Something I found interesting about the production of this movie is that James Mangold tried to make sure the sets were untouched between takes. This was difficult with the outdoor sections, with the wind shifting the foliage around. He had several members of the crew set up a large tarp to harvest what scene integrity they could between takes. By coincidence the tarp was a shade of blue to match the skies in the background, leading to the working title of this movie being “Blue Harvest.”

You should take a moment and feel it." As he was dying, Logan felt those things for the first time. Hence, "So this is what it feels like."

I've long held that Days of Future Past is the best X-Men as a movie, but Logan is the best movie that is X-Men. A layered film dealing with trauma, aging, legacy and family, with rewarding action that contributes to the narrative and fanservice that doesn't feel like winks and nods. Keene is a great actress, and any flaws in her performance are covered by editing to make her the heart of the movie. A powerful sendoff to a character that for many years has just wanted to die.

Just my thoughts, but maybe it's because Wolverine comes from a franchise known for branching timelines and different versions, so it's not actually the definitive end of the character. We the audience accept that Wolverine as a character can still appear and not be beholden to this ending. With Rocky, he gets to still be a badass and go out on his own terms with strength rather than a fart, and when he gets a successor it's not done by degrading him and his importance as a character. It didn't have that modern Disney writing problem of "Hey audience, remember that thing you like? It's dumb and old, and never made a difference." Luke Skywalker, as a Disney property, can never avoid the ending and storyline they gave him. Star Wars has never been about alternate universes or timelines, so it's harder to have hope that we can avoid an ending where his legacy is failure.

I will also say, from a personal stand point, this feels like a perfect passing of the torch of a character. Like in the movie canon, audiences now expect Dafne Keen to be the new Wolverine, and it doesn't feel forced due to an actor aging out or wtv. It has the same energy as Hailee Steinfeld as the next Hawkeye, and fits, rather than the previous actor/character being forced out. Some thoughts even though I love this movie and think it's a pretty perfect ending for Wolverine: 1. I always thought it would've been better to bring Liev Schreiber back as Sabertooth instead of doing a Logan clone. Hugh Jackman acting against himself just reminds of Jean Claude Van Damme, who couldn't stop doing that in his movies (Double Impact, Timecop, Maximum Risk, Replicant). Though I admit I ate up all the stupid cheese from most of JCVD's movies when he was in his prime. 2. I love the fact that Boyd Holbrook is channeling Val Kilmer's "Tombstone" Doc Holiday performance in this movie. It's just instantly compelling, and just plain works. 3. I would pay all the money to see someone re-score the final burial moments of this movie to a version of the cartoon X-Men theme that was sad in the style of the voices like the theme to James Horner's "Glory" or Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard's "Gladiator". That would be perfection.

He wanted to buy the boat so he and Charles could hop on, go to the middle of nowhere and Charles could live his last moments and die of a seizure without hurting anybody but Logan and then he would kill himself. Logan isn't willing to kill him or have him killed but also sees no end to Xavier as a threat and wants him at least to go on "natural" terms. Pretty grim.

I actually really like the idea of an older Logan and Scott (having to keep his eyes shut) traveling together

Thoughts and Prizes is my favorite long running bit on this show maybe ever. I laugh out loud every time

The punchline to thoughts and prizes will be the return of that one guy yelling “Rodney” over and over

Thoughts and Prizes is clearly a tax dodge for James to buy himself stuff.

Little known fun fact: they briefly conisdered having Logan dress up in his classic costume, probably for the final fight. They couldn’t figure out how to bring it in organically and thought it would look too ridiculous for this version to be dressed up in the blue and yellow, so they scrapped it and got rid of the notes and few storyboards about it. This resulted in the movie having the working title Blue (and Yellow) Harvest. Coincidentally, Blue Harvest was also the working title of Star Wars Episode 6 Return of the Jedi.

Donald Pierce is such an incredible villain. The actor who plays him also played another incredible comic book villain in the Sandman. The Corinthian. But also I’m just a sucker for prosthetic hands. They look so cool.

Genuinely, the Wolverine trilogy are the only X-Men films I've seen but since I watched all of them either pirated on a laptop on some lonely night or on a crappy tv at someone's house party across more than a decade I can't really say much about that experience. They were all movies, and one of them was even good

Honestly, I think Caliban is one of the best characters in this movie. I loved the acting he did. Great great

When I was in 8th grade I was leaving the theater after falling asleep during a movie a couple months before Logan came out and my mom made me take a picture with the big cardboard thing for this movie because my name is Logan, it’s a very strange photo, I’m basically asleep standing up in it. Then I got a terrible concussion and couldn’t see Logan till almost the end of its theatrical run. These are my stories around the movie that I share a name with, great movie by the way

Such a fantastic send off for Wolverine. A truly great film in its own right

I think the prize for thoughts and prizes should be playing exactly half of the clip of the guy who yells rodney on a single videos trivia section

Here’s a thought: Mason’s skeptical view of Thoughts and Prizes takes him out of the running for the prizes

Bless you Nick Mason for still believing that James has thought of a punchline when he starts a recurring bit

I heard there was an unfilmed intro to this movie that would have been way darker. Word is it would have had all the original X-Men actors returning and finally wearing the comic accurate suits, going on a mission and then all dying when Charles had his first seizure. Honestly I’m really happy they didn’t do that intro because can you imagine how much of a slap in the face to the people who’d been begging Fox to use the comic costumes that would have been?

"I sneezed and I killed everyone."🤣 I sure hope my tears of laughter didn't cause an earthquake! Still the best X-Men movie in my opinion.

Some numb the pain of existence with drugs and alcohol. Others numb the pain by listening to James and Mason ramble about movies they haven't seen and never will

I figured the prize is more great content from the two of you (plus Ben and Lawrence). Thanks for all the entertaining videos!

I suspect that thoughts and prizes started off as an ear worm in James' head after hearing someone say "thoughts and prayers", and from there it took on a life of its own.
