, they don’t click as much which discourages KZbinrs from doing that content. Personally for me, I make the content I want and that is truthful and let the others make all of the money.

Dallas Wings have sold out against the Chicago Sky (x2), Las Vegas Aces, Minnesota Lynx, Los Angeles Sparks 6,251 each game. Washington Mystics have sold out every single game at the Entertainment and Sports Arena this year outside the Fever and Sky games 4.200 capacity. Atlanta Dream sold out a game with the Las Vegas Aces 3,500 capacity. Plenty of teams did this already this isn't something new.

"The growing popularity of women's basketball is excellent news. It is capturing the attention of the American public which represents a unique opportunity to drive the growth of the league. It is essential that the commissioner knows how to take advantage of this moment to consolidate the business and take advantage of the new talent that she is promoting and that put her in the spotlight. The league must become an attractive destination for the best players in the world, thus preventing American players from playing in other countries during the offseason. Additionally, it's time to look beyond American borders and take the league to a global stage. Internationalization will not only expand the fan base, but will also strengthen the brand and generate greater revenue."
