Personally, I'd have Russ return part way through the Eldar refresh. Narratively, Nurgles Garden is burning, lit up like a beacon in the Warp, and we could have Russ find and free Isha as the "Tree of Life" he's been searching for, powering up all the Eldar factions with the return of their goddess. This would, in turn, get Slaanesh's attention, sending Fulgrim and the Emperor's Children out into the galaxy to strike at Craftworlds, Exodites, and perhaps even Commorragh. This way we'd see refreshes for Aeldari, Emperor's Children, Space Wolves, and potentially Drukhari, with a possibility for Exodites to finally get their spotlight. Not only that, but this way we'd see three returning Primarchs, as we all know who else would step forward if their chase through Commorragh is interrupted...

As an Eldar player, this would suck. Would be Ynnari 2.0 where Imperium move our Lore fowards and once Eldar stops beeing usefull GW scrap it away. The Eldar should be the ones rescuing Isha. If Russ in involved, cool, but the fucking victory should be Eldar. Like "russ stir shit u, the Farseers sense Isha, move the whole mighty of the Craftworlds there and we have a huge war and the Eldar come back with Isha and Russ rejoin the Imperium" would be cool in my book.

I honestly want everything you said to be true, the Space wolves are my favorite faction in 40k, and I love Orks vs Wolves, the Orks have even said that the space wolves are one of their favorite enemies to face because they are strong and like the melee just like them, I remember reading that they thought very highly of Logan Grimnar. plus the orks showed up after Russ disappeared, so having the wolf king return to face an enemy he's never encountered before would be very cool, and I'm really hoping in the space wolves refresh to see more primaris space wolves melee units, a primaris Logan Grimnar and Primaris Arjac Rockfist along with Upgraded Bjorn dreadnought and of course the Wolf king himself. seriously though Wolves vs Orks is a winning combo

Storywise, I was hoping for Ferrus Manus being rebuilt by the Omnissiah and Big E when Vashtor becomes a Demon Prince as a counter to him. Vastor will cause a flare up in the Warp across the galaxy, but the extra power would let Big E res his son with the help of Caul, the real Omnissiah, and using some Necron tech since he was infested with it and bound to it. The Omnissiah showing up could also lead to the Men of Iron coming back as some allies of the Mechnicus and others corrupted by Chaos. I could see the it making an official alliance and swearing fealty to Big E to work with humanity in their ascension while fighting Chaos. It would be a really cool dynamic to bring back AI to the setting and make it a sub faction to several other factions and even have a Chaos God dedicated to the fear of technology and AI taking over. But I am more into the Space Wolves personally, so seeing Vastor getting countered by a Russ, who's answer to Warp BS and technology is to scream at it, howl, then hit it as hard as he can and ignore that the technology shouldn't break is actually probably the best counter to Vashtor and him personifying the fear of technology.

There are several theories about why Russ left, all just as canon as the others as they've all been mentioned in source materials over the years. One of them was that he went looking for his friend, the missing Primarch Johnson. The important thing, though, is that all of them are in-setting speculation as Russ never stated why he left. The only thing that we know is that he gathered up his personal Wolf Guard, ordered Bjorn to stay behind and lead the chapter, and left for parts unknown.

I hope if orks do become the focus of the next big narrative campaign, AdMech get more lore beyond “An ork space hulk crash-landed on forge world Piston 6. Despite the valiant effort of the Ultramarines the forge world was eventually lost.” Maybe have Ryza show up to help since they specialize in orks and finally get a named character besides Cawl. The last "refresh" we had saw several models get an update. Ragnar, Logan, but we never got anything SIGNIFICANT. With the inclusion of the Primaris, yet no UNIQUE space wolves variants. It felt hollow. There was no true flavor to it. Felt like a way for you to chapter-hat at will (Switch chapters for games if your models are unpainted to have fun)

@@rankcolour8780 Well without a dedicated model range and bikes being 3 models in total plus a chaplain its hard to make them an appealing army. On the other hand we see them picked often enough in HH and most who read the books there also like them. With a dedicated range they could be probably quite popular. I can live with Russ coming before Khan, but I sure hope that once we get the bike boxes Ravenwing and White Scars get a proper releases and we celebrate it with the Khan's return. The Khan's HH model is just amazing, it would be a fantastic look for a SM divergent army.

@@rankcolour8780 Yeah, I don't disagree. The Wolves are definitely the save choice for GW. I'm still interested to see what success a properly supported WS chapter would have. The other codex compliant chapters to me don't necessarily need own model ranges (except Salamanders) as Tacticus armor is pretty much Ultras, gravis is Fists and Phobos represents the Ravenguard look pretty well even without additional bits released. Scars and Salamanders on the other hand to me have a need for a proper range as the detailing would require some divers armors to really sell the looks.

The HH stuff has made ,e jealous, GW removed the good SW stuff that made fitting them out in 40K fun like grey slayers and their upgrades but the new HH WS stuff is fantastic, the MKII heads are pure "chefs kiss", you knew storm seer in HH is fantastic. For SW I'm left with a bunch of werewolves that arrived in 7th edition I never wanted anyway. I'd much rather have your smaller amount of quality bits that them mountain of cringe SW trash we have. EVen the 40K upgrade kit is better than the SW one. You boys might not have as much but GW has treated you with care if a little neglect.

If Leman Russ was supposed to return, I feel it shouldve happened already. With the Siege of Fenris, the Thousand Sons, their sworn enemy burning the Fenris system, sacrificing a planet of theirs into the warp to bring out the planet of the sorcerers, the deaths of Egil Ironwolf and Sven Bloodhowl, AND the bombardment of the Fang by the Dark Angels, THEN Fenris purged of all their native peoples by the Grey Knights, Fenris and the space wolves were on the brink of complete annihilation on all sides by their enemies AND allies. They were almost completely and utterly destroyed. If Leman Russ was supposed to return during the "Wolf Time" The siege of Fenris sounds alot like it woulda met those requirements.

Nah the chapters were going to be GW 's next major focus and Im not surprised its this edition. Now that GW has this fully revamped SM range over two editions, they can now let loose on the chapters. Starting with those who were the easiest to reimagine with Ultramarines being the poster boys, then you got Black Templar out of nowhere and now this edition will give us DA, BA, and SW. After that GW can really get creative with the chapters that barely have unique units and models. And thats what Im looking forward to the most in future editions

I always figured that Leman Russ would be the next loyal Primarch to return. He's merely the easiest to justify lore wise, and the fact that Space Wolves are a divergent chapter. Its who comes after Russ is much harder. You would think that Blood Angels should be the reasonable next choice for a Primarch. But they can not bring back Sanguinis. His death is just way to important to not just the Blood Angels, but the overall story of 40k. So... I've had this wild theory floating around for awhile. There is a clone of Fulgrim that is wholly loyal to the Emperor and the Imperium. Since the original Fulgrim and the entirety of the Emperor's Children are completely overtaken by Slaanesh, if that clone is to return to the Imperium....who would he lead? Well...what about the legion/chapter whose gene seed is making them all slowly go insane? Considering how perfect of a clone he is, the potential gene seed coming from the new Fulgrim could potentially help stabilize the Blood Angel's gene seed, especially since the Emperor's Children gene seed was possibly the most stable out of all the legions. Again...just a wild theory, but I feel it makes sense.

Clone Fulgrim isn't coming back ever, stop the copium holy hell. He existed for barely half a book as a plot point for Fabius Bile, started to show the signs of corruption like the original Fulgrim and was kicked from the setting at the end of that book by being given to Trazyn. Even if by some miracle a lonely Primarch with literally no supporters and that nobody outside of the few corrupted Emperor's Children that saw him before he got snatched was able to somehow escape alone from the stasis chamber, then escape from Solemnace, a labyrinth so massive that it takes milleniums to visit with a guide, and then find a way back to the Imperium he would be killed on sight. The only person in the entire Imperium that would potentially have enough authority to save Clonegrim from an immediate execution would be Guilliman and the last time Guilliman saw a human looking Fulgrim he got stabbed in the neck and spent 10k years in stasis to recover. Clonegrim is never coming back
