I've watched her since her "got monetized" video. It was so fun to watch a woman build her dream life and consistently grow with happiness and hard work. Her journey was always so inspiring to me. I've fallen off of her content lately because it feels like she's heavily forcing the influencer "buy everything you see in my videos angle" and her silence on 🍉. But, I'm going through that exact same struggle with my gaming channel, so she's definitely still a huge inspiration. I hope she finds her joy again, whether that's on KZbin or no.

@@AprilynneAlter also great work with the 90 day challenge . I was previously doing travel content , went into debt 🤦🏽♂️ , now switched to finance content . My goal was 2 videos per week . I filmed them but editing and managing my newsletter almost took me into a burn out . How’re you pulling it off seamlessly ?

I love Cathrin's work (since she was around 5k subs!) but I noticed her channel has stopped growing. She hasn't had a 50k+ views video for over 8 months. I think it's because she's pivoted away from her original content style which was all about helpful tutorials for KZbinrs and the KZbinr journey. These days it's more of a vlog, and I'm sorry to say she isn't as optimistic as she used to be. I get she's had a kid but man she's worked hard on that channel and see it decline makes me sad.
@AprilynneAlter Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say her channel is in "decline" at all. Her brand has always been about creating a life you love. For her, a life of making KZbin tutorials wasn't a life she loved. She's recently bought her dream house, is getting married soon, and has a child she's always dreamed about on the way. He brand has done really well on Instagram as well, and she just completed a nationwide workshop tour and and has a retreat coming up soon. She's making the most money she ever has, and she gets to do it on her own terms, making the type of videos she wants to make. Her content definitely isn't for everyone, and that's by design. Just because her monthly views are down doesn't mean her brand isn't absolutely thriving - there's a lot more that goes into success than the number we see from the outside

Agree, I used to watch the content bug when I was doing a lot of pinterest and blogging. The channel is a hot mess now. Cathrin is so self-absorbed and has broken the cardinal rule of KZbin: Serve Your Audience. No wonder no-one except a few stans still watch her boring channel which has no relation to what she built her channel on (c'mon, that was blogging and then > KZbin tips).

@@vapor4 I think what she’s doing now is more successful. Making videos you hate to serve an audience you no longer want is basically being an employee. She’s more successful now and happier.

I love your videos!! You clearly put so much effort into them and one of my favorite things (that many other channels don't do) is that you give concrete, clear examples. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to the next one! How do you manage scripting? Do you script or just do points? Im a teacher so can speak from the hip no problem and scripting is a struggle for me... esp how to follow a script and look at camera, sound natural etc so Im thinking about doing points instead and speaking w/o a verbatim script

what a beautiful video. like a balm to the soul. I don't think Cathrin's story is over yet as she's writing the playbook for niche shifting. the one thing that gives me hope however is knowing that determination will ultimately bring you success.

Your research is so well done...like you must have watched tonnes of her videos to be able to gather the information....you definitely put in a lot of hard work and countless hours. I first found Cathrin's channel before she had 1k sub as she covered more obscure but useful topics related to blogging yeah when the channel was still The Content Bug. That time I had no interest in making videos but when she pivoted to KZbin tips and spoke with so much positive vibe and energy, it got me to start making more videos. As she pivoted away from KZbin to vlogs, I was not able to keep up. Glad from your update she is doing well and thank you for telling her story to the rest of the world. Yes, she is indeed a true inspiration, so as you are too 👍

@@vapor4 in a way, I do admire Cathrin for having the courage to pivot at the height of her KZbin success. Occasionally she still would make videos related to KZbin tips and they're still good....now her style is straight talk, no BS, and sugar coating and fancy editing. I guess in the end, we really need to take care of our wellbeing. No amount of money in the world is with risking our mental health like this channel creator, Aprilynne who decided to stop making NFT videos and start this channel completely from scratch.

Cathrin proved you can follow your dreams to make the content you like. Subscribers follow people who have a passion on a subject, and I am guessing her new channel is more about self help goals and improvement tips. I was not clear about Cathrin's new channel theme (guessing it is self-help theme). I watched a lot of her original channel work.

I found your channel through the thumbnail vid and the quality of your vids are mind blowing! 🤯 May I ask your opinion on my KZbin channel? My channel is mainly about skin care, men’s fashion (people don’t really care about this topic) and cosmetic product reviews. I work 9-5 so I’ll never be a full time KZbinr but I wanna start Vlog. Should I make a separate channel for Vlog or just add it to my channel? I don’t think I can upload Vlog often enough so I’m wondering. Thanks for your advice!!

C'mon, pivoting while having 300k subscribers is not difficult at all. Try doing this while having 400 and it's a totally other story.
@vapor4 Жыл бұрын
Incorrect. When you have a large number of subscribers and pivot, your channel tanks because your subscribers don't watch it. Subscriber watch time is just one of the many thousands of metrics used by KZbin's algorithm to determine whether to push a video out to a wider audience. If 300,000 people don't give a crap about a channel's new video, that's a huge red flag and congratulations, you've just burned your channel that took years to build into the ground. KZbin will not show that shit to anyone which is exactly what happened to Cathrin Manning. The only people that still see her shit are a few random die-hard stans, like Aprilynne clearly is. People subscribed for KZbin tips, now they're getting baby videos and house renovations..... Make it make sense.
